Michael | 88 comments Well, the topic title says it. Here's a link to the press release: http://www.philipkdick.com/media_pr-1...

Pretty cool that Ridley Scott's involved.

Joe Chip | 2 comments Ridley Scott got replaced by aliens along time ago..blade runner / alien were special, but his other work isn't the same. Now someone like Terry Gillian for example at least from a visual stand point would be interesting in my opinion.

Old news to me but i do hope BBC gets him better than the typical hollywood movies they made of his works.

Michael | 88 comments I'm not sure which of the BBC channels it's being made for. Hopefully it's BBC4, which will mean it's likely to be done faithfully and intelligently. I think BBC4 is the likeliest platform for an adaptation of this one.

Michael | 88 comments Shoot, I just re-read the press release and it's going out on BBC1 - that could go either way. They do have some really good literary adaptations on BBC1, but they also have some fairly populist stuff too. Their recent adaptation of Wyndham's Day of the Triffids was very patchy. Oh, well, time will tell!

James (m0gb0y74) | 2 comments Cool, I can't wait to see it. At least it's BBC and not ITV - they would no doubt make a balls of it.

That's very true! A BBC production gives me some hope that it will be well executed.

some very high impressions of the BBC here, i assume nobody is from Scotland?

the BBC generally suck at most things they do and only sometimes get it right usually with a nature program or English sport.

I cant imagine my TV license money being well spent but im willing to give them a chance.

Michael | 88 comments I'm British, Pickle, and I honestly think that the BBC generally produces quality programming. Of course, they also make a lot of crap, but they've got a lot of airspace to fill these days.

A quick search of the internet finds....

.... nothing further on this subject! Hopefully, it's because they're well into filming and it's all secret squirrel. On the other hand, I did find this which was quite interesting: http://www.nerve.com/entertainment/ra...
