I gave you guys a ridiculously long time to put your characters up and kept reminding you. e.e

*~Silvypoo~* (Chaser of Artemis) (Silverfur) | 14363 comments F me. Could someone please tell me which side fights for what? Apparently, I didn't pay attention dot half the year last year. >.<

*~Silvypoo~* (Chaser of Artemis) (Silverfur) | 14363 comments Okay. Thanks.

message 57: by Jo (new)

Jo (Penname8) | 4150 comments I had an idea so amazingggggg....
Look, once the war passes someone should like, make like the next big The Iliad...
And I also had this idea: when the survivors of the war tell the story, the Demeter cabin will make a mosaic out of flowers in the fields...
I know. Every good idea sucks when you tell it.

message 58: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) I thought it was a good idea, Josephine. So, are you mods still taking characters for this? And if so, how exactly is this working? Are we using some of our characters instead of playing the original ones? I browsed the threads and I'm a little confused.

message 59: by Moon (new)

Moon (moonstonesandbooks) | 3694 comments Erm, so the killing of charries will proceed? I'm slightly confused.

Sure, Jo, that's a great idea, but I'm iffy about the next Iliad.

What I was thinking is this: When a character dies in the alternate universe, their bodies disappear and are found later in a cave, preserved in crystal. One near to the Greek war camp, another in the palace of Troy. They'll all be brought back to life when the war is over. Whoever wants their character to legitimately die, however-- those would be the ones whose bodies are burned in the funerary way, because the heroes don't know that the dead will be brought back to life. So if you want a character to die permanently, then have their bodies be cremated. If not, then their bodies will appear in the crystal cave thing and be brought back to life.

Keep in mind, there is no Underworld in this universe, so those who are cremated's spirits should be roaming around. That's how the heroes can find out that the caves exist and you shouldn't cremate.

No, we're not taking anymore characters, sorry... but there was ample time to submit :/

Excellent! I guess then that I'll have Melle and Enna cremated, along with Philo.

Love the idea, Whim.

This is completely off topic, but amusing:
If we waited another year to have the Trojan War reenactment, it would be the chaos of 2012...
It might be because it's five in the morning and I didn't sleep until about midnight that I find this to be quite hilarious, 'cause it's one of those days where everything is funny.
Just realized there's an unintentional find joke in there.
Immana shut up now.

*~Silvypoo~* (Chaser of Artemis) (Silverfur) | 14363 comments This isn't where you put the charries I see. *changes subject before acting like a n00b*

Do you want us to post who'll be cremated abd who will leave and/or die then come back?

message 67: by Moon (new)

Moon (moonstonesandbooks) | 3694 comments All the charries in the TW should wear only ancient Greek clothing, in my opinion. They should wear those tunics.

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol Alex. That would be cool.

Moonstonesandbooks wrote: "All the charries in the TW should wear only ancient Greek clothing, in my opinion. They should wear those tunics."

Yep. ^^ Clothes and some foods are there at their disposal, as well as horses and pegasi. But no modern clothes-- just ancient Greek battle gear, men's clothing, and women's clothing.

message 70: by Usako (new)

Usako (bbmeltdown) | 1898 comments Men - Tunics & Togas. Armor is breastplate, backplate, leather skirt, arm guards, greaves.

Women - Stolas & Pallas. Women didn't typically fight if they did, same armor as men.

Weaponry - swords, bows, arrows, spears, shields.

Togas, stolas, and pallas are all Roman attire ^^

http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch....

Warriors in ancient Greece developed many methods of protecting themselves in battle. Mycenaeans, who ruled Greece as early as 1600 B.C.E. , crafted armor out of bronze plates. Soldiers wore suits made of bronze plates held together with leather straps. This armor protected the body from the neck to the upper thighs. Soldiers strapped additional bronze plates over their shins for leg protection and wore helmets made of boar's tusks. Mycenaean soldiers also carried a variety of different wooden framed shields and bronze daggers and swords.

The soldiers of the Greek state of Sparta became very specialized by the seventh century B.C.E. Called hoplites, these foot soldiers received special training and wore protective bronze armor. Hoplites' armor was more flexible than earlier armor. Hoplites also wore bronze leg guards called greaves and bronze helmets with cheek guards that were decorated on top with plumed crests of horsehair, resembling a mohawk. They also carried bronze or leather shields with a long spear and a short sword.

Chitons of linen/cotton/silk in summer and wool in winter.

If you bothered to read the actual OUTLINE of this, then you'd see that this is DIFFERENT.

*~Silvypoo~* (Chaser of Artemis) (Silverfur) | 14363 comments I'm doubting this, but will our characters be aware of who they are?

Like, would Myra know that her boyfriend is Lucas? I figured I'd better make sure before it started.

message 79: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
Yeah. Everyone knows who they are.

*~Silvypoo~* (Chaser of Artemis) (Silverfur) | 14363 comments Okay. That's a relief. Thanks!

Lightfeather ☼☺♥ (lightfeatherbethany) Whim, could you have a running summary of what happens in the rps? That way, people who have 600 new posts to read up on can understand what's happening. Or curious fans (such as myself) who don't have a charrie can follow?

Yes. It does. :)

--> Yeah, Light, I will. I'll post it periodically. But just if your character doesn't have an OFFICIAL part doesn't mean they aren't part of it!! All campers will be transported to the alternate universe ;)

We're not doing this anymore. We need Usako and Van. Usako's gone and Van hasn't posted her characters, and also I don't think anyone's active enough.

Cloudy Storms (cloudstrife) | 938 comments It's basically a Trojan War. On your computer.

No, your computer won't lag because so MANY TROJANS are INVADING FROM the plot. I think you should save this as a Microsoft Word Document in LOCAL DISK DRIVE (C:).

If you get my joke, it's a bad one.

message 94: by Annie (new)

Annie I know the plot (sortanotreally) I'm just so out of it thanks to my vacation.
