Sharon Lipman (sharonlipmanauthor) | 272 comments More fool you! LOL!! I'm quite used to my commute across the house now so the 2.5 hours to get 20 miles down the road was a bit of a shock to the system. Perhaps I should have packed my canoe!

Yes all well here. Preparing for the onslaught of visitors on Saturday. My godson is coming. He's beautiful, obviously, but he's two now and is into absolutely everything. I also have a pointer who is stuck in puppy mode even though he's nearly 7, and is also into everything, including hugs and licks and sitting on people! I sense disaster on the horizon! Eek!

Sharon Lipman (sharonlipmanauthor) | 272 comments Sarah I haven't even started my Xmas shopping yet!! Well except for my godson and niece - I bought them in the uk last week. The only other people I need to buy for are my Mum and Simon and they both keep changing their minds like the wind so I have no idea what to get them. Choice so far are: tablet, set of hair clippers, Liverpool paraphanalia for Simon. Poncho/wrap/type thing, shoes, perfume, kindle for Mum. We've set a budget this year, but I can't see that lasting!

Then there was the kit - fleece x2 Jodhpurs, boots brush set and box for grooming the horses? They aren't my horses! Then came the new clothes pair, of high heeled boots, 5 new books for her to read an umbrella, barbie type bedroom furniture a new barbie with horse of course! She will still be looking for more on Christmas day! I bought me a tablet that was my present to me! I am going to start wrapping them up that way I will know what is left to get!

Cold the fire needed mending done it now but it will take a few minutes to burn up and get warm again.

Antibiotics upset my eldest daughters tummy and both my grandsons and four days is usually enough anyway! can he not give her antibiotic drops for her ear only, that way she wouldn't have the problem?

Hi all, hope you are all good.It annoys me that when Doc prescribe they don't seem to take into consideration about body size. I have been given the same does of antibotics as my partner who is about 3 x bigger than me and have ended up feeling quite ill. Go with your insticts. I hope she is better soon.

message 6727: by [deleted user] (new)

I have spent the last few days on createspace. They are very good and it was all very clear. It is me that's the problem, it takes a while for my brain to click into knew experiences. I am such a ludite that I still don't know how to refresh this page without going back to the beginning. This makes conversations difficult.

Sarah, I was thinking have you ever thought of writing a cook book a, 'hot and spicey one' for dum people like me. I would definately buy it.

The book sounds like it is all set to go. I can't wait to read it.

@Sarah No the ear infection was part of a sinus infection
@tarian I know she only weighs 49 pounds so I am trying to keep her from throwing up I know the last time she had this medication the dose was half of what the dose is this time so even if I don't hear back soon from the dr I am giving her the lesser dose

I have been well blonde today I forgot the weebly site password for the xmas anthology and had to reset it, I have been tryin to find this bloody white handbag thing I'm supposed to click on before I can load the kindle app onto my tablet, when I connect to the computer it doesn't recognise my tablet. Yoo hoo are you blind you stupid computer! I put it away for tonight before it takes flying lessons!

Yes I suppose I could write a cooking for dummies but I'd probably end up getting the instructions wrong the way I am at the moment! I will sit down with my daughter at Christmas and try and load the blooming thing and failing that I will ask Chris - he'll love that blondie strikes again!

Glad you have got meds sorted Trish.

Hi Sarah, after writing earlier my partner who always says he hates dogs came over and annoused that we should take dog our in the car and go for a walk. All was great but when we got home I realised that I had forgotten my key. My son was at work and his girlfriend was at her mums. There was nothing for it than for him to drive round to girlfriends mum and get key. I walked round the streets for ages in the cold until he got back.It has been a very blonde day. Perhaps there is something in the air or perhaps the computers are sucking out our brains. Good noght.

Yes perhaps they are! I can go one better than forgetting your key before locking your door, I once left my door keys in the car. Not a problem you say, oh but it is when your car is in Saumur in the Loire Valley because the clutch has expired on you and you live in Normandy and the spare key is on the kitchen table!

I had to drive back to my friends house in haut Normandy some 180 kms away for the night and then do the trip back to Saumur to fetch my keys.

I had everyone and his dog up and under my feet at 7 this morning, and then when they'd all gone and I decided to get the pork out the freezer to make Pork Normande I find the pack is actually beef to make Beef in Beer (Boeuf Flamande)! Oh dear I would have rung in with a duvet day at that, you obviously needed the sleep!

I have been preparing lunch since 10 and Alain has just rung to see what time lunch will be ready - I have everything in hand, table set, wine chilled, cheese in its cloche, veg cooking meat tender and still cooking to be certain, pineapple upside down pudding in oven nearly cooked! Floor swept, all that remains is for scruffy old me to hop in the shower!

Dilemma now should I make custard? These Frenchman don't understand our custard- creme Anglaise they say, I say no, custard, but its the same they say, isn't it. Not on your life, creme Anglaise is liquid, a good custard should be thick and creamy!

message 6738: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) With upside down cake, I would have either cream or ice-cream, I hate custard - hee hee

message 6739: by [deleted user] (new)

Good Morning, I over slept today aswell, it's disorintating.

Talking about keys I have another story that matches yours. We were snorkling in the South of France and without my knowledge my partner had the car keys in his pocket. After a long brilliant day we went back to the car and discovered that he had lost the key. I went back and searched the beach, whilst he searched bags. After a while it dawned on us where they were.

He had a spare set hidden in the boot. We knew if we smashed glass people might call the police thinking we were stealing the car. Eventually, he took a diving knife he had and eased out a side pane. All the alarms went off, it was embarressing but we managed to get back in.

The thing is this was the third time he had lost keys in the sea. Luckily the other times were before we met.

It is not good loosing things.

Oh you have the idiot that goes with the idiot proof car too! My ex locked the car with the keys opened the boot and put the keys down whilst he searched for something and then closed the boot with the keys inside and off we went. when we had finished the shopping he looked for the keys, no keys then it became my fault I must have had them and lost them! Nothing was ever his fault hence the reason he is the ex!

We had to call the RAC to break into our car so we could open the boot and retrieve the keys. I told the RAC man it was all fine and dandy to make cars you couldn't lock the keys inside. He said yes idiot proof, normally. To which I replied except of course when you have the idiot that goes with it!

Ex was fuming, had its upside he didn't speak to me for the rest of the day. Heavenly peace!

My god that would have to be some thick custard! Custard is lovely in trifles, better than blancmange - which is sort of iffy custard with pink colouring in it!

message 6745: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Weldon (sarahrweldon-author) | 6045 comments All Clean, had my shower, lunch is ready and as usual no sign of Alain, but there is nothing that will spoil, the longer the meat cooks the better it tastes, pudding's done and right side up now all glazed in golden syrup and with the cheries in the holes in the pineapple rings, show the French what a real pudding is!

message 6746: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) I have not had that pudding in years. My mum used to make it. I love it (minus the custard) ;o)

There you go you could make it for Monst this weekend show Renee how easy it is to prepare a yummy dessert, so much nicer than shop bought- unless they come from Intermarche in Guemene they are huge pieces of gateaux, Black Forest, Tutti Fruitti, Pear and Almond, Raspberry, strawberry they are the business - we will have to have a trip to Guemene and pick some up when you're over next year!
