Jelle Peersman (herfst) | 3 comments What is the policy on settings for novels?

I was just looking at The Unbearable Lightness of being, which has Czech Republic and Zürich (Switzerland) as settings. Now, this means that this book shows up for 'books set in Czech Republic' and 'books set in Zürich', but not for 'books set in Prague' or 'books set in Switzerland'. Are we supposed to add countries as well as specific cities, if known?

And what about places that are only (very) briefly touched in a book, but still explicitly mentioned?

Just wondering. :]

I don't think there are any policies on this, but as specific information as exists for a book should be included, I think. Won't the system allow it to be "Prague, Czech Republic"? and the like?

As for how much of a setting needs to be in a book, it's a judgment call.
