Picture Perfect (picturesperfect) | 312 comments Person One: It's against my religion.
Person Two: Are you gay then?
Person One: What? This is quite appalling! How dare you even ask that to me? I'm Christian. That is a no.
Person Two: Then, why do you care so much about who other people want to be with? The world is a big place. I doubt you can spy on everyone. It's not your life; it's theirs.

Okay, I mean no offense to everyone about that. But I'm just trying to process my thoughts into actual words.

Life is short, people. No, that doesn't mean we can run around and be extreme adrenaline junkies. But that also doesn't me that we can hide in a corner and shake our heads at everything. The world does not thrive on ignorance or what my dad calls, "Selective mind-focus." Yeah, Dad, that's pretty much ignorance.

Oh and about atheists, atheism almost seems like a religion with the way some atheists act like, "The whole I-can-do-anything-I-want-and-not-have-morals thing." That annoys me a lot because atheism is actually not really a religion but a belief. It's like saying, "Polytheism." I consider religion to have morals and all that stuff to it.

Oh, and it always interests me how these debate topics quickly turn into religious debate things. So...hmmm

Hey, now. Just because atheists don't have a religion doesn't mean they're without morals. At all

And atheism isn't a belief... it's the lack of any beliefs.

message 904: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 1017 comments I've never met an Atheist who is like "I can do what I like and not have morals." And Atheism is not a religoin. It's a lack of religion. Atheists have morals too.

Really, I feel like you should get more credit for being a good Atheist than a good Christian, because people are Good Christians so they go to Heaven and Atheists don't have any such incentive. = )

I'm not following your train of thought here. Not trying to argue, I just literally don't understand what you mean.

message 906: by Acacia (new)

Acacia (acaciaa) Well in a lot of ways, it started out as a religious debate. Nobody yet has used a non-religious means of backing an anti-gay-marriage platform.

No, it's not that. We want to get as many people as possible to hear the Gospel and get them to heaven. A lot of Christians aren't that Christian-ly and don't try, though.

Actually, being a good Christian shouldn't be about getting to Heaven. It should be about spreading God's love and word around and reuniting with him for all eternity.

But we're getting too religious here.

Personally, I don't see anyone here hating on anything just because they're a Christian, but I do see people hating on Christians here ALL THE TIME. Everybody has the right to their own beliefs, and even though it'd make my life if everyone loved God, I obviously can't force anything on anyone, and I wouldn't want to. But I think it's extremely rude to be telling Christians that they are ignorant because they don't believe in being gay but they don't follow some of the Jewish rituals in the Bible. I agree with Emily. You guys have so much tolerance for gay people, but where is the tolerance for Christianity?

I think the support for gays over Christianity is because being gay is not a choice. Being a Christian is. Everyone chooses their own beliefs, but you can't choose your sexuality.

Okay, well, I hate on people. But not on specific groups of people and I don't do it based on what the believe. I just hate on people I don't like, which I'm pretty sure everyone does.
