Sarah | 13814 comments I don't use it at all, and don't get the appeal. We have an account for the bar to announce specials and events, but I'm not involved with that.

A beautiful language, especially for verse.

Félix (habitseven) Weally?

I twittered for the first time two days ago. A friend had asked me to participate in an activity she had set up for charity fund raising. I found it a bizarre experience. I find chatting in here far more satisfying.

message 59: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) When I tried twitter, I ended up following Ashton Kutcher somehow. Then, when I got tired of reading his drivel, I could get rid of him. There is no help from twitter at all. It's pure madness, I tell you.

message 60: by [deleted user] (new)

It's pure madness in here. Or is that just me?

Well, Gail, we have been meaning to say something to you about this--but where to begin?

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Larry, did you just delete a comment? I thought you said that was against the rules?

Harrumph!

Félix (habitseven) What? Where? he says in his best Vinnie Barbarino voice.

Well, Gail, we have been meaning to say something to you about this--but where to begin?"

I know, I'm alone here in my little padded cell, dreaming of flowers and butterflies.

message 66: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) We don't really exist, Gail.

message 67: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments That's not true. Larry doesn't exist.

I, in contrast, am a figment of your imagination.

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

In my head you do. That is all that's important.

message 72: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments It's fun in Gail's head. We have barneys and argy-bargy.

message 73: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Argy-bargy. I haven't thought of that term since the band Squeeze was popular. Long time ago.

message 74: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Rugby commentators use it all the time.

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Ah.

message 77: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Wasn't there a song about a Vegemite sandwich around a million years ago?

Lori It was Men at Work.

Félix (habitseven) I'm a man at work.

Sarah | 13814 comments BunWat wrote: "Sarah Pi wrote: "Zu snuck Marmite onto my sandwich the other night."

Was it a sucessful sneak? Did the marmite go undetected, or at least taste good with the other stuff?"

It tasted better than my previous attempts at marmite, since it was hidden under garlic-chive Crewell cheddar (goodbye, Crewell cheddar) and butter on a thick slab of sunflower-flax sourdough.
However, it did make the sandwich excessively salty, which she viewed as a good thing and I viewed as bad.

message 81: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Gesundheit.

message 82: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I think her taste buds are trained for that saltiness and mine aren't. She's also big on Aromat, a Knorr-made flavor enhancer that is essentially just MSG. I'll admit it's good on eggs, but I don't really miss it when it's not there.
