Sharon Lipman (sharonlipmanauthor) | 272 comments @Sarah - I would except my kitchen is stupidly spanish - its supposed to be traditional, but to me its just awkward. There are no cupboard doors... or cupboards for that matter - just open shelving underneath the counter top... of which there is only one. Its the most badly thought out kitchen in the world. Surprisingly, it was built by a couple of English blokes who had a ridiculous offer for the house from another English woman with more money than sense, so they just bodged the refurb, took the money and ran. Hence there are only 3, yes that's THREE plug sockets in the entire house and the kitchen consists of a worktop with a sink in it.

That reminds me... I must get Simon to so a load of stuff at our house. Maybe I could organise a building party??

It's on amazon, Mark has already set up a page here for the book, although it was the wrong eva king because I have never published a book, I'll have to find out how to fix that.
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...

If you look further up you'll get the link, it should on spanish amazon pretty soon anyway.

I am going to do it myself after Christmas make both the book and the kindle available on Amazon at a fair price and take the rights away from the publisher they won't play fair with me and I am not going to let them continue to rip me off.

What a good idea I'm thinking of arranging a floor tiling party swiftly followed by bathroom tiling party and lastly a painting party, trying to explain the principal to the French will be the only setback! I wonder if Jo's fireman friend will send me four of his burly mates for a week?

I have four plug sockets in my kitchen here and one of those hasn't worked for over 2 years and when I take my kitchen out of here it will leave just the sink and a cupboard under it not even a shelf or a worktop for the poor person who comes in here after me!

Yep I am just trying to persuade Sophie to make me a second cup of coffee, I love Wednesdays I get a little help from mademoiselle.

I went into the office supplies shop and tried a new chair out for size, special Christmas price normally its 150 Euros and they lowered it to 90! I ordered one it's guaranteed 2 years and hopefully Alain will buy it for me if not I will buy it myself! I will be sitting very comfortably after Christmas!

We normally get the same weather as you here, what went wrong? Ah here comes my coffee and in repayment I am making spaghetti bolognaise, her favourite lunch! Mm... I may even spring for cheesy garlic bread too!

Have you received anything yet from you know where?

How's the house going ShazzyLouLou? Any pictures? How are you at drawing animals? I am trying to think of something original for a Christmas present for Alain - I thought of maybe an original painting - maybe of him in Chasse gear and super imposing the animals in the background because he is a lousy shot he misses more than he shoots.

I hope I never have to depend on him saving me from a rabid animal cos I don't fancy injections deep into my stomach when he misses and I get bitten!

No not as yet, have you made waffles yet or are you doing that at the weekend?

message 6823: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Might attempt them at the weekend, when I have more time.

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Might attempt them at the weekend, when I have more time."

If you are doing the sweet ones beat the egg yolks with the sugar and the whites to meringue seperately and then incorporate gently - makes for lighter fluffier waffles that are more like the ones from the seaside!

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) OK, will do.

Right need to start lunch now and clear the debris from my dining table, like Barbie dolls, beds and stuff, I cleared it last Friday and slowly it all creeps back on it, people walk in drop stuff on the table and there it stays until muggins here loses her temper and either moves it herself or yells at Sophie to clear her junk off my dining table!

message 6827: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Oh dear.

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Oh dear."

Yes, isn't it just, it's clear now she moved them to another surface and has just been told upstairs with her stuff or dustbin!

Hopefully Alain will take the dogs this afternoon and then I can tackle the floor though why I bother I don't know the dogs will come in and the floor will be as bad again!

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) We are being naughty here in the office, pigging out on Pringles, cakes and chocolates. December is a bad month in the office.

I am about to eat spag bol with cheesy garlic bread, who am I to critiscise! Oh and Alain bought me a box of Mon Cheri the other day there are 4 left! Oh and not forgetting the four pieces of bannoffee pie I have consumed since Monday lunch and the caramel sauce which is a little thicker than I anticipated, not set solid enough to break up but not far off and it is yummy!

Home made bannoffee pie, with homemade caramel sauce and I used chocolate chip cookies for the base!

Oh it was, there's one small piece left which Sophie has earmarked for her dessert.

I have a parcel from Redwings, it arrived a few minutes ago, I will wrap it up as is, that way mademoiselle won't get a sneak preview! She is practising her English writing today I told her she has to write her thank you letter to Jo in English that way she can say thank you herself too. I will thank you now on her behalf. I am going to look for a rosette for her for winning her first competition - it's a 3 stage competition and now the pressure is on for her to do well next time, which is in January I will try to remember my camera next time.

Hi every one. Yesterday i had a carpet laying party. No more shabby chic or just shabby. No more shoes on in the front room, dog on sofa, spilt booze or fag ash. They know who they are.

Sarah, it sounds like you are having problems with your publisher. I sthis a real serious one or just a hiccup? I hope you are able to sort it out. it is hard enough writing books all the rest is heartbreak. Keep strong, you can beat them.

The anthology hasn't arrived yet. I haven't written for ages so it will be good to have something to read.

message 6843: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Hiya Tarian

Are you all set for Christmas now?

message 6844: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Sharon,I am putting up the tree today but that will be all I have done for Christmas. Last year I had some redundancy money and went a bit mad with prezzies but this year it has all gone. It will just be small gifts and food. I got two Tote bags through 'Woucher', never done that before I have paid the money but am not sure how it all works. I have all so bought the black and red cushion covers my eldest wanted off ebay. Still looking for the right tent for the youngest and partner is impossible and nothing yet for parents. The dog is the easiest to buy for. How about you?

message 6845: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I am nearly all done, and have wrapped quite a bit up but still have a mountain to wrap up. Only have have a few little presents to get, and of course the food.

message 6846: by [deleted user] (new)

You have done well especially as your working.

I don't send cards now I send e cards to England usually, letters in France will soon be obsolete the price of a stamp is going up again and they are slapping a stealth tax on food in the New Year, gas and electricity are set to rise too, la vie est cher mon amie, tres cher! Good job the alcohol's cheap so we can at least still drown our sorrows even if we can't afford to eat! As Alain says his wages haven't risen in line with everything else and eventually something will give - I think we could soon witness a second French Revolution!

message 6849: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) The same is definitely happening here too.

message 6850: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeh, I will second that. I think we are heading for revolution. My partners wages have not gone up in two years but he has three times as much work. Its hard to keep up with everything, its all going up. It's a mini-budget here today, what fun.If we have a cold winter we will all be so skint. I got solar pannels to try and save money and then the sun disappeared.
