Here's another one I found! I'm having fun. XD
There was once a queen who had two sons. When she grew old and close to death she sent for her sons. “I want you to ride your horses to Jerusalem. The one whose horse arrives last will inherit everything I own.”
The two princes mounted their horses. But, since each knew his horse had to arrive last if he was to win, both sons rode as slowly as they possibly could. One was forever trying to lag behind the other. When they finally reached the outskirts of Jerusalem, both sons stopped. Neither dared go a step closer for fear of getting there first and thus letting the other arrive last and inherit the kingdom.
They sat for a day. Then two. They sat for a week and began to feel as if they’d spent the rest of their lives sitting at the edge of Jerusalem with nothing to their names. Then, suddenly, both sons had the same idea. They each jumped on a horse and rode to Jerusalem as fast as they could go. What made them change their minds and find a way to end the competition?
There is a different version of this, but I can't remember how it goes. And be careful. If you've heard this before, don't say anything, 'cause then it's not fair to the person who wants to guess.
And no one I've told this to has ever guessed right on their first try. *maniac grin*

yes, riley's answer does make sense! It doesn't matter if they are in jeruselum or not, as long as their horse arrives last, they win.
So (oh, I'm expanding on your idea riley!!!) at the end when they jump on a (a seems to be the key word) horse and ride as fast as they can, they take each other's horses, not their own. Because if one brother takes his brother's horse into the city before his own horse arrives in the city, he wins!
High five to riley for the unintentional working together on this riddle!

Exactly! Good job, you three! You guys are good. O.k... lets see if I can think of another...
Go ahead! I want to hear this one. Lets see if I can guess first this time...

Three friends check into a motel for the night and the clerk tells them the bill is $30, payable in advance. So, they each pay the clerk $10 and go to their room. A few minutes later, the clerk realizes he has made an error and overcharged the trio by $5. He asks the bellhop to return $5 to the 3 friends who had just checked in. The bellhop sees this as an opportunity to make $2 as he reasons that the three friends would have a tough time dividing $5 evenly among them; so he decides to tell them that the clerk made a mistake of only $3, giving a dollar back to each of the friends. He pockets the leftover $2 and goes home for the day! Now, each of the three friends gets a dollar back, thus they each paid $9 for the room which is a total of $27 for the night. We know the bellhop pocketed $2 and adding that to the $27, you get $29, not $30 which was originally spent. Where did the other dollar go?
i know that it has something to do with the fact that it's X3... or that they didn't actually pay nine dollars each or SOMETHING!!!
Wait! something...
$25 in the desk...two dollars to the bellhop, three dollars to the friends. If you subtract from the $30 the clerk was paid it works.
but let's ignore the belhop's two dollars and say they paid $28, oh nevermind, that just messes it up even more.
wait, I think I've got it! you have to subtract the $2 the belhop took from the $27 because $27 was the amount they paid, and two of it went to the belhop. so, the $27 dollars is split between the clerk and the belhop. the remaining three dollars are in the girl's pockets!
so, by doing that, you don't count what the bellhop has in the total they paid at all! because they didn't directly pay him two dollars! so really, adding correctly, it should be $25 in the drawr + $2 the belhop took= the $27 paid dollars. $27 paid dollars+ 3 returned dollars = $30!!!!
YES I GOT IT!!!

yes! I bet I'm one of the few people who have actually figured it out and not given up. I bet that most people just have somebdoy tell them the answer.
I mean, that was annoying to figure out!
okay...riddle...riddle...
why did the turkey cross the road?

no, that's not why. It is a lame answer. the riddle is from a string cheese wrapper that my friend had in 4th or 5th grade. But guess again!
eh, close enough. Because the chicken was sick! ((haha, just like me. Except I just have a cold, and the chicken had some bird disease probably))
