I'll get in and sort out my books this morning and post while most of the northern hemisphere is asleep.

I was going to just list genres and whomever won, I would go to your book lists, pick a book in the genre of your choice that you haven't read that I think you would like, and send you that. It would be like a Pick It For Me/Pay It Forward amalgamation. But I didn't know how that would go over. Maybe with some positive feedback I'll do that with my next win. ..."
How about we go with Jim's idea for this round/thread? I'm keen to give this a trial and I think a few others were interested as well. It would break up the two 'Pay-It-Forwards' - as Jim suggests: maybe more Pick It For Me :)
Is everyone in?
Isn't this a great idea!?
My suggested categories of which I have some idea:
Paranormal Romance
Historical Romance
Fantasy
Sci-fi (i'm splitting up Jim's speculative category :)
Young Adult
Mild PNR Suspense (think psychic stuff)
Erotica (ebook)
M/M romance (ebook)
So basically, just select a category and post it in this thread, then I get to look through your 'wishlist' to select a book I would recommend you read.
If you win, I'll contact you with my selection before I purchase to make sure you don't have it already. (IF you can assure me that your 'wishlist' definitely doesn't have any books you already own on it, I'm happy to make the book a surprise in the mail!! ;)
I'll send anywhere in the world.
I'll draw the winner on AEST Wednesday afternoon, which is sometime on Wednesday morning for most of you :)
If you win - make sure you have something for me to choose in your preferred category! ;)

Now - if ppl are uncomfortable about this arrangement, I also have tucked away the NORMAL book list raffle (carefully compiled until I remembered Jim's excellent suggestion) ...
So please let me know your thoughts, either way. I can delay the raffle and revert to the normal format if we have a tentative response. :)

Put me down for the Erotica e-book. (besides, it would save you some shipping)

1. Jim - Erotica
2. Penny - M/Mmmmm
3. Emily - PNR
4. Fran - M/M or Erotica
5. Barbara - M/M
6. Valorie - PNR
7. MistressMoon - PNR or YA
8. Vi - Sci-fi
9. Jenn - PNR
10. Sandy - Historical
11. Debbie - my choice *hehehe*
12. AshleyAlexis - M/M

Plus - I think you get a much wider choice of books for erotica and M/M - a lot don't get published in paper - and they cost the earth when they are!...

*actually, I'm in for erotica or m/m - surprise me if I win Jane *

I'll definitely draw this raffle in roughly 48 hours.

I was wondering if you guys want to have a separate thread for this type of book sharing. Whoever wins Jane's raffle, if that person is interested in doing the same thing, can start a new thread. Also will just have a volunteer continue this thread with the regular book sharing.
Feedback?

How about we just rename this thread and continue on here? One Pay-It-Forward thread and one Pick-It-For-Me (and buy) thread - with alternated timing. As I recall, we started the second thread 'cos it was taking too long to turn around with the raffles... (Immediate gratification wasn't fast enough :) This altered style would still deliver the 'excitement'.

Don't worry about the cost - it is significantly cheaper for me to buy a book than it is for me to mail a book I already own! The US has introduced (a couple of months ago) an import tax on parcels - $9/parcel - add Aus postage, and I can't send anything into the US for less than about $18. Way cheaper for me to buy at Book Depository or AllRomance (ebooks) and send direct :)
...I just like being a part of this fun...

Hey Yz - do you want to join in? (C'mon - you know you want to!)

Yeah - international postage is a bummer... Mind you, its expensive within Aus as well. I send books to my god-children and those charges are pretty bad as well.
Thanks for the heads up Debbie - I'll watch the mailbox in a week or so :)

And the winner is:
4!!
Fran - you are IT! I'll be sticky-beaking in your wishlist sometime over the next day or so! And my selection will be a complete surprise - both book and category :) Make sure you are all up-to-date on your books... *so much fun*

Sorry Jim :( ...And I tried to enter Min 1 and Max 1 - my randomiser wouldn't play! Kept changing the Max to 2...

Oh well, you can't win if you don't play. Congrats Fran.

Jim, you will just have to enter my raffle- maybe that will be your lucky one :)

I will choose the winner on Friday evening 11/18 (about 5 p.m. EST).
