Sharon wrote: "Are you going to do it with Creatspace?"Yep I think so I already have an account- I will have a look online for RF images to use-I need a knocked up blonde with a worried/enigmatic look on her face and some nappy pins and a feeding bottle!
Sharon wrote: "I am sure they will have something on there."We'll see. Now if it was man in thong or footless black tights I could take a photo of Alain!
Sharon wrote: "LOL - What colour hair does Jo have? Could always stuff a cushion up her jumper ;o)"Blonde, streaked, it's a pity I didn't take any baby bump photos when she was expecting Hugo! I could always put a wanted ad on here I suppose, or I could stuff a cushion up Barbie's frock and take a photo of her - my original idea was to use cupie dolls!
Alain is laying the first of the three bedroom floors today upstairs, he gave it its first coat of paint yesterday- I think he would have been wiser to wait until I'd painted the walls with the colour we decided on! (which we haven't yet) But I do have a Cerise pinky purple Roman blind for the velux so I'm sort of thinking its going to be grey and pink, the doors are going to all be painted silver grey instead of Brilliant white - which tends to go yellow when someone smokes in the house. As for the landing maybe cream and coffee as I have cream coloured Roman blinds for the window and the velux the bathroom will be pink with the tiles and the Roman blind is cream.
Sophie's bedroom she wants in pinks, like her room here but I promised her I would do a stencil border in purple, black, and vivid pink. Its a boys and girls posing (teenage type posing) I got it from Noz.
I can't wait to do the walk in pantry with Friesan cows on the walls!
Sharon wrote: "Thats not a bad idea"Yes I wanted that for TBL but they chose photos. Alain gave me enough grief over not having seen my book published and now it is he's giving me grief because they haven't told me how much I've earned! I can't blooming win! I told him I was going to change the name and re-release it and he said I can't do that it's already been published. He's always right so I just saved my breath knowing full well I can, and will!

Hi all, I have received first look at my book back from the lovely and talented Emme. So I have loads of work to do and wont be able to be round for awhile.
I hope you all keep happy, well and enjoy the snow or at least your children.
Keep safe and warm,

Remember if you need a hand just let me know, sometimes two heads are better than one! We are forecast snow for tonight, again, and due to start in an hour according to Jo! We shall see! I think I have the lurgy so I am off to bed now. I doubt if I will be going anywhere tomorrow so I should be able to comply with the latter no problem! You keep warm and safe too. Night Night!

i like that one aswell! I really like the covers that are illustrated instead of using models. The good thing about createspace is that you can design it with a special program.

I'm glad you had a good experience with Emme, I'm saving my pennies so when I'm finished I can ask her to give me a hand.
Morning allWe have snow and more is forecast, it started in the night and whatever caused my pain last night has gone now. Bizarre, though as soon as I felt weird I took a cranberry tablet and they are anti viral. So maybe with all the anti oxidants I take it zapped it? Who knows, I'm just glad I didn't succumb!

hey, at least you got rid of it in time!
Hi all, we have snow and lots of it. I might have to take a break from work and go out. However, I do have a big problem with my book and would really appreciate some opinions.
One of the characters is a monk from medieval England which means he would speak 'middle English', Chaucers English. Currently i have him speaking modern English but as Emme points out this does not sound right. If i were to try and write middle English the readers wouldn't understand what he is saying. So should i just concoct some kind of fake language that sounds old but can still be understood or leave it modern and explain it in a different way.
I know this is a difficult one but any help would be good. Thanks all, now i must get out into the snow. The dog will either love it or hate it, ha, ha.

I think you should use some words that sound old but not the whole language, use mannerism as well. A fake language sounds good.

You really need to use a mix of the olde language as in Shakespeares English me thinks my lady doth protest too much and so on - in LTS my character (the loopy one) thinks he is Lancelot, lover of Guinevere and knight of the round table and both him and (his hostage) Megan speak in slightly olde world best thing to do is let you read some so you can see -
Eva wrote: "Sarah wrote: "Morning allWe have snow and more is forecast, it started in the night and whatever caused my pain last night has gone now. Bizarre, though as soon as I felt weird I took a cranberr..."
Yes, very strange! How are you Eva, don't supose yo have any of the white fluffy stuff in Barcelona?
Thanks my friends for your good advice, that is settled I shall make it sound old but still understandable. The snow is really distracting me, it's a real drama here. I can't wait to see what my dog makes of it. She is cosy by the fire at the moment.
Thanks again, i shall let you know how it all goes.

not a all thank goodness, it's cold and this morning was raining but I'm still able to hang clothes outside.
Morning all, We have loads of snow in London but not sure what it is like back in essex, there was none when I left for work this morning.
I agree with Sarah Tarian, use Shakespeare's old English. it would work a treat.
Tarian wrote: "Thanks my friends for your good advice, that is settled I shall make it sound old but still understandable. The snow is really distracting me, it's a real drama here. I can't wait to see what my do..."I sent over 3 consecutive chapters where I swap from an olde English, into English, and into slang. The reader is aware the character Megan is playing along with the charade to stay alive! Everyone knows Malcom/Lancelot is a sandwich short of a picnic!

The taxi didn't arrive for Sophie this morning and because I wasn't sure if I still had to take my car to the garage as planned because they hadn't sent me the quote to okay as promised so she is off school.
Hugo doggie was like a loony thing this morning running backwards and forwards and rolling in the snow!
Sharon wrote: "I am possibly leaving early, half the trains have been cancelled already."Yes the last thing you want is to be stranded in London overnight! I think it's raining here now.
I will never be stranded as such, I can always get to my mums, then I will sweet talk my dad to take me home ;o)
Sharon wrote: "I will never be stranded as such, I can always get to my mums, then I will sweet talk my dad to take me home ;o)"Poor Dad, having to go out in the snow! Maybe. How's Monst now? Is he over the lurgy yet?
Sharon wrote: "Yes he is fine, being a pain as usual. Think I preferred him ill - lol"You don't really mean that, you know how whining men are when they're ill! It's foggy here now and the snow is still lurking and its freezing. I salted the path to the door, no bambi impersonations then! We had chicken roulades for lunch with potatoes and green beans and the yummy sauce from the chicken!
Alain has gone to paint a bedroom! That's the first time I have seen a gritter lorry come past here gritting the roads ! So they must be expecting more of the same tomorrow!
Sharon wrote: "I think it is in for the weekend at our end."Yes here too I think we are still on Amber Alert for snow am sitting in close proximity to the fire with a book and my feet up.
Sharon wrote: "I will be doing that soon too. keaving work withing the next 20-30 mins."And by now you are tucked up in the warm I hope, have a good weekend.
Thanks for all your help. Have a good weekend everyone and keep warm and cosy.
Sharon wrote: "Morning all, well I made it in to work. My trains, believe it or not are actually running."Yes funnily enough so was Sophie's taxi today and we had exactly the same amount of snow last night as we had Friday! Just making Chilli con Carne for lunch, got to fetch the girls because I still have to book Sophie in to the canteen!
It did not stop snowing at all yesterday and I was up from 5. Think it stopped about 9ish last night.
It started here about 5 this morning. Lol we were taken off the list for snow warning yesterday. Its raining here now and really windy so most of the snow has already gone. Jo has it bad in Normandy, she can't get the car up the drive so she's at home today with the children!
Sharon wrote: "I don't blame her. I had to take Renee home yesterday and the car was sliding all over the place."She isn't very confident driving at the best of times and she is scared to death of putting the car into a ditch in the snow!
I hit the pavement a few times and carried on going when I hit the brakes. Was very scary, I have to admit.
Sharon wrote: "I hit the pavement a few times and carried on going when I hit the brakes. Was very scary, I have to admit."Its when you brake and the car does a pirouette and leaves you crushed up against a tree, which if it hadn't been there would have been a dip in the lake below! I wasn't driving luckily but if I had been I wouldn't have been going that fast and I would have been in 4 wheel drive, no one was hurt luckily, not even a scratch, the car however, had almost 3000 euros worth of damage!
Sharon wrote: "Wow that is a lot of damage."Yep, left wing, mirror and door, new tyre and paint job! Sophie was just a baby, it was our first winter here in France! I heard from a friend on Linked in that Raider is pulling the same trick with all its authors, not replying to correspondence or paying royalties Alain said they can't do it, they have a contract to uphold. I said the can't but they are but not for much longer I have already reported them to Amazon!
