I want to make a past character! So the acrobats are going to Egypt, for sure?

Hey, I have a suggestion. What if when they arrive in the past, they're sort of lost, then meet Akila and she takes them to the palace.
So the guy who grabbed Jaelyn in the attack? What if he and Akila had sort of a romantic past so that'd add drama?

Maybe she had been there on a diplomatic trip.

There is a world a little bit different from ours where things never evolved to have normal schools and things. People did have school but there were schools for specific things. Like how kids used to be apprenticed. Two dancers were Jaelyn and Ben. Jaelyn thinks of Ben as her enemy because he could rival her. A big competition is coming up. Big enough to put them at the top of the dancing industry.
Jaelyn got injured and is feeling frustrated. She goes to a river and there Ben shows up too. She tries to annoy him, failing. Just then they both see a strange object, a scarab. But since they've only ever learned dancing they don't know this. They touch it and both feel some sort of zap. Jaelyn finds two rings inside it and takes them. The next moment both of them voip out of existence.
When they awake they are in a desert. There they meet Nadira and her younger sister Akila. Jaelyn for some strange reason is in big pain and faints. They take her back to the cit and try to help her. She finally goes back to normal when she drops the rings.
After Nadira was helping Jaelyn attack bells sounded and raiders came in. Ben was knocked out and Akila and Jaelyn were attacked.
Jaelyn got kidnapped by Barr who turns out to be Akila's former lover. She chases and poor Ben gets left behind. (I hope Sierra will post soon) She gets stopped by the band of men led by Barr(the raiders). A buff man stops them from attacking her and pulls her to the side. It turns out he is an old friend from when she used to be a Ambassador between to two countries. His name is Haben and he was a captain.
He agrees to help her save Jaelyn and rides back for something important. While he's gone Akila hears battle cries and Haben reappears mortally wounded. She is forced to blindly run into the desert as she is chased by raiders. Haben is left behind half dead(he wouldn't survive he riding so she had no choice)
She then mets a strange man wearing a mask who says that death follows her. She ends up getting more lost in the desert when she runs from him. She hears crying and sees a small boy alone in a cavern. When she tries to help him she is captured in a net.
When she awakens she has a controlling collar around her neck and a little girl translates what a nasty woman says in another language. These people are famous for being slave traders. They are the Cario tribe. She is forced to change into torn clothes and is thrown into some sort of hut near the encampment.
Then something starts to howl in the distance. The little girl who had been very scared and weak only being able to talk to Akila a little suddenly went calm and said that if Akila saved the little boy who they used to trick her she would free her. The last you see of Mika(the little girl) she is walking towards the howling. She disappears and the howls stop.
Akila is able to ambush the woman and save the boy but when they run they find a canyon surrounding the encampment. The little boy jumps without hesitation. For a while it looks like their going to die but then they land on threads. Threads that look like a giant spider web. Akila cuts the boy free and he drops to the ground. Then he sees some creature in a cave by the web.
Meanwhile Nadira got separated from them and is almost attacked by raiders. A man name Abdel stops them and tells her the she and her people should just surrender for their own good. That is where we are.))

Overall I'm thinking they could get sent to a land similar to Egypt. They get involved with the slavery there, seeing and learning things they could never imagined. They also get to compete(for their lives) in acrobatics.
If you like this idea I would suggest reading up on some acrobatics. I like to do that for my characters. I try to make things really genuine for them.
