Troy started racing throught the trees and saw Roan. "Roan!" He called.

Roan jumped when she heard the words "Who's there" echo back to her. She couldn't answer, in case it was a human. She wasn't properly disguised. It's not like they could hear her anyways. No one has hearing like hers. Unless they were another experimental...

Aiden faintly heard a name being shouted. Roan?... Maybe. He brightened.

Roan slowly moved towards the voices. As she got closer the thought about climbing up into the trees to hide.

Aiden wanted to check. "Roan?" He yelled out into the forest. The first time he had been louder than a soft voice... Besides the screaming.. But it felt good. "Roan?"

"Roan are you there. Its Troy," Troy said franticly.

Roan could clearly hear the voices of her friends. She grinned wildly and ran towards them. She ran into Troy first.

Aiden heard Troy. He went silent again. Maybe it wasn't Roan.

Roan saw him turn, she was breathing too hard to force her voice, so instead she sped up and threw her arms around him from behind. She hadn't realized how terrified and alone she had felt while she was lost.

Troy smiled, "Roan," He whispered, "I think humans are in the woods lets go!" He kept a quiet tone as he clutched her hand and started running.

Roan didn't really recognize Ryo, but she hugged him too. She was so relieved to be found!

Aiden looked at Roan. Suddenly he smiled, he didn't even realize it.

Roan let herself be dragged away, she didn't say anything. She didn't think she needed to.She wondered where Troy was taking her.

Neves lay half conscious by the tree. Celebrations. She heard them laughing and carrying on. She tried to get up, but the cuts on her stomach hurt, and were bleeding like crazy.

Aiden nodded. "She was the first person to help me after I..." His smile disappeared. "I guess after I was created." His smile was gone, but his golden eyes were still bright.

Aiden looked far ahead.. He could see only one thing in the clearing. When they got closer and he saw Neves, he froze. Was she alright, she was bleeding again...

Aiden ran forward, past Ryo. "Neves," He knelt down beside her. "Are you alright?" He frowned at the blood, the bandages hadnt held.

Aiden looked up at Ryo, then back at Neves, frowning. She would be alright.. She had to. She better not die... Aiden bowed his head, gripping the grass.

Aiden looked at Ryo. "Are you hurt too?" He asked, standing and went over to him and sat beside him.

Aiden looked from Ryo to the skies. He fell backwards onto his back and looked at the trees, his wing spread out on the ground next to him. He saw two brown birds flying and glanced at his single wing. He turned his head to look at Ryo. "Do you think... I could fly...?"

Aiden looked at his wing. Or maybe he could just make it stronger, make himself stronger... And then he wouldn't have to wait so long. He sat up and looked at Neves. He remembered being in pain... He remembered standing there, looking at Neves, and then... Blank. He remembered only a while later Ryo's/Rei's voice. He looked at Ryo. "What happened to me?" He asked quietly. "When I first saw you... What was happening?"

[Maddie]

Troy and Roan got back to camp.

She stirred, and tried to sit up. "Woah... not good."

Aiden leapt up, forgetting his question and ran to Neves. "Are you okay?" He asked, crouching down next to her.

She nodded. "I'm fine. Let's just get out of this place," she said, looking up at him.

Roan smiled but still didn't speak. She realized she was still holding Troy's hand. She didn't know what to think of that.

Aiden looked at Roan and Troy. "Neves woke up... She says we need to leave." He didn't hear anything, but he couldn't be sure.

"Wait, where do we need to go?" Roan asked Aiden.

Aiden shrugged. "She didn't say." His stomach growled loudly. He winced, he felt empty. "What was that?" He wondered, bewildered.

Neves stood, and leaned on the tree. "The sooner we reach that farm the better."

Troy looked at all the injured people, "We can go yet."

Neo turned Kristen around and pushed her farther into the woods so that they couldn't see anyone and no one could see them, then he kissed her.

Owen came back to the camp and smiled when he saw Roan was alright. He glanced around but didn't see Neo, he unconsciously relaxed.

Kristen smiled and kissed him back, when the kiss broke she smiled, "I love you."

[Madeline]

Neo just kissed her again as an answer.

Kristen smiled. Troy looked around, "Where are Neo and Kristen?"

Aiden heard sounds coming from far behind them in the forest. "I think they went that way." He heard Kirsten mutter something. What did she say? He looked at the others. "What does 'I love you' mean?" He asked. Then he frowned. "Never mind.... I guess I should find out on my own... Not a very good question anyway..."

Calin looked behind him in the attic. Sevira stood smiling at him. "The first lesson starts today." She said. Calin shrugged and turned away. "I doubt there is enough that I could learn from a spirit that has no idea what..."

Calin looked at her. Sevira chuckled. "Well I think I can. I almost did once, but I got rejected. If you don't believe me I could try to posses you." She tilted her head, inspecting him. "Alright," Calin stood straighter. "I believe the least this while do is test the strength of my spirit." Suddenly Sevira disapeared and Calin went blind. Well, not exactly blind, his spirit was no longer fully attached to his body. But he wasn't totally severed. It was as though he were visiting the veil again, except he could feel himself being pulled towards the veil. He was dying. No. He wouldn't lose this match. He didn't really move, but the stronger his spirit was and the more focused he was, the further he got from the veil. When people say your life passes before your eyes when you die, usually it is because you want to know if your life was complete... but it was really a distraction. For those with goals, dreams, desires, of any kind, you look for that, because everyone is human and has those things. Calin knew he didn't need to focus on life, he didn't need to focus on if he had completed anything.... What was there to do or look forward to? Born and taken, experimented on, grow up, be put in a container and sleep for years. Not much. So Calin was able to focus on his spirit and body, don't get distracted. Suxddenly he was back, on the ground, but in his body. Sevira was there too, she looked more solid, not as much a spirit. "Strengthened us both." She remarked. "Soon, I will no longer be a spirit." Calin sat up. "Hm." He wondered about a lot of things, like if he could posses people, not fully, but motivate them, or weaken them. Sevira smiled. "You can try right now." Calin chuckled and shook his head. "You can read my mind." "And you can mine. But you won't find too much." Calin nodded. "What did you think I could try this on?" Sevira nodded. "The dog, see if you can kill it." Calin closed his eyes to focus and sensed the spirit. He went to it, coaxed it away from the body, it was simple, no words, no thoughts, he just did it. Sevira smiled. Calin opened his eyes and looked out the small window. It was dead alright... But it wasn't a dog. A mother knelt next to her dead son, maybe five years old. "You don't have to lie to me." Calin said, looking at her. "Humans were the ones who did this to me." Sevira disappeared.

Owen sighed. "I think we should all get some sleep and continue on our way tomorrow." He suggested. Looking at Roan and Troy to see if they agreed.

Roan turned to Aiden, "Well, love depends on the context. It could be anything from a deep passion, to admiration for a good friend."

Aiden looked at Roan, relieved that no one thought his question a bother... "What's passion and admiration?"

Roan bit her lip as she thought about a simple way to define those words, "Admiration is when you look up to someone in a good way, and you support them. Passion is.... passion... Well, that may have to be one you learn on your own as you fall in love with someone.."

Again it had to do with someone else. "Does passion have anything to do with kissing?...." He shuddered, remembering Ryo telling him about kissing.

"Passion isn't only about people... you could be passionate about art or food, or books!" Owen added. "Have you ever loved something or loved doing something so much it's made you want to cry? That could be considered passion."

Aiden thought a moment. "I don't know what I like..." He looked at Owen and Ryo. "What do you two like?" He asked.

Troy stood hoping to stay out of the conversation.

Kristen smiled, "Beach or the group?" She asked Neo in a whisper.

"Pie." Owen grinned and his eyes glinted. "I miss pie. Roan can we get pumpkin pie? Please?!" He gave her a sad, pleading look.
