I am less successful at stopping myself from correcting others and/or thinking less of them for having different standards than I do. I'm still working on it, though!

It's hard enough to convey nuance using only text. Since you all can't HEAR me, of COURSE I'm going to use the shift key, as well as proper punctuation. I may go nuts and even italicize, when I'm in the right mood! :)

The conventions of standard written English are important to me. Not using them is the equivalent of going out in public in your pajamas. Yes, you're wearing "clothes," but everyone else made more of an effort. Are you a toddler? Are you on a gurney being wheeled into the emergency room? Then okay.
