[Poet in the Dark]

Mira nodded and her brow furrowed as she thought. "What would Knightz be doing? Would she be following her body?"

[Ji Mei]

Aven shrugged. "Maybe she's spying on this Jett guy, trying to find out how to rejoin with her body?"

[Evee]

Lynx looked upwards, "If I know her, she'll probably be taking advantage of her soulnessnes. She'd probably be looking for a way to get the other people down there out, and if she can, find a way to sabotage them."

She looked at Thera, "If you can find Knightz then I'll can take care of Jett. I think I know how to find a way past his defenses and get her back inside her body. It'll be a long shot though, we have to make sure Knightz soul is there so she'll return to her body."

[Poet in the Dark]

"What can I do?" Mira asked.

[Evee]

Lynx looked at her, "You know the grounds the best. When we hit the underground pipes it's your job to make sure we know where we're going, and to scout out front and make sure there isn't anything unpleasant waiting for us at the front."

She looked at both of them, "Ready?"

[Ji Mei]

Aven raised her hand shyly. "And what about me?"

Mira nodded, her tail flicking with determination.

[Evee]

Lynx eyes went to Aven, "Would you be willing to cover our backs as we move?"

[Ji Mei]

She nodded in answer. "Yeah, I think I can do that."

[Evee]

"Is everybody ready?" Lynx questioned.

Malik put a hand on Lynx's shoulder, "You're not going Lynx. Not just a couple month away from your due date."

Lynx eyed him and sighed, "How did I know you would say that?"

Malik smiled, "I'll be going, don't worry."

Malik looked at them, "Is everyone good?"

[Evee]

Malik smiled and gesturing to the car on the left side of the hangar, "Then be my guest."

Mira looked at Lynx, "We'll bring Matt back. Promise." Then she turned and got into the car, her fangs glinting.

[Ji Mei]

Aven hesitated for a moment before slipping into the back of the car.

[Evee]

Lynx stared at the car hungrily but sat down, "I wont worry." She said with a smile, "After all it wouldn't do to hurt one baby while protecting the other." The smile was forced but she remained calm. Malik moved into the car, "Then let's go." He said quietly, turning on the engine.

[Ji Mei]

She slipped the seat belt across her chest and buckled in out of habit. She shifted into as much comfortable position she could while sitting next to the near strangers in the car.

Mira sat tensely in the car, ready to help them get Matt back any way she could.

[Evee]

Malik went into drive and they took off. A wall opened up and they drove out into the hot sun. In the distance there was grass and mountains but where they were there was dirt, cloudy dirt. Malik went faster and if anyone had looked behind them they would have seen a medium large rock settle down on the entrance they had just come through. They were off.

[Evee]

It was nightfall by the time they reached the edge of the city. Malik carefully pulled into an inconspicuous parking spot of a store. It was in a darkened corner that just happened to view a very professional building across the street, "The entrance." Malik whispered.

[Ji Mei]

Aven stepped out carefully and walked lightly to their side. She nodded to show that she was ready.

[Evee]

Malik took a look at the entrance and smiled, "The entrance is in the sewers." He pointed to a man hole. Taking out a crowbar he levered it open, "Ladys first."

[Evee]

Malik smiled and motioned for Aven to step through.

Mira's ears flattened, but she jumped down into the sewer, landing on her feet in a crouch.

[Ji Mei]

Aven nodded solemnly and stepped through. She shivered as soon as the cold sewer walls closed in on her.

[Evee]

Far down the tunnel there was a faint light. With a small screech the top of the sewer screwed back on and Malik jumped down, "How you doing?" He whispered.

[Ji Mei]

She kept her head down, watching her feet so she wouldn't trip over anything.

[Poet in the Dark]

Mira shook herself, then nodded.

[Evee]

Malik nodded and headed down the tunnel. After a few minutes they came to a a split. Three different ways, above them they heard people walking on the grate. "Which way?"

[Evee]

Malik nodded and headed forward. Above them the sounds of people talking and moving around continued. Then, curiously, the sounds faded away above them. It was silent as they walked. Silent as the dead. After a few minutes Malik looked up. "Are we any near Jett or Knightz?" He looked at Thera.

Mira's ears twitched and her pupils became thin as needles. She looked around, then started forward, "This way."

[Evee]

Malik followed her also.

Mira stopped at a grate in the side of the wall and yanked the rusty thing out of the wall, then climbed in, forced to shift to all fours.

[Ji Mei]

Aven continued after them, lost in her thoughts of home and the her normal life.
