Cassidy Savage (savagegy6) That's what Bella thought he was thinking and then Edward explains that he wasn't looking at Nessie or interested in her, it was Bella he was in awe over and the lifestyle they have. It changed everything he had thought about hybrids.
I don't think there is a chance for choice. She already knows Jacob is "her Jacob" as Nessie put it. She knows they are meant to be together, she doesn't fully grasp how but she knows they belong to each other. It would be interesting and funny to see how Jacob would react to another suiter. But it's been done with Edward and Bella...so kinda old hat, same story different players.

message 102: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 34 comments I agree Cassidy, but I do want a book about Jacob and Renesme. Not because I want to see Jacob and Nah, fight over her, although I would love for Jacob to feel as frustrated as Edward had to have had about his infatuation with Bella, but because I really want to see how this 1/2 vampire/human and werewolf relationship is going to work out. EVERNIGHT BY CLAUDIA GRAY, is a story about a girl that was born to vampire but is still part human-has a heartbeat, eats food. So,, if youre interested in kinda figuring out how they might work-minus werewolf love, THIS IS A GREAT BOOK TO READ. I honestly think Meyer has read this book, Renesme reminds me a lot of Bianca.

Alex Gates (savvyvampireluvr) | 43 comments I cant even begin to talk about this i could write a book about this book, so i just can say I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nuff said.

message 104: by Alex (new)

Alex Gates (savvyvampireluvr) | 43 comments I am sorry to do this but i have to its just who i am, but to all the people who yelled at me telling me that a vampire and a human female cant have children (see disscussion, Strange Idea: Need Help), IN YOUR FACES I TOLD YOU IT WAS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for those who belived in me thank you. Now you can get back to your discussion.

message 105: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (pinkflipflops527) | 10 comments haha! i never even THOUGHT about bella getting pregnant. but you were dead on alex!

i was shocked when bella was pregnant. at first i didn't want her to be, but afterwards i was okay w/ it. i didn't think it was weird that jacob imprinted on her b/c she was a baby (i was used to the whole quil/claire thing) but just because he was in love w/ bella before. after a few pages of it i was okay w/ it though.

message 106: by Mccaul (new)

Mccaul (ryanmccaul) I loved the part with Quil and Claire! Claire is so cute!

Okay so maybe this was obvious, but I just figured it out\. Maybe the dreams/nightmares bella was having were because renesmee showed her those nightmares. It goes along with her gift?

message 107: by Liv (new)

Liv (olive18) | 2 comments HI, ok well Breaking Dawn dissapointed me, it didnt live up to my expectations, I liked it but I did not LOVE it, I feel like it was way rushed and it didnt really connect to the other books as well, I was so excited for this book and I am a little sad. I think it is really wierd that Jacob, who once was deeply in love with Bella, will now be her son-in-law, that is just a little creepy. I really think that the whole Renesmee thing is kinda wierd but I liked it, I love Nessie, she is so cute, and I agree with Sienna on the name and the fact she needs another book, but she needs to take her time to write it and just have fun. I really LOVED the end though, it was great really great!! I loved how she let Edward into her mind and I loved that everyone was pretty much happy, but I think that she kinda left us hanging, but there isnt another book, so we have to put it all together our selfs. I am excited for the book thats coming that is supposed to clear up all of the loose ends though, December 30, 2008!!

message 108: by Alex (new)

Alex Gates (savvyvampireluvr) | 43 comments lol haha thnx Allyssa! SAdly though i wasnt shocked about the Bella being pregnant because my friend thought it would be funny to send me a text saying "omg bella's pregers" because she got the book before me. :(

message 109: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (wwwgoodreadscomprofilehhaannaahh) | 1 comments Okay, Breaking Dawn, was spectacular. I was sooo happy that Bella decided to keep the baby, even though it out her through much pain. I also loved how she combined Renee and Esme, to come up with Renesmee. I also like the middle, Carlie, Charlie and Carlisle. The book was soo good, and I'm happy that Jacob imprinted on Nessie, cause then it gave Bella the opportunity to finally have a healthy relationship with him. One where he wasn't in love with her, and envious over Edward, but still in her life. I loved how Bella's gift was the sheild, and how in the end she let Edward listen to her thoughts. This was everything i was hoping for, and so much more! It was AMAZING!!! I wanna be a vampire!!

message 110: by Robin (new)

Robin | 2 comments I didn't love this book like Twilight.I'm a Edward Cullen lover and the reason I have read all the books in the series was because of him. After reading Breaking Dawn I was left feeling sorry for jacob and still wanting more Edward.I read on some website that Stephenie Meyer was writing a novel called "Midnight Sun" that was suppossed to be written from Edward's point of view.I hope this is true.I will be first in line to buy that one!

message 111: by Jenny (last edited Aug 10, 2008 12:21PM) (new)

Jenny (kutiegirl106) I finished it like three days ago and have not been able to reach a computer till now. I LOVED IT!!!! PERFECT ENDING!!!!!!!!!

message 112: by Ashlyn (new)

Ashlyn (goodreadscomprofileashlyne) | 13 comments i finished it a while ago but just never talked about it! i love the name nessie, but i hate the name renesmee

message 113: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (aesquibel25) Me too I liked the name Nessie :) What did you think about the rest of the book?

message 114: by Gwenfair (new)

Gwenfair It was by far my favorite book of the series!

message 115: by Mandi (new)

Mandi Connell | 84 comments I loved how the werewolves and the Cullens worked together and were all nice and such. I was so shocked when i found out Bella was pregnant because no one thought it was possible!! but then i started freaking out cause i always wondered what it would be like for them to have a baby and stuff. I love Renesmee she's so adorable!

message 116: by Erin (new)

Erin | 45 comments i loved breking dawn it wwas soooooo good!
stephenie meyer is amazing the book was so fulfilling!

message 117: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin Gah. I hate the name Nessie. It sounds like something you'd name your dog, you know? "Here, Nessie! Good girl, Nessie! Sit, Nessie! Stay, Nessie! Roll over, Nessie! Have a treat, Nessie, good girl!" Ergh. Lol. But I love the name Renesmee, it's really pretty!!

I feel SO bad for Leah!! In the middle of the Jacob part I thought Jacob and Leah were going to get together. It's so sad that Leah is a "dead end." I really wish she imprinted on someone so her pain for Sam could go away!! That's the one thing I wish Meyer did differently in Breaking Dawn. I felt a sense of loss when the book ended and Leah didn't imprint. Plus, I wish there was a fight with the Volturi at the end. :(

Oh yes and one more thing...I thought it was freaky that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee. I mean, she's Bella's DAUGHTER! *shudders* It just feels weird, and I don't like how Jacob was spending more time with her than her own mother could. Her own mother! Also, he seemed to think he had more of a claim on Renesmee than Bella or Edward. Her parents, for crying out loud! You'll get plenty of time to be with your imprint later, when she grows up, but this is her childhood- give it to the parents! Plus it seems a bit creepy for Jacob to kiss the daughter of someone he kissed and had feelings towards. Ergh.

P.S. I have a general Twilight question...what happens if a werewolf imprints on someone, and that person is already in love with someone else? Would the person stop loving the other one and be attracted to the werewolf, or would the werewolf get it's heart broke?

Plus, what would happen if two werewolves imprinted upon the same person? Is that possible? Like, at the same time?

message 118: by Emily (new)

Emily Here's the thing: If the volturi were fought and most of them killed off in the end, who would become the ruling vampires? There IS a need for them--otherwise the vampires might run wild--no law--no punishment, etc. That ruling thing shouldn't be put on the Cullens--they would never want that power--and as for the Romanians, uhm they are a little too power hungry.

So, it ended without a fight--which in my opinion was good (Even though I did want a fight scene somewhere). The Cullens and the rest of the vampires put the Volturi in check. Now they know they can't just kill whomever they want or they WILL be challenged. That is what is important. All the vampires agreed with that in the end.

As for Leah--it was sad that she didn't find anyone, but Leah was never a character too many people cared about--so that's probably why it wasn't tied up very well (you can't have TOO many happy endings--the book has to be somewhat realistic).

message 119: by Lulliannie (new)

Lulliannie (lullisbooks) I agree with you Emily.

Sella, I think that the imprint might fall in love with the werewolf and out of love with the other person because you can't resist that kind of devotion and commitment. If the imprint didn't want to be with the werewolf though, I don't think the wolf would be heartbroken because they just want their special one to be happy.
I don't think two wolves can imprint on the same person except if maybe one of them was destined to die and the other one would take over.

THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS, SO DON'T THINK THAT THIS IS WHAT STEPHENIE SAID NOR ANYTHING.

message 120: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellerobins) i dont think two werewolves can imprint on the same person, b/c you can't have two soul mates, if you know what i mean.

message 121: by Brynn (new)

Brynn | 14 comments I've been in Eurpoe so unfortunately I haven't been able to respond (funny how I had the book before all the Europeans did...) but I thought it was really disappointing. I do NOT like the name Renesmee and I actually think it's sort of corny for Bella to get pregnant. And I actually think it was TOO "happy pappy" for me. Don't get me wrong, I love happy endings. I did love the beginning of the book though, before Bella becomes pregnant, and I have to admit I LOVED LOVED LOVED chapter 20! But overall I was disappointed.

message 122: by Krista (new)

Krista Benson (shscaptain1234) | 9 comments I thought someone would die...I mean none of the main character "good guys" ever die...should at least one of them die (Roselyn anyone?!? lol)

message 123: by Lulu (new)

Lulu | 3 comments Finished it a few of days ago and gave myself a bit of time to see how I'd feel about it ...and well, I almost feel
like it never happened, actually. My mind is all about Twilight, New Moon...some Eclipse. I'm aware of how it
ended but it doesn't really register. The main thing I've 'kept' from BD is the very ending. Bella managing to let Edward inside her mind and letting him see just how much :} A wonderful idea and my ending to it all. Everything else.....I don't know. Did it really happen?
There was almost no way the book would live up to the hype, no way. But it could have been a lot better. It just
left me sort of blank. Again, I think I understand why Meyer did most of the things she did - why a 34 year old mormon
mother of three wrote it the way she did, yes, I get all that, but still.....
{Of course, it is written just as badly as the rest of the saga - people's eyes still tighten and narrow left right and centre, their jaws fall open and edward still crushes his lips against bella's while she touches the hard planes of his face/chest and all the usual suspects.}
Anyway.
The wedding - lovely, in the same tone as previous books. {I did cringe when Jacob showed up cos what I needed mostly was just Edward and Bella, just the two of them, love and some happiness - after all that back and forth of Eclipse I just really needed there to finally be just them. But no, here he is again. {Bear in mind I love Jacob dearly. But come ooon! I just wished he'd bugger off}}. Way too short - the wedding. So not the best of starts, but decent enough. And then the honeymoon. They finally have sex {and can I just say - yay for a lot of sex and yay for her asking for more! What else happens between two people who love and want each other and finally start having sex?????}. But then Edward is miserable. Ah man! Could she not have given them one
moment of peace! I was getting really annoyed at that point. And then the pregnancy and everything associated
with that. That was like reading something completely removed from the whole Twilight world. I have no idea
what that was. And Edward in agony again. Shit. Then the butchering of Bella. What the ****? How on earth
Meyer believed a typical Twilight fan {a teeny little cute 15 year old girlie} would accept all that is beyond me. I
just read it with a blank look on my face, as in 'eeeeeeh?' and often 'ew'.

I got a bit back on track with Bella turning...I enjoyed that, that was like return to Cullen universe at least. And
I was unspeakably relieved when she FINALLY gave them at least some time to love and appreciate each other
- after she'd turned. I was so starved for any mention of the fact they actually love each other and CAN make
each other happy, I would have taken anything, man.
Some people complained about the fact that Bella was such a self-controlled new-born. I do think blood thirsty
Bella trying to suck her father's blood and Edward going 'no honey, no, look at the pretty penguin, just as tasty'
would be fun, but I buy her being a natural. From the very beginning of Twilight I thought there needed to be an
explanation for why Bella was so okay with the vampires. All the humans instinctively keeping away from them
and here's Bella, so easily accepting it all. Okay, her and Edward being special together and all, but she is fine
in the Cullen house, not a bother around the rest of them. I totally buy the explanation that she was sort of,
'made' in such a way that would allow her to just slip into her immortal world. Works for me.

Another huge complaint from people was about there being no fight. Hmm. Maybe I would have welcomed some action....but i quite enjoyed Caius and Aro just squirming and fuming. And like I've already mentioned - how would destroying the Voltury help anyone? Sure, they are naughty naughty collectors, but they do maintain some sort of 'peace' in the vampire world. Annihilating them would just create complete chaos and everyone would be after the Cullens as the strongest coven. I'm fine with how it went. It was mostly about the strength and love and ties between the Cullens. And I needed some of that. So all good, screw the need to rip someone to shreds.

People also say they wished there was some big drama and that someone died. Hehe. Nooo! I am so happy noone died. Personally, I would have welcomed drama that comes from Bella leaving her parents forever. Bringing Charlie into the equasion was almost idiocy. Complete and utter rubbish. She can't have it all!! There has to be sacrifice and suffering....and her watching Charlie or Renee from a distance and not being able to approach them ever again AND fighting off the urge to kill them would have been believably dramatic for me.

Also. Sacrifice and suffering - no children!!! Just....no. Again, I do get how Meyer really wanted that for them, i
do understand what she did but it was just wrong. I don't even mind the silly baby name itself or anything, the
whole thing was just a mistake. Bella had her choice - while she was kissing Jacob, she could see her possible
future and it involved children. And she decided not to go that way. It was her choice, decided, done.
And, again, Renesmee took away the focus from Edward and Bella - big mistake. {And how are girls in their
early teens meant to react to that.....jeez. Talk about alienating your main fans}.{I refuse to even get into the fact that there's no way Edward could have impregnated her. Too annoying for me to deal with.}

Much more believable drama - Jacob struggling, looking for someone to be with. Meyer thought Renesmee solved that neatly {and while a part of me is secretly quite happy that the whole imprinting on Renesmee made it possible for Jacob to be truly happy, and to still be with Bella} but it just doesn't.........perhaps Jacob and Leah breaking through the pain together somehow would have been better - but that would have taken a whole new book. This way, what was the point of so much of Leah? is it just so that Meyer can run with that character in a few years time? If so, it's really not fair to just dangle Leah about in this book, wasting pages and going nowhere. And thats my big 'issue' - it was all too rushed. There was too much in there and it ended up being a mess with unnecessary bits, silly or downright ridiculous bits....

Anyway. I read it, and I was quite disappointed. But it was a conclusion, no matter how muddled and I wanted one. And there WERE things that I enjoyed - the rare moments Edward and Bella got together, the very ending. Being able to hear Jacob's thoughs. That moment when Bella is saying good bye to Jacob {great emotion squeezed in there}, Garrett and Kate {'I will follow you anywhere, woman'- love it!} Caius and Aro, the Romanians, Bella shielding the ones she loves, her smiling at Jane:} So I will stick with the three books and
maybe a hundred pages of Breaking Dawn gathered from different parts of the book.

So, in conclusion, I do think the book should have gone a different way. Meyer says she knew this was how
she'd wanted it to end since 2003 {yup, there was always going to be Renesmee:} } and her being the author and
all, maybe she does know best. But it could have been done a lot better. A looot better. Shame....

message 124: by Lulu (new)

Lulu | 3 comments ...in one of the interiews, Meyer said that once a warewolf imprints on someone, he will be whatever that person wants them to be - a lover, a husband, a friend, a protector. The warewolf will do whatever is asked or needed in order to make the person 'impinted upon' happy. Basically, whatever Meyer decides suits the story the best:}

message 125: by Lulu (new)

Lulu | 3 comments Yay, Emily - I've been saying the exact same thing about the Volturi. It made complete sense to me too, for the same reasons you mention above, I put that in my 'review' a few days ago.
As for the other comment, I do think there were too many happy endings in there {Charlie being somewhet in on the secret? No no no! the whole pregnancy thing - completely wrong..and so on] Too much crammed in there and forced to turn out happy. Which just makes it silly.

message 126: by [deleted user] (new)

I LOVED BD. I dissagree tho, I didn't really like the daughters name very much. Other than that the book was wonderful.

message 127: by Michelle (last edited Aug 14, 2008 09:57AM) (new)

Michelle (miosio) | 2 comments I loves the book, of course...everyone did, I read the first 500 pages in less then one day. At first I hated Nessie when she was in Bella but after she was out, I LOVED HER <33
favorite parts/things about the book:
1) Every thing that had to do with sex..it was mostly funny, Like the feathers XDD that was awesome. But Edward shouldn't have been that hard on himself, he ONLY left bruises.
2) Jacob taking control of his Alpha birthright. SAM IS A LOSER
3) Jacob imprinting on Nessie (i should of seen that coming, but didnt)<33
4) BELLA BECOMING A VAMPIRE!! OMG LOVE THAT and skipping the newborn stage, awesome
5) Bella having uber self control.
6) Bella freaking out about Jake imprinting on her daughter and the whole name thing, that was funny.
7)...The whole book was pretty much AWESOME. yay Alice for saving the day.

message 128: by [deleted user] (new)

The book rules. I love everything that happens in it!

message 129: by Erin (new)

Erin | 45 comments omg i agree with everything you said michelle i loved bella's reactions to jake's imprinting and nickname the most of your list though i thought breaking dawn was AWESOME!

message 130: by [deleted user] (new)

I know. That was a funny part!

message 131: by Victoria (new)

Victoria that would be nice to have Roselyn gone, but you know what i like her for helping bella with the baby...... it was nice to not have any of the good people die....but i was sad that the dad guys didn't.

message 132: by Jamain (new)

Jamain (justcallmejj) | 117 comments Yeah, I LOVE breaking dawn. Its a good way to write an ending. But, I kind of regret on reading the book to fast, it ruin the moment for me. I have waited for this book for along time and it was worth for my waiting.
Love TWILIGHT.

message 133: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (aesquibel25) You should re-read it now that you know the direction the author went in and you can appreciate it more :)

message 134: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 77 comments I could read Jacob's part over and over because i thought that it was so funny most of the time.

message 135: by Erin (new)

Erin | 45 comments lol... jake's part was hilarious

message 136: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin Bella having self-control and skipping the whole newborn stage makes perfect sense. Bella was the only vampire that KNEW she was going to become one. All the others had no idea that the vampire world even existed, and that's why they went newborn crazy. But Bella knew, she actually CHOSE to become one, and she prepared herself mentally for it. That's why.

BTW, Meyer confirmed those words herself in an interview:

http://www.ew.com/ew/video/exclusives...

message 137: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (willlyssa) Plus, remember how Renee always said that Bella was born middle-aged and gets more middle aged every year? I think the same thing kind of carried over when she became a newborn vampire...kind of like she was "born" a middle-aged vampire because that's just how she is. Plus, she always said that making a decision is the hardest part for her, but once it's made, she sticks to it without a problem. Once she decided to be a VEGETARIAN vampire, that choice was made and she sticks to it. It's just Bella's nature.

message 138: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (aesquibel25) That's true. She was born to be a vampire. She was awkward when she was a human, she didn't really fit anywhere but she fit so well with the vampires when she found out about them and was even not scared of them so of course the transition would have a profound change on Bella. This is what she wanted, what she was born to become. Now that she's not fragile, she can protect herself and her family. Sella, I loved that video it explained so much thank you!!

message 139: by Sella (new)

Sella Malin I agree, Alyssa and Alexis!! She was made to be a vampire. :D

No problem, Alexis! I'm glad it helped someone else, too. ;)

message 140: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree with you Sella!
Bella always had a thing for the paranormal people. She was never ment to fit in the human world.

♥lil' bit :} (i put u in my popcorn tehe!!) | 14 comments omg!!! it was amzing!!!!

♥lil' bit :} (i put u in my popcorn tehe!!) | 14 comments yes but she has to make a book on renessme!!!!

message 143: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (daddysgirl18564) I loved breaking down except for a few parts. First, I hated the ending. It was screwed up. Stephenie Meyer needs to tie up the loose ends that she didn't finish in breaking dawn. Like, whats going to happen to Renesmee when the Volturi come back to check on her or what happens to Renesmee with her quick growth.

Second, from the past books and especially this book, I hate Jacob. I don't know why. Maybe its because he kissed her when she didn't want him too in Eclipse. Or because he imprinted ON RENESMEE! I am super mad at that. AND I wished that Bella had ripped his head off instead of disloging Seth's shoulder when she found out. Sorry, for those people like Jacob. I just do not like his character. Sorry again.

Parts I especially loved were Renesmee's and Bella's powers. And Renesmee. When Bella becomes a vampire. Oh, and who wouldn't want to live in the cottage? It is absolutely, positively adorable. And I want that closet!!!!!

message 144: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (nickjj1000) | 13 comments I loved it. Im counfuzed though. Hw did BElla know that Jacob Imprinted on Renesmee? And the Jacob point of view confused me.

"You. Got. Food. In. My. Hair!"

message 147: by Silver (new)

Silver Alice is my favorite character, but i liked bella after she turned into a vampire. Do you think Breaking Dawn will be in the movie?

message 148: by Mounica (last edited Aug 29, 2008 03:49PM) (new)

Mounica I just finished the book!! I'm so proud of myself that I didn't read the breaking dawn discussiions on goodreads until I was done reading it. Before, I wanted to a tiny peek, but I didn't. Yeah!

Anyways, I didn't LOVE Breaking Dawn, but I didn't HATE it either. It was in between.

I liked ending though. That was cool!

I thought the climax (when the Volturi come) needed much more action!! I mean, come on!! They can't just stand around and resolve it, there's got to be a fight!! All the training for nothing...I was dissapointed there. :(

I loved book 2 chapter titles!!! They were so funny!! Jacob's hilarious!!

I ♥ Luke Castellan *Alexa* (i_love_jacob_black_95) | 3164 comments OH YEAH! I Was SOOOO dissapointed with the Volturi! And I wanted to see what the wives looked like!

Also the chap titles were SO LOL! Jacob is SOO funny!

message 150: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannah7299) I just finished BD. I was worried after seeing some negative comments, but I actually loved it. There were some parts I didn't like, but I was surprisingly happy with how it ended.

I loved Jacob's part of the book. I never really had a positive view of him and this part changed my mind completely. I loved how he joked with Rosalie about blondes and that Edward could hear all of his sarcastic thoughts about her. I was laughing through this part of the book.
I didn't like how Edward was portrayed through that part of the story. He wasn't the same Edward as the other books, but towards the end he came back around to his old self.

I think Bella was more likeable after becoming a vampire. The whole pregnancy part did freak me out and made the story seem negative, but I eventually warmed up to Renesmee toward the end and loved how Jacob came to imprint her of all people.
I loved the little cottage that Edward & Bella lived in! How sweet!
I thought the Volturi part was drawn out and had too much conversing back and forth.
Overall, I thought BD was a good finish to the story.
