Sharon wrote: "That cakes sounds deadly, but delicious!"Yep and you just know where it will end up - on the hips! Sorry I nodded off there, that's what drinking at lunch does for you!
Trisha wrote: "How r u all today"Glad its Friday, nicely rounded after two small glasses of wine with lunch oh and the rabbit was well doused in cider and apple brandy too! All that remains of a lovely meal is the debris, and they will be going in the dishwasher in a minute or two....Sorry Morning Trisha or should I say evening as it's now 4.45!
Sharon wrote: "I will be doing mine tomorrow."I think I'm going to save me the bother and put the lights and baubles on the tree outside instead, less clearing up to do!
Sharon wrote: "Now that is a good idea. But I don't have a tree outside."I do, right outside my window and for the last two years it has been brought inside and then returned to the cold a week later. This year I can't be bothered to drag the thing inside and risk the dogs cocking their leg up and peeing on the pot as they do outside!
i just watched a video on how to make macarons and ganache - unfortunately the man needs to go back to his recipe book because he fudged the ganache recipe by pouring hot cream onto pieces of chocolate and then using a blender, which will make it grainy! And then he dropped the whole piece of butter in and whizzed it up again! The Patissiere who invented the recipe must be turning in his grave at the sight of this video!Making Ganache
Dark Chocolate 70% cocoa solids minimum 200g
60g of butter unsalted cut into small pieces
2dl double cream
Break the chocolate into pieces into a bowl put the bowl over a bowl of hot water making sure the bowl does not touch the water add the butter beat smooth and then the cream and beat until smooth and shiny. cool.
Dead simple - I remember Sharon asking for this recipe last year and I forgot well here it is the only problem with it is I have no idea what the dl stands for (french recipe) I'll ask Alain if he knows tonight!
I sent you a French collection ofrecipes for really yummy starters and stuff anything you like the sound of I will happily translate into English for you!

We all have to move to a remote part of France called Bugnat with an upside down mountain and hide inside!Apparently it's 'the place to be' on the 21st ofthis month at 11.11 now whose time zone no one is saying because 11.11 here is about 5 in the morning for you!

Thanks for the kind words Alex. My partner is very clever at fixing thing, problem solving and is a very pratical. He supports me with my writing by giving me time and space but he doesn't read fiction and doesn't understand creative urges. He would rather do a page of maths than sit down and write anything, which would be my worst nightmare.
Going back to what Eva was saying this morning I went out with three of my friends today and nobody mentioned my writing. We talked about my friends gardening business, my other friends horses, the other friends job, families, world affairs, all kinds of things but not writing. Sometimes the act of creating is lonlier than it should be.
Hi Trish, I have quite a collection of lights. They never work the moment you take them down they die in the box or get knotted up. I have lots of lights that I hang onto but they are all unusable for varieous reasons. I just end up buying new ones.

I have Sophie at home today covered in spots! Measles I think despite having the jab! She isn't ill just spotty and has the accompanying cold that goes with it they appeared on Friday but they looked like bites so we slapped a bit of cream on her to soothe them then whilst watching Miss France she said she was itching and had another spot when she took her top off she was covered front and back in big flat spots!
Now we know the ulcers in her mouth she had last week were the start of the measles. Off to the Doctors for confirmation, I phoned the school it's notifiable but it didn't stop the person who must have known their child was ill last week sending them to school because she had to go to work!
Sharon wrote: "Oh that is terrible news, poor thing. I know how uncomfortable it can be."Yep we are now off to the doctors so he can tell me what I already know and relieve me of 25 Euros for the privelege!
Morning all, sorry to hear about the Measles poor thing i hope she isn't suffering too much.
The sun is shining, it's a beautiful day. I must do some shopping today, last minute panic is on. So much to do.
Morning Tarian, I have only 2 or 3 little things I need to get. Having a practice run for Christmas Dinner on Sunday with friends, should be a good giggle.
You sound so organised. A practice Christmas dinner sounds fun. I like the dinner bit even though i am a poor cook. I worry more about getting people presents they want and men are so hard to buy for. My boys already have every gadget under the sun.I shall drop in later on today and let you know how I get on. I shall be more relaxed if I manage to find some good presents. Have a good day.
Sharon wrote: "Do you have to pay everytime you go?"Yep, I get some of it back but not all I should be 100% and not have to pay but apparently they get to choose who gets it and who doesn't!
Tarian wrote: "Morning all, sorry to hear about the Measles poor thing i hope she isn't suffering too much."No not too much she had the MMR vaccination but I was advised not to let her have the booster as she would be protected! My late husband's cousin was autistic, and it was blamed on the vaccination. I had a normal healthy child and I wasn't prepared to put her at risk.
She is full of cold and her eyes hurt, and she has spots on her stomach and back and going down her legs which means it is going out of her system. Because she was half protected she didn't get any on her face or behind her ears the first place you look!
Morning by the way the sun is shining here too. Happy present hunting!

What are you cooking? You should try out a few amuse bouches on them, see if you can get some Phineas Fogg biscuits, philladelphia, hoisin sauce and smoked duck breast- butter the biscuits or pipe a rosette of philli looks more professional piped, curl a slice of the duck breast into a cornet and place on top of the cheese, drizzle a little hoisin sauceon top et voila. you can mix chopped smoked salmon with philly and chopped chives season with five peppers a little grated lemon zest and a squeeze of juice, pipe onto ritz crackers, top with a cornet of smoked salmon and a piec of cucumber and lemon slice (in your case use chopped ham and leave off the cucumber, maybe make a cornet of ham and put a piece of sun dried tomato in oil and drizzle a little of the oil over or use prawns and a little chilli seasoning and ketchup pipe onto ritz crackers top with whole prawn sprinkle with chopped chives or parsley picce of lemon or sprig of watercress!
Not forgetting prunes wrapped in smokey streaky bacon with a roasted almond in place of the stone and tiny quiches made in a tartlet tin!
It will be a traditional christmas dinner, turkey and all the trimmings. Can not do fancy food for kids, it will be just wasted.

Oh god yes, I love my cake, which is why I refrain from making it too often because I only eat it! Like the bannoffee cheesecake I made last week and the pineapple upside down cake.
I have a Ferrero Rocher cake planned for Xmas got the chocolates all that's left is to make the cakes it was to have been for Alain's birthday but I couldn't get a box of Ferrero Rocher for love nor money!
I am making a three tiered round cake each tier leaving a place to put a circle of Ferrero Rocher so it looks like the cone of chocolates on the adverts! I'll take photo's, providing no one eats my Ferrero Rocher first!
