Fastesthamster's read and write goal 2011

I decimated 43 books this year. And then I thought about what my goal should be for 2011. I didn't want to put a number of books to read, as I doubt I will exceed 43 books.

So, in honour of the etymology of the word 'decimate', I have decided that for every book I read, I shall write 1/10th of it's length. This means that after the tenth book I've read, I should have a pretty fair start on a book of my own.

Of course, I have not yet decided whether it will be a stand alone book, or short stories, or even poetry. Perhaps an essay or two? The main goal is to get writing, and keep writing.

I will use the standard manuscript measure of 250 words per page.

Good luck! I think writing is quite a difficult pursuit. Heck, I struggle to write a couple of lines for a blog post.

I am on book six [finished, one or two still in the process of] for the year, and my writing is lagging by quite a bit. I am, however, writing. So that's something at least.

Bit disappointed that the reading is going so slowly. I've been picking some heavy books...
