Chapter 15 discusses the many ways you can categorize the various items on your site in order to make them easier for customers to find. Often, it’s a good idea to list items under multiple categories since you don’t know whether someone will search for a black suit under “suits,” “business attire,” or “evening wear.”
As you’re walking through these questions on your own website, remember that it’s never enough to make a guess regarding what will keep your customers happy. Instead, it’s vital to test, test, test before you make permanent changes in order to determine what will work best for the group of people shopping at your online store.

Anne | 51 comments A very wise woman once said in a webinar that you would be amazed at the number of results you get when you present your products on flashcards and as friends and family to categorize them.
I like the multitude of tests that come with product placement and descriptions. Of course the challenge is that what works for one category of visitors may not be the language of the other. Hence the reason to Always Be Testing!
