What is it that makes you crave reading her books or makes you a fan of hers?

message 2: by Arch (new)

Arch | 91 comments I like Anne Stuart's writing style. Plus, I want to read the rest of her ice series.

willaful | 45 comments Hmm, interesting question. She's a very reliable author, in my experience. Not all her books are great, but they're pretty safe bets. And they're exciting and filled with tension.

Bekah (bekah317) | 7 comments they are addictive..that sense of danger is titillating and exciting.

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) THE MEN. And the tension, the mood, the dialogue (especially in her historicals), the humour (again, in her historicals). And did I mention the men?

Even if you don't like the book (which has happened to me), they are still compulsively readable.

Arch | 91 comments Yes, I agree with Tammy. I forgot the number one thing that I love in a good catcher as well as writing and that's tension.

The more tension, the better!

Fani *loves angst* (fanip) The men. I love her heroes and I love the fact that after they fall in love with the heroine, they don't turn into lapdogs as it happens in 9 out of 10 romances out there. They still keep their original character and individuality. I also like the fact that neither the heroes, nor the heroines are picture perfect. They all are flawed and thus more realistic. And when she decides to add humor in her dialogues, well, I love her wit and sarcasm. Love it!

Arch | 91 comments I agree Fani. The heroes stay the same and that's what I like to see. If a hero is a dangerous bad boy, I don't think that he should change, because he fell in love.

The only time I would want him to change, is if he was being a bad boy to the heroine. We have seen Anne's bad boys be bad to the heroine. He has made her hate him.

That behavior has to change.

TJ | 15 comments Here, here! Those men are addictive to read. There is just something about a dark dangerous man who falls hopelessly in love and has to deal with the consequences!

Kythahra | 8 comments Agreed. Bad boy becoming lapdog is one of my biggest turn-offs. Anne knows how to redeem them enough that we can have some confidence in their connection with the heroine, but not so much that we forget why we fell for them in the first place!

Usagi77777772003 | 4 comments She pretty much writes about the most intriguing and hottest heroes (the heroes she churns out suit my preferences more than any other authors' -love her dark "angelic" looking heroes the most). She's also amazingly skilled at creating sexual tension/chemistry between characters. Sigh, if only she can emphasize more on the "obsessive" aspect of her heroes (without them falling out of character) towards their heroines (most of the time, her heroes are not as obsessed or "crazily in love" with the heroine as I hope for them to be...but they are really attractive in temperament). Anne Stuart has to be one of the rare authors who can make her bad boys stay in character (retaining their "wickedness") after falling in love. I've always hated heroes/heroines who totally fall out of character upon falling in love and just become very unattractive. When I want "bad boy falling in love," I really want to see a truly "bad" boy (not a "fake" bad) having to deal with emotions that are foreign to him. When done well, as in not taking the safe way out by having him suddenly become a different person altogether and losing his "gamma" edge, it really makes for some heart-wrenching reading.

Arch | 91 comments I want a bad boy to be bad before he falls in love, when he falls in love and beyond hiim falling in love.

If the bad boy is someone that would shoot someone in a heart beat, I would still like to see him get in that mood, even if he's married to the heroine.

Usagi77777772003 | 4 comments Lol, so true! Only when he's like that can we truly consider him an evil guy who falls in love. If he goes from evil to saint just by falling in love, then he's not really "evil" in the first place. I'd still want him to be in control of everything except when it comes to his feeling for the heroine ("evil" guy displaying vulnerability only to the heroine can be really heart-wrenching).
