I'm sure I will be! Since finishing school I've had so much extra time while looking for a new job since my current one is only part-time. I also have 2.5 weeks off at the end of June to use up some comp time before the new fiscal year starts. I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time outside reading! lol

It also helps that I've been using the liary more often than I did before. This encourages the extra reading when I only have 3 weeks to read 10 books. :)

I have this one in my stacks!! I hope to get to it this year...We'll see!

Stacie Vetsch It was pretty good. Not what I expected. I can't say there was much of a plot (in my opinion), but Christopher is an easy character to love. :)

I adored him and I loved the book, although I accepted the fact that it is not a great story or anything but the story of Christopher was good :) I have just finished this one as you can understand I am still under it's effects :D

Yay Stacie!!! You get to be the first person that reached their 2011 goal. Would you like me to move you over or are you going to adjust your goal? From a technical point you are so DONE and we can move you over if you want :)

Congrats!!!!

message 127: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch Charleen - Well, I'm aiming for 110 this year, but with the extra free time I have since I've only been working part-time and haven't found a full-time job yet I may need to make it higher..lol

Andrea - I guess it's up to you! You can go ahead and move me over with you want. Either way is fine with me :)

THANKS for the Congrats!

Can't wait! And congrats on finishing your challenge!! WoooooHoooo!!! You said your personal goal is 110, but if you finished 75 in less than half the year then I bet you could reach 150 by years end! lol

message 133: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch That would definitely be a new record for me! I hit 81 I think last year, and I just finished my 81st for this year. I think it helps that they've mostly been YA this year...lol. I feel like I'm cheating!

message 140: by Karol (new)

Karol Stacie, this is overdue - but congrats on surpassing 75!

message 141: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch Kay- Thanks you! :)

Andrea- I thought it was okay. I can't say it's a book I would normally pick up, but it did hold my interest. At times it was slow-moving, but I think overall it shows us a lesson to be learned.

Hmm, I kind of thought it wasn't my kind of book when I read the back. I really like the author though so I may read it at some point. I see you are also reading the Uglies series! I read the first book and I kind of liked it even though I'm not a big sci-fi/fantasy kind of reader. Is it worrth reading the others if I liked the first one?

message 145: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch I think the Uglies series got better as the books went on! The last book was a little confusing at first because it wasn't what I was expecting, but once I got into it I thought it was great. Out of the 4 books, I would say I liked #3 the best :)

Christy (christy_t) Although it's long overdue, Congrats Stacie! It looks like you are still going strong despite having met your goal for the year.

I don't feel the need to buy the series so I'll just wait until they are available at the library :)

message 149: by Stacie (new)

Stacie Vetsch Christy- Thank you! I have some time off of work and the weather hasn't been cooperating to finish up some stuff I wanted to do so I've spent the time off reading!

Andrea- I've actually been getting all of my books from the library lately. I have 3 different library systems available to me because of the area I live and travel in on a regular basis. It curbs the spending that way :). I realized that most of the books I buy (except for my favorite authors) I give away to someone or sell in our rummage sale. That adds up to a lot of cash spent on books that I'm unlikely to read again. The latest books I picked up from B&N were because I was given a gift card for graduation. I can't imagine how much I would have spent on books if I bought all the ones I've read in the last couple of months.

Chrisrty, I realized the same thing a couple of years ago and stopped buying books for the most part. I do buy some books for my Nook and also books I know I will keep. I have over 600 unread books, I have no reason to buy any books! When I'm tempted to buy a book I think this in my head and usually have no problem talking myself into putting it down and going home...hahah
