Bon Appetite! Off to the hairdressers to be shorn ready for the holidays, maybe this time I might even remember to put a colour on if I get time between now and Saturday!
Sharon wrote: "That is so cool. You should do a craft stall somewhere and sell all."Maybe next May but it's all that standing around I don't like!
Hi all, not feeling well today. have a sore throat and am achey. If I had that much plastic I would look young for over fifty. I think Barbie has had too much work done, an obvious boob job and too much lipo.
Sharon wrote: "I am back. Lunch was lovely, not much of it, but at least it was free."Was it a canteen lunch or Nouvelle Cuisine. Lol you'd never get fat on nouvelle cuisine that's for certain.

And they missed Barbie's ass when giving her the liposuction its bigger than the other dolls! And whatever happened to Sindy and Tressy?
I remember them, I had a Sindy or was it Tressy. The dresses are absolutely beautiful. You are very clever.
Hi sharon, emm free lunch. not sure about Nouvelle Cuisine, you just get started and it's over.

If you keep telling me how clever I am my head won't fit through the door. I prefer to think of it as having magic fingers, everything I try I have the ability to master, should I so desire!
I had a copy of barbie that my Grandma bought me one Christmas together with a suitcase full of clothes that she had made, all hand sewn, beautiful sequinned gowns and coats, skirts, dresses, nightgowns, my sister had the same but her ballgown was less elaborate than mine! I was Grandma's chouchou! My show off cousin, had both Tressy and Sindy and later a Barbie too!
The other day when I bought the 3 rolls of tissue for the dresses I also bought a pack of white feathers - I keep looking at these feathers and a piece of white chiffon and I think I am about to make the wedding dress of the century - stand back Sarah Burton-Sarah R Weldon is coming through, I think in a former life I was a dress designer!
Sharon wrote: "Hello all, It is grey and cold here today and all I want to do is sleep."Morning, oh dear, did we over indulge last night or was it too little sleep? Here its wet, grey and miserable not sure of the temperature not ventured out yet!
Sharon wrote: "No none. Will save the vodka for NYE ;o)"Jo likes Vodka, or used to in a former life she now drinks mostly Rose or sparkling wines though when we are together we usually treat ourselves to a bottle of gin and several tonics - fatal - the older you get the less able to support alcohol you become, your liver's way of saying enough is enough I think!
We are having stuffed roast Wild Boar for Sunday lunch and for the meal on Christmas Eve it's a French thing they start eating at 10 at night and the idea is to go to church for midnight mass but never happens - church does the mass early before people get into the spirit of Christmas, ie, whisky, cognac Ricard.....
We could still be eating at 1 in the morning!
Oh god no, I might be in the pub on Christmas eve for a change with a few jack and cokes to see me in to Christmas morning, not too many as I will have to drive to get to mums. But as far as food is concerned, take away sunday and christmas eve ;o)

But as far as food ..."What's a Take-away? The French haven't quite grasped the principal of this. Ringing the local takeaway what a luxury no Jo will cook a meal Saturday evening we will both cook Sunday lunch I am in charge of the stuffing and rolling of the Wild Boar and the making of the accompanying sauce whilst Jo manages the veg and starter, dessert may come from the supermarket or from the freezer!
The men will then go back out hunting until 5.30 at which time they will retire to the nearest bar and talk ab out the one that got away. Which in Alain's case is quite a few, I think he may need specs!
Sharon wrote: "Oh bless. I hope my package arrives before you leave to go to Jo's. When are you going down there?"Saturday afternoon, Sophie has a riding lesson in the morning, I had a package that came from Holland which took almost two weeks, French post is abominal at times.
Sharon wrote: "They said it would be there in time at the post office. :o("It will be don't worry there are four post days until we leave and I haven't checked the letter box today. The post lady has a key so providing it fits in the box she will put it inside and if it doesn't come before we go I will tell her to leave it at Mothers'.
Sharon wrote: "This is true, for some reason it feels like a Friday here, so I am panicing"Thank god it isn't Friday or I would be joining you! I still have a couple of gifts to buy and I am stuck in the house because Alain doesn't listen. We decided to make Rillettes de lapin so Sunday he take two rabbits out of the freezer to defrost, we had a blazing row because I told him it was to early to make it with everything else I have to do this week Thursday would be fine put them back in the freezer and get them out Tuesday night and bone them ready for Thursday. No, I was in the wrong and he was going back to his mothers - I said good take the bloody rabbits back with you and the dogs too because I am sick of cleaning up twice a day after them! I then stormed outside to the freezer with the pheasant he killed that morning and sat in the garage to calm down.
And here we are he got his own way and started cooking the stuff today and now I'm stuck here watching so it doesn't boil dry. So I offloaded the trip to the vets onto him, only fair I told him it was either that or mother takes Hugo now he's clean and keeps him!
So I think I will make macarons while I am dog and child free too and maybe some banana walnut muffins!
Sounds like a good plan. I will be making fudge on Sunday. CHocolate fudge and some with pistachios in.
Sharon wrote: "Sounds like a good plan. I will be making fudge on Sunday. CHocolate fudge and some with pistachios in."I tried making fudge everyone else but me liked it - too sweet for me!
Sharon wrote: "I like the sweet stuff - lol It will be my first attempt at making fudge."Have you got a sugar thermometer? crucial for making fudge and toffees!
Sharon wrote: "No. I got a cheats way, easy and simple made with Condensed milk. Recipe on the side of the tin ;o)"You'll have to send it through for me I never tried it with condensed milk! The kids will love the sugar overload!
And so much for making macarons, I sat down and fell asleep on the sofa in front of the fire. Too much peace and quiet I suppose.....
Sharon wrote: "LOL - will do. Will wwrite it out tonight and send it over tomorrow."I must have been in granny mode, that and the gloomy weather outside it's pitch black here now and still blooming raining!
Sharon wrote: "It's pitch black here too."Normally it is just dropping dusk at 5.30 tonight black as the ace of spades and still it rains. Lol the man wanted to come and dig the hole for the fosse septique tomorrow, Alain told him we want a Fosse not a swimming pool first the pool comes later!
Morning all about to go out and do last minute Christmas shopping. Have a good day.
Morning everyoneI have to go out with Alain to choose the risers for the new staircase and then on to do the last of my Christmas shopping. Why did I not do this in September like I said I was going to last year when I ran round like a silly devil at about the same time of year!
Lol at least the dog has his tranquillisers so I will have a peaceful drive to Normandy!
I have a horrible feeling, I wont even get to my mums on CHristmas day now - Monst just got to work and the gearbox has gone in the car :o(
Sharon wrote: "I have a horrible feeling, I wont even get to my mums on CHristmas day now - Monst just got to work and the gearbox has gone in the car :o("Oh no, will the garage not lend you a car as it's Christmas, they do here. Not because it's Christmas at any tie of the year. They even have an addition on the Insurance where for 50 Euros a year you can have a replacement delivered to you for the duration of the repair!
I had one when I broke down on the way home from Auvergne for 6 weeks in the middle of August the time when France closes for the holidays! Mind then I had to drive allthe way to Saumur to pick my car up and return the hire car! Still has wrinkles to iron out but it was a godsend!
I didn't think of that. I will have to check our policy. I am glad it didn't happen when I was driving, I get in to such a state. I am hoping it may be fixed. It will be towed to our mechanic.
Sharon wrote: "I didn't think of that. I will have to check our policy. I am glad it didn't happen when I was driving, I get in to such a state. I am hoping it may be fixed. Tears come in useful at this point, what you don't need to add is before she goes on her round the world cruise!
Sharon wrote: "LOL - I love it."My useful ploy is I'm a single mum bringing up my daughter all alone since her father died....boo hoo sniff! Gets em every time, and I am so good at crying for nothing I should have been an actress!

Lol the posting won't cost much, and if I sell them on ebay the buyers pay the postage don't they?
Jo has a friend with a second hand shop in Normandy I'm sure she would be happy to sell the dresses for me. The material is under 5 euros for a 10 metre roll the beads I pick up from time to time from Noz or the craft shop the cotton is cheap enough 5 euros buys me 16 bobbins of 1000 metres, the material I use is leftovers or cheap stuff I find in the sales. Old clothes of Sophie's too.
Lol every time anyone gets a new pair of jeans Barbie gets 2 new pairs and a couple of skirts and waistcoats with the pieces I have to lop off the bottom to make them fit the adults!
