Ah, Susanne, you are so right! Thanks for bringing us back to reality here! In a completely fake world, I guess it really doesn't matter if things don't make a lot of sense.

I think that it's funny to be doubting what can happen in a Fantasy book.

Did anyone read the silly review on MSN about this series being a bad influence on young girls? Oh my gosh, it's so dumb. Why does everything have to be a role model for young people now? What's so wrong with parents taking the blame for having messed up their kids or not? Yes, because of Twilight I'm sure that 13 yr olds (or whatever) everywhere are going to run out and try to find an Edward of their own to die for or get preggers or something. Like they are all just dim light blubs.
I can not wait to see what Stephenie Meyers writes next.
I thought it was good but was disapionted by the change in Bella's character. She turned into someone different. Edward's character was great but there wasn't enough of him. I liked Jacob better in this book best. The addition of new characters (all the new vamps) was great and brought diversity. It wasn't writen as well and didn't hold the same enthusiasm for me. The whole scene with the Volturi was drawn out the J. Jenks was simply confusing for a while. Other aspects like the pregnancy and Jacob's imprinting were very predictable. The entire thing felt rushed but also as if it wasn't going quite fast enough. All in all it was okay but didn't hold up to my expectations from the previous books

I think the only real disappointment is that it's over. I think I hear the "rushed" complaint for every last book in every series. I loved it, I didn't predict any of the turn of events and I'm glad. I'm content with the way it is, love it.

I am the mother of three young daughters, so from a mothers perspective I have to say that my girls will not be allowed to read this series until they are MUCH older! I for one, can not believe the detail she gave to the love/sex scenes when she knew how young a lot of her audience is! Just because a lot of 12 and 13 year olds know what sex is, doesn't mean they need to read all about it at that age. You guys are right, it is parents who are responsible. So, as a very concerned parent, I will be closely monitoring what my girls read as well as watch now!
This is a good series, but being popular does not mean it is perfect, it does have its faults.

I plan to re-read it in a few weeks and see if I like it better. I had to read New Moon twice before I liked it.

If you loved Twilight I recommend Kelley Armstrong books... but you have to start with Bitten!

i really did.
im pretty bummed out about the fact that its over.
i was a little let down when i discoverd tht there was no part of the book in edward's view.
oh well i guess thats what midnight sun is for.
hmmm, does anyone know if stephanie meyeris gonna do new moon, eclipse, and breaking dawn in edward's point of view or what..?

but the relationship between Bella, Edward, Jake and Nessie. How it all worked out. Even if it all was a little strange.
"Goodbye Jacob. My brother. ....my son." That was perfect. That's what it knew........ I was like, somehow that works. SOMEHOW, that is perfect.

ANYWAY... to get back on topic (sorry, that rant just popped out up there...) I really liked Breaking Dawn. I didn't love it, although I think I might love it after a second reading. I was so shocked by some of the events in the book (pregnancy, imprinting etc.) that I was too busy being walloped upside the head to really appreciate the details for some of it.
I liked seeing Bella change. I think she matured once she knew she was pregnant - switched completely into motherhood mode and it affected all her decisions. Then when she finally became a vampire, it gave her a great deal of confidence and she'd really found her place in the world. It was so great to see her being such a natural at it! I also loved her talent, and the fact that in the end, she was finally able to protect everyone she loved!
I thought the sex scenes were anything but graphic. In fact I'm not even 100% sure I would call them sex scenes. It's more like, you got to find out a lot of Bella's thoughts about it, before and after, while skipping right over the "during." I think she kept it appropriate for a teenage audience.
I loved Edward in this book. His facade of perfection cracked and it only made him more interesting. All the time that Bella was pregnant, he was tortured because he was so afraid he was going to lose her, and was willing to do ANYTHING to save her. He did also grow into his father role though, once he could get used to the idea that the baby hadn't killed Bella.
Getting Jacob's perspective for a while was great too. Jacob had the best chapter titles ever - and I also really liked all the stuff that happened with the wolf pack(s), and seeing Leah find her own place away from Sam. I am thrilled that Jacob imprinted and that he's finally done pining for Bella.
I think the book really threw me for a loop (maybe several loops) on the first reading, but there are so many great parts, and I'm so happy that they all got their happily forever after, that I think I will love it on a second reading. It will also add more depth to the first three books for me, because I know that every bit of what they go through in those is a little piece of how they got to their happy ending. Bella was MEANT to be a vampire, meant to be with Edward.
I even love the cover now! I didn't hate it before - I just wasn't too keen on it. But now that I know what it means I think I am going to take my poster-cover off the Eclipse Special Edition and put it on the wall, something I never thought I would want to do. :D

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but she's also entitled to write HER stories about HER characters the way SHE WANTS, it's not our creation it's HERS! If you don't like it find something else or write your own. simple as that :)

IT WAS GREAT however i stil liked the first one the best. And I wish Stephenie wasn't done writing books,
however we have midnight sun!
and i still need to read the host i hear its good, but nothing like twilight.

Ryan, Jacob wouldn't give Renesmee to Bella! He was holding on to her and he wouldn't let her go to her own MOTHER!! He thought he had more of priority than her own MOTHER did, even right after Renesmee was born, and it was the first time Bella ever could hold her daughter!! That really annoyed me.
Anyways...one thing I really loved is the development of Edward and Jacob's relationship. In Eclipse, they were close to enemies. But then in Breaking Dawn, they grew closer and closer together, and now they're actually friends. I like that.

You know, like the whole trial thing, the Shylock walking off as a broken man, a villain who isn't quite a villain (but the reverse?), monsters who are really human, and the idea of mercy and Portia/Alice saving the day. That whole thing. Am I right? Ouu, and the Tennyson poetry thing, was that somehow linked to The Charge of the Light Brigade poem? The one where the 600 men light brigade all charge towards their death in the valley, even after they've been forewarned by the spies/scout and know they'll be annihilated? I liked that too...but I was wondering if Renesmee was reading the same poem huh?
Also it's strange that a lot of people don't like Breaking Dawn all that much. I liked it. I mean it was kinda weird and slow at some places, but the ending was so, I don't know, right. It really DID end, there was no cheesy epilogue, to tie up all the loose ends, it was just a good old ending. An ending that finished the story as told by Bella.
Ouu and I LOVED Jacob's book. This book actually made me like Jacob, a big step for me, former Jacob-despiser! XD The alpha thing was so cool! And I really love Seth, he's the best of the best. xD
That and, Bella became way less annoying when she got vamped up! She was actually useful for something, and not just a flimsy little damsel in distress. So yeah, count me in for the "I like Breaking Dawn" side. I thought it was well written, and it did show you how far everyone developed since Twilight. It truly was a book to end it.
"Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred...
...When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred."
And so it ends. Good bye, Twilight.

I
"There is sweet music here that softer falls
Than petals from blown roses on the grass,
Or night-dews on still waters between walls
Of shadowy granite, in a gleaming pass...
VIII
Let us swear an oath, and keep it with an equal mind,
In the hollow Lotos-land to live and lie reclined
On the hills like Gods together, careless of mankind.For they lie beside their nectar, and the bolts are hurl’d
Far below them in the valleys, and the clouds are lightly curl’d
Round their golden houses, girdled with the gleaming world;
Where they smile in secret, looking over wasted lands,
Blight and famine, plague and earthquake, roaring deeps and fiery sands,
Clanging fights, and flaming towns, and sinking ships, and praying hands.
But they smile, they find a music centred in a doleful song
Steaming up, a lamentation and an ancient tale of wrong,
Like a tale of little meaning tho’ the words are strong;
Chanted from an ill-used race of men that cleave the soil,Sow the seed, and reap the harvest with enduring toil,
Storing yearly little dues of wheat, and wine and oil;
Till they perish and they suffer—some, ’tis whisper’d—down in hell
Suffer endless anguish, others in Elysian valleys dwell,
Resting weary limbs at last on beds of asphodel.Surely, surely, slumber is more sweet than toil, the shore
Than labor in the deep mid-ocean, wind and wave and oar;
O, rest ye, brother mariners, we will not wander more."
O, rest ye..we will not wander more.

I like the book alot especially since I didn't see the baby coming nor Jacob imprinting on Nessie.
But, I thought the Volturi scenes would have been more climatic..they were kinda boring...I mean I was happy Alice saved the day, but I thought there would be a bit more fighting before she did.
Also, I absolutely don't think that the sex scenes were too graphic. In fact, I was a bit disapointed by them. But I soon realized this was for a much younger audience. However, them having so much sex is NORMAL...they are after all MARRIED. Even if you're raising your children strictly, you still believe in sex after marriage right? If anything, you should be happy the series promotes waiting.
Anyways. Loved the beginning and end...but I wish there was one more. I hope they make this into a movie because I'd love to see the wedding scene.

Nahuel wasn't interested in Nessie though. He was seeing that he wasn't evil and that saw that the mother and father figures could exist. He was in awe of Bella being a live and being a mother. He wasn't a monster and it changed his life after that. I bet if there were to be another book he would find a mate and bring her to the Cullens to help her give birth and stay alive. I was really glad Bella became even closer to Charlie. It hurt to have her blowing him off, in a way, so much before the wedding and after and all that...it was sad.
