time to confess: how many books did you buy this year?

I only purchased about 10 books in 2010.

My husband probably bought 30 or 40. I can't be sure, because I don't often know when he buys something. This is his version of 'not buying any books'. He used to buy a lot more.

I'm doing better. I only acquired 37 books in 2012. Down from:

2011: 112
2010: 194
2009: 203

Nearly all of these books are used. Very, very cheap books.

I'm also doing better about getting rid of books I don't want.

I would say my accumulated physical books for this year was around 40. The downloaded for free variety is a rather obscene number.

Hmm I think I got 5-10 books as gifts, bought 3 e-books, 15 audiobooks and around 90 regular books :-)

I don't think I purchased a single book in 2012. I read mostly from the library. I was probably given about 10 as gifts, though -- mostly fashion/costume books and cookbooks.
