Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Update on spotty muldoon, she doesn't have measles as it happens she has 5th disease parvovirus B19 which mimics measles, it's a virus but now the rash has come out she is no longer contagious! He thinks some of the spots may be bites too! And just in case its something coming out the woodwork in the house (bearing in mind the roof timbers are old) I am going to the supermarket tomorrow and buying a spray for the beds and furniture to be doubly certain and plugging her anti biting bug plug in tonight in case its a flying bug. I washed all the covers on the sofa, hell we even bathed the mutts too they smell all squeaky bug free. Tonight they get the frontline treatment again I am not taking any chances!

message 7003: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) At least it is not measles, that is a good thing.

What about some anti-histamine, hay fever medicine. It is a bit of a cure all some say it even works for colds and flue. It definately works on bites. I was allergic to the sun for a while after spending many summers in doors studying. I then became really ill on my first sunny holiday and had to go to hospital. I was prescribed high doeses of piroton and cortisoen. It did the trick. I was also told to take the non-drowsy stuff when ever i went in the sun. Just a thought.

I gave her those straight away Tarian, I am the most allergic person in the world, sophie too, the first sign of lumps, bumps and bites out come the loratadine!

I'm having a glass of wine and watching a cooking competition for puddings! Whilst preparing Barbie clothes ready to sew tomorrow! Posy posh frocks and stuff!

Sounds lovely and cosy. We used to make clothes for our dolls when i was little. Haven't done anything like that for years. Having boys there wasn't much call for that kind of thing. Who knows maybe one day I might get a granddaughter then I can do all those girlie things again.

Partners out tonight so i have control of the remote, nothing much on though. I am watching a gadget show so I can keep up with the boys.

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Morning all,

Only have about 5 or 6 more pressents to wrap up. Phew, I had had enough by 1.00am this morning ;o)

message 7009: by [deleted user] (new)

Morning Sharon,I have managed to get some good presents but I still haven't received my 'Woucher' and when i complain they keep sending me automated messages which don't make any sense. Beautiful day here.

I think it's best to wrap as you go along. my partner has a huge family but leaves all his shopping until Christmas eve. Then he drags me round the shops in a last minute panic. he often ends up in Argos buying loads of vouchers. Mad.

Even I was in bed by then! Morning, have just finished the girls lunch my mac n cheese with the layer of tomatoey veg at the bottom and the cubes of ham mixed in with the mac n cheese on top all that's left is to mix a little parmesan with breadcrumbs and sprinkle on top before I leave to pick them up!

That's men for you last minute I ordered my own present, my new office chair last week and they rang to say it is waiting for collection. I told Alain last night he needs to get his wallet out!

It's nice here today too, but cold the frost is still on the grass around the back and on the field behind!

What's a 'woucher'?

Morning girls
Tarian, my husband does the same. There was one time that he ended up bying burburr aftershave for his mum and he bought me a make up kit of hanna montana. Love him though

message 7014: by [deleted user] (new)

Good question. It's a site that each day sends out deals on anything from holidays to other goods. i saw these tote bags 60% off and couldn't resist, i thought they would be great for son's wife and girlfriend. the problem is they haven't sent me the woucher code even though i have paid through paypal. I think i have been done or just too old for this kind of thing.

message 7015: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Tarian, go back to your original receipt of payment for wowcher, sometime there is a date from when you can claim it. I ordered 100 piece cake decorating kit as a gift. I bought the voucher, but could not claim for 2-3 days after. My gift came through last week.

message 7016: by [deleted user] (new)

thanks for advice I will do that.

message 7017: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) As it will direct you to the site where you purchase the bag. It will say the original price, but you get given a voucher code to put in for each item and then you only have to pay the P&P.

message 7018: by [deleted user] (new)

I think the deal is still on because the clock thing is still ticking. So I might be able to do it after the times up. I was given an id code but that said invalid so I think that is the wrong code. I ordered on the 4th of Dec but i shall give it 12 more hours. Thanks so much for your help. Nobody else has been able to help.

message 7019: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) No worries. I do think you have to wait for the deal to be completely finished and then the magic works.

message 7020: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok thanks. I hope it is magic as i think the girls would really like them. Have a lovely day i think i should do something.

That sounds complicated I prefer Noz for my bargains. Talking of which Sharon your tops are winging their way to you fingers crossed they arrive before Christmas! They should be with you by Wednesday next week at the latest according to the Ghislaine in the Post Office.

Morning Eva,

Does your little girl have Barbie yet? If so I'm making posh frocks for Barbie's, damn clothes are 10 Euros for an ordinary dress, admitted you get shoes and a bag too but it is still way too expensive and they fall apart after a few plays!

message 7024: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments not yet, my little girl likes pini pon. Not looking forward to her having barbies. I agree with you, toys are so expensive. My son is into superheroes. we bought him an Iron man figure that cost 15 euros, plastic tat that broke in a week.

I bought Sophie a Morgan doll, cheaper than Barbie, and it came with a horse! what it didn't have was the posy frock which is why I am making sparkly Barbie clothes they are easy to make once you work out how to sew them on the machine without sewing your fingers in too.

No Barbie's cool especially if you have the house and the furniture- I decided to make my own Barbie house using a wooden open bookcase, the sort you buy in kit form and paint yourself, then I bought her a kitchen from one of the supermarkets and made a bed from one of the wooden tissue boxes turned upside down with a padded headboard and duvet and pillows, bought a wooden jewellery box with a mirror made to look like a dressing table and two small wooden stools and a chest of draws all we need now is the bathroom!

The coolest bit is that when I'm alone I can still go and play with the Barbie's in their house - you're never to old to play with Barbie!

Done that once when I was 10, little hand machine needle right through my thumb nail, hurt like hell too! My Barbie had loads of original clothes designed by me I spent hours cutting flowers out of lace and sewing them onto a wedding dress for Barbie!

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Hi girls I'm back, been shopping with Alain and went to pick up my Christmas pressie, it's too big to fit on my finger but very useful. In fact it's exactly what I needed, I have one or two engagement rings already gathering dust in my jewellery box!

I got my posy new chair and seeing as Alain has taken both dogs I am now going to set too and make a coffee and then assemble my new chair!

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Very nice, we are indulging on Thornton's chocolates in the office. No point taking them home, at least that way that wont get bashed about on the train.

Ooh I love Thorntons, well I did work there for over 10 years, do they still do the cappucinos and double chocolate mints, and toffee cookies and apricot cookies and chocolate covered toffee mmm.... The only one I didn't like was the Viennese Truffles with the sugar on top - if there were no other chocolates in the kitchens for nibbling on except those I used to wash the sugar off under the tap!

message 7029: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Well those ones are not in the box I got, but I do think they still do them, especially in their own shops.

Yes but do they still taste the same? They would probably be way to sweet for me now, I love chocolate but it's really sweet and after a couple I have to reluctantly put it away!

message 7037: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I bought chocolate cups and yes they still taste the same. the chocolate just melts in the mouth.

Sorry no way of knowing anyone is on here today unless you log directly into goodreads Yahoo mail is down! Well I made the prototype of Charlize Theron's dress, well yet to sew it up but it is cut and pinned now all I have to work out is where I get the necklace bits from!

I'll put one in for your niece too, the cape was a bit of a disaster so I will use satin to make the cape I think!

Just had Chilli con Carne for lunch, that warmed us up! Not too hot or neither of us can eat it, Sophie loves Chilli!

I sorted Alain's Chasse permit for the three days in Normandy today and whilst I was on the phone Mrs Robinson phoned on my mobile. I'm trying to avoid her, she palmed herself off on Geraldine's brother last Thursday arrived in Pontivy with her suitcase and installed herself in his flat, the rest you can imagine! He took her out to eat that evening and introduced her to his friend and Madame promptly decided his friend was her bed partner for the night and went off with him leaving the guy sat there wondering what happened.

She apparently turned up the next morning as large as life and installed herself as if nothing had happened! He told her to go back to home and stay there, thanks but no thanks.

I got my ear chewed off by Geraldine for her behaviour but as I pointed out I am not responsible for her in fact I am trying to keep well clear! I know for a fact she would have no qualms to launch herself on alain the moment my back was turned!

Like I said you can't keep a good tart down! Yahoo is up and running again!

Nope, she is little more than a street walker, I don't want to be associated with her. We English have a bad enough reputation with some of the French without her adding to it. No I don't want to be tarred with her brush thank you very much!

Yeah the tart! I sent her an email saying I don't have time to go round and that I got my ear chewed off by Geraldine and that her escapades are COMMON knowledge, the emphasis being common!

I told a little fib that the doctor said Sophie had to stay in the warm, which she should she is colded up too!I also said she should think about going back to England and staying there!
