Roan relaxed at Aiden's touch.
"I'm sorry, I just got a little worked up, because I didn't like the way Troy was yelling at you. But let's move on. I'm Roam"

Aiden nodded. The name, in a strange way, relaxed him. "So, this," he tried not to look at the wing, but he pointed to it. "It's normal?"

"For an experimental," Roan replied, opening up her two giant sapphire wings. "But if you walked around a human society with that... well, who could say what would happen."

Aiden stared at the wings. Suddenly, strangly, he felt small, with only one wing, compared to those two magnificent wings. "Human society?" He asked.

Roan folded her wings again, and answered, "There are people, lots of them, who look basically like the scientist does." Then she commented to herself, "And how his assistants use to look..." She then continued: "Their world is the normal world, and we would be rejects if we entered it undisguised."

Aiden tilted his head. "What's a scientist?" Aiden thought that he would have trouble pronouncing the word, but when he actually said it it wasn't so bad. "Is it something important?"

Roan frowned, "The scientist isn't an it, but a who. He is the man who organized our creation. I would guess that he has a name, but he's never told any of us. Since you don't even remember what a human is, maybe you should come see him. Oh, and some lady named Valerie showed up here, I'll show you her as well."

Aiden frowned and followed her.

Roan turned and grasped Aiden's hand, "We should probably hurry so we can leave soon. Troy is being impatient right now."

Roan giggled, "That's the one!"

"oh." Aiden listened intently as Roan giggled, he liked that sound, fresh and a relief, at least to him.

Roan dragged the new boy down the hall and peeked into the room where Valerie was attending to the ill scientist.
"The scientist fell ill while he was removing some weird tumor from Lee, the panda girl. They say he's dieing but Neves and I are only willing to leave him because Valerie is here. Though we don't really know who she is..."

Aiden looked. The people looked just like him and Roan, minus the wings. He looked up at Roan.

"Just remember that humans don't have the animal like features we experimentals have. They won't have claws, fir, scales, gills, wings, tails, cat ears," Roan looked at Aiden to see if he understood. She pushed her light blue hair out of her face and turned away from the room.

Aiden stayed close to her, trying not to stand to close that he might offend. "Where are we going?" he asked.

"Back to Troy and the others. We're going to finally escape now." She gestured to the cells around them. "The others had to stay down here. I gave my loyalty to the scientist, so I had better conditions, but now I'm known as the traitor among the other experimentals."

Aiden didn't understand completely, but he did realize that no one likes a traitor. He didn't get it, how Roan was a traitor. But she had helped him out when she had no reason to. Aiden hesitated then slid his hand into hers. "you're good. Thank you." he whispered softly.

Lee accidently took a wrong cornor and soon became lost.

Troy looked around once Roan and Aiden were returning, "Where is Lee?" He suddenly blurted.

"Guys? Hello? Troy, Owen, anyone?" Lee said running through the halls not knowing where everyone was.

Aiden sensed someone far behind them. He didn't know how, but he faced that way and pointed."there is someone over there. Is it him?" maybe he had heard them.

[Catherine]

Lee continued to run looking for her firnds.

[Maddie]

Troy took off down the hall and stopped around the corner "Lee!" he called.

[Catherine]

Lee kepted running, "where is everyone?"

Aiden heard running, but it was hopeless to figure where it was coming from. He frowned, knowing he was useless. "I'm sorry." he spoke quietly.

Aiden felt ashamed, that he had failed. He was worried that Roan wouldn't like him now, yet he succeeded in keeping his expression neutral. ((not sure I spelled that last word correctly... Oh well))

The Scientist hadn't predicted the severity of the illness or how fast it would spread, or how fast it would retreat for that matter. He just knew that he wasn't dying right now. The cocktail of drugs he injected resulted in a splitting headache, but he was alive. Barely. His heart sank when his phone beeped, and showed the notification that his central computer had been vandalized. Most likely, all of his information had been tampered with or destroyed. He sighed. He fully intended to uphold his end of the bargain he had made with the experiments, but the fact that they had betrayed his trust. He was letting them go, and they had destroyed his information. Unbeknownst to them, he kept a copied file of everything from his now broken computer--and much more--on his phone. He knew he shouldn't mourn the gossamer of trust he had bestowed upon the experiments, but he couldn't help but feel dejected. He sat up, and frowned. Spineless creatures. He had treated them like humans for once, and they had spat in his face, choosing the path of malicious cowardice rather than to uphold their end of the bargain.

Lee kept running, but when she came to a flight of stairs she just froze, "I wonder if their down there?" she said quietly then shouted, "Troy? Owen? Are you guys there?"

Nana was wandering around when she hear Lee calling. "Lee?" She called out.

"Um. In a hallway." Nana muttered to herself but called out to Lee,, "I'll stay here. Just follow my voice."

"Alright." Lee shouted then started to run again faster this time.

Owen shook his head as he came back to the present. "Sorry, spaced for a moment. Who's this?" He tilted his head to the side and stared at Aiden curiously. He started to circle him and grinned. "Griffins are awesome, therefore you, whoever you may be, are awesome."

He looked around, silently counting heads. "Where's Lee? And Daemona for that matter? Damn it, if I lost her I would never forgive myself."

Valerie watched two experiments enter and exit the room with wonder. "Amazing. Why did that boy only have one wing?" She asked the scientist with a small amount of worry.

"My name is Aiden..." he said slowly.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Owen!" He leaned in closer and lowered his voice so only Aiden could hear him. "And probably the only cool person here, but don't tell anyone I said so." He pulled back with a grin then remembered he was supposed to be worried about his cat and became, mostly, serious again. "Seriously does anyone know what happened to Daemona?!"

Lee kept running through the halls calling out everyone's names till someone responds.
