Series and Trilogies
Hannah wrote: "i am reading tunnels. It's part of a series. Does anyone think it's really good?I liked it, but it was a while ago that I read it, so I don't really remember it.
My favourite series' would be The Ranger's Apprentice, The Tomorrow series and the Ellie Chronicles, and The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness.
I hated Tunnels. It's annoying when too many people obsess over one thing, but at the same time, it gives you people to talk to. Like Tamora Pierce, my friend and I are obsessed with, but no one other than our friends have heard of her, and they just say "oh, they're talking about Tamora Pierce again". They haven't read them (although they should) so when I want to talk about something and my one friend isn't there, or when we want to talk about it but we're in the middle of a big group, we're screwed. I don't have the same problem with Harry Potter, but it's actually only a small percentage who are true obsessees: most people just like them, and can only talk about the basic things, unlike people like me who can give you the purpose of every spell you tell me, give and translate the Hogwarts motto, or sing the school song. And no, it's not because I spend my time memorizing HP trivia, it's because I've read them so many times. But yes, the overobsessing gets annoying. And when it comes to a book that I don't like (read: Twilight) then I can't stand it, so I completely understand what you mean. (Of course, you could say I'm a hypocrite, but oh well)

Yup!
Amelia (Imagination in Focus) wrote: "I hear SKULDUGGERY is really good! I want to see where the series goes before I start it, though :P"I really didn't like that book.
Yeah, The Hunger Games definitely isnt that violent.
For a book that is about kids killing each other, there is very little blood and gore.
@Amelia, Two out of three? What about Monsters of Men? Thats the greatest book ever!
And Skulduggery Pleasant is definitely awesome. I wouldnt call it my favorite, but they're quick and fun to read. Numbers 3 and 4 are the best :)

Lol, because I'm cheap and I haven't dragged my lazy butt to the bookstore to see if MOM is there. I need to, though. To be honest, I wasn't all that pleased with A&A (I didn't like Todd & Viola being apart for most of the book...and I missed Manchee)
But MOM looks really cool!

My friends and family all told me (before the movie stuff came out) that HG probably wasn't going to be a movie just because of the blood. I always argued that if they didn't get to graphich with the bloody parts it would be okay. It's not like there's any guts or gross things like that. So when they announced that there was going to be a movie I had a good "I told you so" moment. XD
lol, that was me with BREAKING DAWN. I was so sure they'd never make that movie, because of the content, but lo and behold!
Breaking Dawn movie...haha, has anyone seen 'Alex read Twilight' on youtube?
in the final part he talks about the Breaking Dawn movie (in his super english accent) and he says something like:
'I looked up the description of the plot on wikipedia, and im not gonna lie, have have no idea how that can be a film! There is no way they can show that on the big screen. If they do...it could be the death of cinema itself'

That's really funny. And he has a point. :) You can't make Breaking Dawn into a teen-friendly movie if you split into two parts like they plan to......
And though I will put up the disclaimer that I actually like the TWILIGHT series, I will say...I'm surprised they think there's enough going on, plot-wise, to make two films. I just remember BD being 600 pages of angst, nasty prenatal/birth stuff, more angst, angst, and a "battle" that never happens.
Roll credits!
Yeah, I first thought they were joking when they said two parts.
Honestly, that could be an 80 minute film if the producers wanted it to.
Unlike Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, not much is happening.
I dont support David Yates and his splitting of the book, though it makes more sense than Breaking Dawn being split.
Considering a bunch will need to be edited OUT of Breaking Dawn. I mean, surely, they cant film Edward ripping out Bella's uterus. With his TEETH. Eugh.
Anyway, heres the link to Alex Reads Twilight. Skip to 4:41 for his analysis of Breaking Dawn. Its freaking hilarious.
But be warned: there is some swearing.

If u watch the videos of Alex Reads Twilight, you'll really feel like 'why the heck did I read such a book'.Before watching the vid I was OK with Twilight series, when I watched those vids, a few weeks back, I realized how bad Twilight was.
It's a must watch vid for all Twilight fans.
Thanks for Alex for opening my eyes.

Irene wrote: "Have you head of the Inheritence cycle, there are four books so far."There are only three books so far. It will have four books when it's complete/
My favorite Trilogy is The Skinjacker Trilogy. Of course I don't exactly read a lot of trilogies, but they're still really great books. xDThe Warriors series is pretty good, though the quality does drop off closer to the end. =P They're pretty addictive, though. I've been reading them for about three years...

Amelia, the pragmatic idealist wrote: "ohhh has anyone read the EDGE CHRONICLES?Everybody was talking about it last night at church, but it looks like there's a bazillion books in the series."
I love that series!
I love the Harry Potter books, no doubt, but I also like The Hunger Games and The Forbidden Game by L.J. Smith! And the worst I've read is Twilight. It wasn't necessarily horrible, it was just very boring to me.
Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Divergent, Vampire Kisses, Shades of London, Hex Hall, Nevermore, Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Games, Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, The Chronicles of Vladmir Tod, Princess Diaries, Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, Series of Unfortunate Events, The Immortal Nicholas Flammel, Morganville Vampires. Harry PotterTwilight Saga
Hunger Games
Divergent trilogy
Vampire Academy
Bloodlines trilogy
Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer
The Shiva trilogy by Amish Tripathi

*shrugs*
But maybe that's because I've read two out of the three CHAOS WALKING books, and they blow HG out of the water.
And @Jewelz - I actually agree with you about HP. They're so hyped up and overpopular, it's practically not fun to be a fan. I kind of like books that don't have legions of fans.
