((Yep. I said Abdel could lead her to Jaelyn, but it's precisely because he is with the raiders that he can do this.))

Akila grit her teeth, cursing slightly. She continued to move away from the spider slowly, squeezing the boy's hand.

Akila scrambled back, dragging the boy with her.

[Ji Mei]

Nadira stopped her running. She looked around and hid herself down an alley to think. If this Abdel is second in command, maybe he would know where my sister is, or maybe Jaelyn. But then how could I know I can trust this man. He wants me to hand over the city after all, as if I had the power to do that. Maybe I could deceive him into taking me to Jaelyn. She was still deciding when she heard a racket around the corner. She slowly inched forward and peered into the street. There was that Abdel, apparently following her. Nadira sighed. Then stepped back into the street, out of hiding.

[Evee]

((Um, Ji Mei, Abdel wouldn't do that. He may be a part of the raiders but he isn't evil. In that section before he protected Nadira from the raiders. He doesn't know who she is. What possible reason would he follow her? Especially with guys he just got to leave her alone.))

[Ji Mei]

((Well he was talking to her and she ran away. Plus I edited it))

The boy gasped and hid his face in Akila's arms.

[Evee]

Jaelyn stood up unsteadily and turned a 360. It was completely dark, just like every other time she'd woken up. Her hands searched the floor and she touched something still warm, food.

She put her hand to her mouth, thoughtful. Her head was light and suddenly she was angry. Taken here, she'd been in the dark for more than a day. She hadn't been able to do any dancing, which in and of itself made her restless. It was enough, she had to do something. She had to move around.

She pushed the food to the side, leaving the smell by her face. She stretched out one leg and touched it with both of her hand, slowly she rested her forehead on her knee. She'd dance, for that was all she could do for now.

Akila held him tightly, protectively, continuing to back away.

[Evee]

((He walked away.))

[Evee]

The boy stared.

[Poet in the Dark]

Akila took a shaky breath, then stepped forward, "I'm Akila. Thank you, but... never mind."

[Evee]

The boy looked curiously at her, his eyes wide.

[Poet in the Dark]

She shook her head, "Nothing."

[Poet in the Dark]

Akila took the boy's hand and followed Theras. "Where are we going?"

[Poet in the Dark]

Akila nodded, "Where are you from?"

[Poet in the Dark]

"Right."

[Poet in the Dark]

She nodded, "Yes."

[Poet in the Dark]

Akila blinked and waited, figuring Theras had something in mind.

Figures, Akila thought to herself. "Where are we going?"

Akila nodded, then frowned. "I'm trying to get to the raiders. They captured a friend of mine."

[Poet in the Dark]

Akila smiled, "Glad to finally meet someone who's a friend, not an enemy."

[Poet in the Dark]

"I know how that is," Akila said, remembering how she used to be.

[Evee]

((oops sorry.))

((All the way back to the comment where I said her and was supposed to say him.))

The boy walked behind them, listening.

[Evee]

He smiled, not saying a word. Then he gave him/her a hug, nestling against Theras.

"Life is Beautiful." said the little boy as he stepped back and grinned.

Akila smiled as the boy finally spoke, "What's your name?"

[Evee]

The little boy shrugged and giggled, pointing at a small cactus on the side of the path. It had a flower on top, a Cholla cactus.

[Evee]

He nodded, and kneeling beside the cactus he picked a flower and smelt it. He offered it to them.

[Evee]

Cholla raised a brow and tucked the flower in his shirt, resolutely walking down one of the dustier paths.

((Soo... um, now what?))

Akila followed them quietly, thinking.
