This was a really good book. It had a sad depressing story about a young girl whos mom died in a fire and her
other relatives abandoned her. Jerri went from having a good family of seven to being thrown in a coal cellar and being told that no one
wants her. Her adoptive father's mother hated her because she wasn't blood related only only her sister was related.
Since her and her brothers were a problem for her step grandmother she sent them to an orphanage. There she and her
brothers were separated, she went through a series of foster homes and none of the people liked her because she had a
clif palate and had a hard time speaking. One of the foster parents made her stay outside all day and take care of
her other childrens. The lady only fed her once a day and always yelled at her about being ugly and fat. After she suffered so much,
she told her social worker she just wanted to stay at the orphanage until she was old enough to live on her own. They said no
at first but later agreed. She was an excellent student and graduated high school. As soon as she was 18 she had to leave the orphanage,
she went to college. There she meet friends and started dealing with real life, it was so hard since she only had a little bit of money.
But she got a job, and later graduated college. She became a nun and then a teacher, where she got to help students that were going
through some of the problems she previously had. She meet with one of her brothers twice and didnt know about her other relatives,
family of her mother. A couple years later her mothers family got in touch with her and said she should come visit, she decided she
would go even though she was mad at them. Now you can read tha rest to see what happens.......
