LOL, No wonder he is an ex. At least my partner laughs his way through most things and he understands that those type of things are normally down to him.I don't think i would like your ex. I already have two adult children and that's down to me, any more and I would go mad. Sulky, men yuck!

No me neither not any more, I once pulled the caravan curtains round him in an effort to stop him spouting the gospel according to St Ted! Well as I said it worked with budgies! He was not amused at all, whereas I thought it was hilarious which went down like a lead balloon!

I just had my cofee and cake, pineapple upside down cake! Preceded by Pate de Chevreuil and cornichons, Boeuf Flamande, mashed spuds, and green beans, and goats cheese and Brebis which is made from ewes milk and is a bit like cheddar!

I am stuffed I had a little of each with the obligatory glass of rose followed by the red (small glasses) but before eating we had to have the appero first small whisky for me Ricard for the men (its a bit like pernod).

No problem that means there's more for us who do like them, nice chocolatey gooey gateauxs and tiramisu I love tiramisu home made naturally. Most French desserts are sickly sweet which is why I go to Guemene their's aren't but I struggle eating a whole piece!

God I'm full, I have left over mashed spuds looks like I will have to make potato waffles for the girls for monday and freeze them! Poor Sophie had some weird concoction yesterday her words were 'degulas' meaning horrible so she finished off the last of the sausage au chou whilst hanging her nose over chilli and rice that Alain finished off!

message 6765: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Hmmm not sure I could eat any of that ;o)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Hmmm not sure I could eat any of that ;o)"

Sophie loves chilli con carne and the sausage au chou, it's an old Breton recipe I re-visited it and bought it kicking and screaming into the 21st century! Lol which now makes it edible the day after too!

message 6767: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Is it something like toad in the hole?

message 6768: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Is it something like toad in the hole?"

No, you cook sausages (no problem using veggie sausages)sliced onions and halved tomatoes (allow 1 big or two small sausages per person two nice onions 3 tomatoes)I use a cast iron casserole simply because it goes from gas to oven without dirtying excess pots! Brown the sausages put them on a plate whilst you caramelise the onions add the tomatoes cook for a few minutes removes from heat then put the sos back on top. Then you cover with precooked whole white cabbage leaves (stalks removed)press down well then place a layer of thinly sliced carrots (generous layer) followed by a very generous layer of thinly sliced potatoes don't forget to pepper each layer - I never salt it because the sausage contains lots of salt and I add a veggie oxo with 1/2 pint of hot water. finish with pieces of butter dotted on top cover with foil or a tight fitting lid and pop into the hot oven 200 dg c for about 1&1/2 hoursremove lid for last 15 minutes to brown the potatoes. Then enjoy but don't plan on doing anything afterwards cos it's very filling!

message 6769: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) It certainly sounds filling.

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "It certainly sounds filling."

Oh it is, just the ticket on a cold winters day, a tad on the heavy side for late at night but perfect at lunchtime! It doesn't matter if you mix the sausages say one end proper sausage for monst just as long as you remember which end is which maybe put a slice of bacon on the end where the real sausages are?

message 6771: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Good idea - lol

message 6772: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments Sharon wrote: "Good idea - lol"

Yep I sometimes do that if I use garlic sausages at one end - because I don't like sausage with garlic in they make me ill!

Yay way to go Eva! Now we need to sort out look inside - so people can read extracts before they buy there is no mention of it being for charity though click on the link that says publishers see how people can look inside.

message 6776: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments Right, crap, i'll see how to fix that... i've no idea how to let people look inside....I will try and change the charity thing so it shows.

message 6777: by Eva (new)

Eva King | 1071 comments Right I think I've fixed it, to look inside the book should come out in around ten working days, i'm so exited!

Yep that's better right in time for last minute gifts for xmas! That's brill Eva I wanted look inside for my book but it required the permission of my publishers who have gone silent on me again I should be getting royalty information too but nothing I am so going to sue the ass of Raider Publishing it seems that is the only letter they respond too!

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) Yes, and I can't wait. The last time I had tikets to see him, it was my mum and dad Silver wedding anniversary and I just got made redundant. I gave them my tickets as a gift.

Okay, I don't see what their problem is I can order books from America and they send them to France and then there is stuff America won't send here either, like the two rug kits I tried to buy or my vitamins! Bizarre rules!

That's okay glad it arrived safely now you and Renee can make waffles of every flavour you can think of just because there is no recipe doesn't mean it can't be done. Glad you enjoyed the concert too. Lunch is calling.

That's the girls at the table eating, couscous today, its enough to cut you in two outside. Freezing cold wind, brr......

Sharon Lipman (sharonlipmanauthor) | 272 comments Sarah - the KFC chicken was a hit. Apparently I am also Masterchef extraordinaire! Thanks again for the recipe!

First round of visitors have turned up and they've bought a load of bad luck with them. They've been here 3 days and so far:

puncture on car
puncture on quad
dodgy starter motor on car
window broke on borrowed car
MASSIVE water leak under the bathroom floor - no hot water and having to turn water off in between loo flushes so we don't get a huge water bill. We can't get it fixed till next week as there's a load of bank holidays this week and the world and his wife has taken the week off
2 smashed glasses
lost set of house keys

Going well so far... NOT!

That's good as I said I am no expert I have only eaten KFC twice in my life but Alain who had never eaten it said it was yummy, but then he is very easy to please as long as I don't try to give him, peppers of any colour unless I blend them into a sauce or soup likewise aubergines and courgettes!!

Poor you with the water leaks and punctures and stuff what a pain! Though I bet your godson being there is making up for all the hardships! He looks adorable, even if he has emptied your bookshelves and cupboards several times over - I have a handy tool to stop Hugo emptying my cupboards that's my grandson not the dog by the way, a hair bobble holding the two knobs tighly closed or if you don't need stuff out of the cupboard parcel tape it tightly shut!

Bend down and look at your house from a toddlers point of view and move everything in his reach! Saves mad dashes to save your favourite ornament or vase!
