Suefly | 620 comments I had a bad car accident when I wasin my 20's. It was weird, but my life did 'flash', and it was not a happy insight at the time. I quit my dead job at the time, and joined the Air Force. Due to that, I was able to serve, met my hubby and now am (finally!) able to cut my college costs with my VA benefits.

Michele bookloverforever (lovebooks14) | 1970 comments I had an operation. It was supposed to last 2 hrs. It lasted 5 and I had a lot of blood transfusions. 2 days later, I was still very weak, very tired. I was helped into a chair by my bed so the nurse could change my sheets. I recall reaching for a cup of water and trying to lift it to my mouth but I lost my grip and it fell on the floor. They called a code blue. The nurses got me into bed. I saw a white light at the end of a tunnel and I was floating out of my body near the ceiling. I grabbed the edges of the tunnel door and asked told god I could not go yet since my husband had just buried his dad 2 weeks ago and my death on top of that would likely kill him. Then I woke up and the doctors told me I was getting 2 more units of blood. It was a near thing. I remember also thinking "well, what do you know? It's real!"

I was t-boned in my 1974 Pinto by an 18-wheeler after a Damned show in 1979 and woke up several hours later surrounded by nuns in a Catholic hospital.

T-boned, nuns...yeah, I know it sounds like bad 70's porn but it actually happened.
