Gail Double | 3 comments The Sony Ereader site advertised that free apps for mobile devices would be available in December? I don't see anything on the website yet. Anyone know what's up?

my guess is so both apps can be released at the same time.

The Sony Reader app for Android has just been released and is available from Android Market. There are conflicting reports on which is the minimum requirements for the app. It is either compatible with Android 2.0 and above; or just Android 2.2 or above.

I don't have an Android device, but it would be interesting to hear which it is.

Jaylia3 | 2 comments I installed this app on my LG Ally which just got the upgrade to the 2.2 operating system so I don't know if it would work with early versions. It's fun to have the books I purchased on my phone, but it can't sync pages with my Sony 350 because, of course, the 350 doesn't have direct internet access. So far the app doesn't show page numbers--maybe an upgrade to the app will do this--but for now this also makes it harder to pick up reading where you left off. It's a large app and the one thing that really irritates me is that it comes preloaded with 6 books and book samples that it is not possible to delete. Still, it is a great addition to the other reading apps I use on my phone--Kindle, Aldiko, Overdrive, and Google Books. Android reading apps are what made me decide to buy an ereader--before that I thought I would always prefer books in their hard copy format.

Gail Double | 3 comments I finally downloaded it. It's pretty cool. I didn't understand why I had to enter my Adobe login and password. I am bummed that it doesn't sync with the ereader. I have the PRS 900 so I do have 3G.
