I always try to go for the shoe. The car is too flashy. Slow and steady. Also, good game tip, be a slum lord. I have won more games by owning the entire low rent row. Always surprises those snooty Boardwalk/Park Place types.

I go for the hat always! Allows me to feel serious and avoid distractions. I have to say though - I always try to get the Boardwalk/Park Place first and if not, railroad utilities. In most of my wins, owning the utilities really helped.
