At Hogwarts there are a lot of ghosts... Can some of the characters be ghosts?

Name:The Moody Mer-man (Nicknamed Swimmy)

Appearance:Ghostly(Obviously), glowing green, see- through, long beard, long cloak, flies a lot
History:People call him either the Merman, or Swimmy because 60 years after he graduated from Hogwarts he came back to see if the giant squid in the Great Lake was there. (They were really good friends.) Well, He found out that the squid was still there, and missed him terribly. The squid reached out to give him a big hug, but the hug ended up being way too tight.... and too deep under water. Anyway, he now lives a happy life as a Hogwarts ghost, and still visits the squid every once an a while. Since then Swimmy has developed a terrible fear of water, and spends most of his time in the kithens. He is great friends with the house elfs.
Other:He is extremely sensetive. That is why he's the Moody Merman. When you're around him, don't mention anything squid related or water related. Don't even say you need more ink for your pen, or want a glass of water. He gets along fine with most students as long as they follow those rules.

He does not officially belong to any house, but tends to favor Hufflepuff students.
