[Poet in the Dark]

"Mika?" Akila whispered. "Where are we?"

[Evee]

Mika huddled up near the hut, "Carine. North area of the desert. Other than that I don't know, they wouldn't let me see how we got here."

At that moment a strange neon sounding howl pierced the air. Mika straightened and stared out into the darkness. "Akila, you want to get out of here right?" She said biting her lip.


((The North area of the desert is notorious for not having many survivors. It's dangerous up there. As far as people know nothing can live up there.))

[Poet in the Dark]

((Okay.))

"Yes, of course." She nodded and tugged a little at the collar, which was tight around her neck.

[Evee]

Mika stood up, looking into the darkness. Somewhere there was another howl. This one was nearer. "Do you remember the little boy they trapped you with?"

[Poet in the Dark]

"Yes, why?"

[Evee]

Mika didn't answer. "If I free you will you help him?" She said. There was another howl. Just beyond the trees.

[Poet in the Dark]

"Yes, I promise." Akila nodded solemnly."But what about you? Don't you want to escape?"

[Evee]

Mika shook a little, "Take care of him." She said. Something metallic fell into Akila's lap and Mika started to walk forward. A howl came from just a few feet in front of them, in the dark. Mika walked towards it and disappeared. The metallic thing was a key.

[Poet in the Dark]

((Is it for the collar or to get the boy?))

[Evee]

((She's in the hut. The key works for her collar and the door of the hut. She needs to find the boy.))

[Poet in the Dark]

((K.))

She took the collar off, then unlocked the door of the hut. She crept forward and looked around. Where was the boy?

[Evee]

In the distance there was a muffled yell. She heard the woman who had been speaking before.

The howling had stopped.

[Poet in the Dark]

She ran over and peeked around a tent. There was the boy and the woman from before. She snuck up behind the woman and fastened the collar around her neck.

[Evee]

Th boy was short, his black hair was mussed and he had a scared look in his eyes. The woman paused, turning around and glaring at Akila. She cackled, looking at the collar and the boy motioned frantically at Akila. He touched his own collar and motioned at the woman shaking his head wildly. The woman grabbed a torch and headed toward Akila.

Akila ran forward and knocked the torch out of her hand, then hit one of her pressure points. She ran to the boy and unlocked his collar, taking it off and throwing it to the ground.

[Evee]

They had only run a few minutes when they reached the chasm. Curving into the distance it was at least a mile wide.

[Poet in the Dark]

Akila cursed innder her breath. She grimaced and looked frantically for some way down or over.

[Evee]

The little boy, on the other hand, seeing her hesitation grabbed her hand and jumped.

[Poet in the Dark]

Akila cried out in surprise, but quickly clamped her mouth shut. She had to trust the boy; she had no other option.

[Evee]

The wind blurred around them, whooshing faster and faster. The ground was rushing up, and it was rushing up fast.

Then suddenly she felt something slimy, sticky and wet attach itself to her. As she fell she felt it start to strain but it stuck like glue. Her rate of falling started to slow and soon she saw the ground. She stopped around 8 or 9 feet above it, but now she was in another predicament. She and the boy lay in the center of what looked like a giant spider web.

[Poet in the Dark]

She cursed under her breath again and sat up slowly, the web pulling at her. She looked around and motioned for the boy to follow her towards the wall.

[Ji Mei]

((Can you catch me up on what has happened?))

[Evee]

((Kay. After Nadira was helping Jaelyn attack bells sounded and raiders came in. Ben was knocked out and Akila and Jaelyn were attacked.

Jaelyn got kidnapped by Barr who turns out to be Akila's former lover. She chases and poor Ben gets left behind. (I hope Sierra will post soon) She gets stopped by the band of men led by Barr(the raiders). A buff man stops them from attacking her and pulls her to the side. It turns out he is an old friend from when she used to be a Ambassador between to two countries. His name is Haben and he was a captain.

He agrees to help her save Jaelyn and rides back for something important. While he's gone Akila hears battle cries and Haben reappears mortally wounded. She is forced to blindly run into the desert as she is chased by raiders. Haben is left behind half dead(he wouldn't survive he riding so she had no choice)

She then mets a strange man wearing a mask who says that death follows her. She ends up getting more lost in the desert when she runs from him. She hears crying and sees a small boy alone in a cavern. When she tries to help him she is captured in a net.

When she awakens she has a controlling collar around her neck and a little girl translates what a nasty woman says in another language. These people are famous for being slave traders. They are the Cario tribe. She is forced to change into torn clothes and is thrown into some sort of hut near the encampment.

Then something starts to howl in the distance. The little girl who had been very scared and weak only being able to talk to Akila a little suddenly went calm and said that if Akila saved the little boy who they used to trick her she would free her. The last you see of Mika(the little girl) she is walking towards the howling. She disappears and the howls stop.

Akila is able to ambush the woman and save the boy but when they run they find a canyon surrounding the encampment. The little boy jumps without hesitation. For a while it looks like their going to die but then they land on threads. Threads that look like a giant spider web. They currently can't move.

Do you want to start Nadira back at the city? I have an idea how it could go.))

[Evee]

He tried to but as he move his hand it stuck firmly to the thread. He looked up at her with his large brown serious eyes and shook his head.

[Ji Mei]

((Sure, but could you tell me the idea?))

[Evee]

((Kayo Well since the city was taken by raider she would start in the city. She could meet a character there, (has already shown up before. Post 124) who is with Ben and they could try to escape. There will be hints at what is happening between the two countries. They'll meet a man who knows Barr and might be able to find Jaelyn.))

[Ji Mei]

((Okay))
Nadira tried to follow her sister and the others through the crowd, but was pushed back until she was the only one left standing in the hall. She felt scared, but even more afraid of what could have happened to her sister. She quickly picked up her skirts and ran down the hill towards the city. People were still trying to flee frantically, and sometimes Nadira had to shove past them. When she reached a small square, she stopped in the shadow of a building to catch her breath.

[Evee]

As she stood she saw one by one people being taken town. The raiders had already captured the governor and only few were still fighting back.

Soon the eyes of a group of raiders fell on her. They approached, one grinning.

[Poet in the Dark]

She frowned and moved closer to him, with much difficulty. She looked around for something to cut the webbing with, but didn't find anything. "What are we going to do?" she whispered.

[Ji Mei]

((So who is going to rp the raider meeting Nadira?))

[Evee]

((Do you want to Poet?))

[Poet in the Dark]

((No. I have no idea what you have in mind, so I'll let you do it. :) ))

[Evee]

((K.))

They grew closer and as one reached out a sword came down, slapping his hand. He yelped and glanced back angrily ready to use his weapon. A man with cold blue eyes stood behind him. His hair was golden and he stood military straight, "No." He said.

The raider's face contorted with anger and then smoothed out, "Yes Lord Abdel."

He moved away but glanced at her again. Greedy eyes scanned her and just as he turned away he smiled. Within seconds the men were gone.

Abdel turned to her and gave a short nod of the head. "Dear Lady it is not the time to be alone. Take more care."

He was about to turn away but then stopped himself, speaking once more, "It would be best if you and your people just surrender yourself completely. Less harm will come to you that way."

[Evee]

Akila took a pin out of her hair and started cutting the webbing that held the boy in place. "Go to the wall!" She said, pointing to the opposite wall.

[Evee]

((What could happen from now is she could try to join Abdel. He was the one I mentioned who could help her meet up with Jaelyn again. She could meet up with Leila who is currently with Ben. The only problem with meeting up with Ben is that Sierra hasn't commented since February 19. I don't know if she's going to keep RPing with us.

Or you could do something totally random. :) ))

((I'll just wander through the city and see what happens from there. ^_^))
Nadira glanced around and saw raiders everywhere. She groaned slightly, then quickly turned and ran down an alley behind her.

[Evee]

The web came off slowly. It was rubbery and difficult to cut, though far from impossible. Slowly the boy started to move, his arms freeing. As she got close to finishing with him he pointed directly to where the web had caught her.

He pushed her hand away from him and started wriggling trying to free the last of his limbs. With so little connecting it the last bit of thread snapped and he dropped to the ground.

He stood up quickly and as he saw something his eyes widened. He let out a moan and pointed to the wall. Four sets of glimmering eyes watched her from an opening.

[Poet in the Dark]

"Great," she muttered, trying to pull herself free. She cut some of the threads, then dropped to the ground. "What do we do?" she whispered to herself.

[Ji Mei]

She wove her way past doorways and windows. She kept on running, not daring to look back or slow down. As Nadira past a solemn group of people, she overheard them whispering about that Abdel person.
((I was looking at the posts before. Was 215 Abdel talking to Nadira? Or someone else? 'Cause then the stuff I've been rp-ing wouldn't be making sense.))

[Evee]

((215 Abdel was talking to Nadira.))

[Evee]

The boy shrugged and took a step back towards the wall. The creature slowly came out of the cave.

[Evee]

When Nadira passed a woman she heard her talking. Abdel was second in command to the raiders.

[Poet in the Dark]

She frowned, then took the boy's hand and started walking away from the web, to a place where they could hopefully climb the wall.

[Evee]

It was a furry creature, long legged and it seemed to be only half awake as it moved down the web. The little boy stared pointedly at it and grabbed Akila's hand, moving slowly to the side.



((Dear Goodness I spent that last few minutes googling large desert spiders and now I never want to go anywhere's near Egypt.))

[Evee]

((Huh?))

((I thought you were talking about one of your characters. I didn't think you meant this boy.))

((Well. . .if that's the case, okay. Lead on!))
