Cassie (casswish) Could you put me in for Can You Keep a Secret? Thanks!

message 452: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments I'll close the list a few hours early and do the raffle now.

I always intended to open it to other countries but a few days in and I realized that I hadn't made the offer. Oh well, all it means is that I'll pick several winners. :)

message 453: by D.G. (last edited Mar 19, 2011 03:15AM) (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Using Random.org, I randomized the list of names. The first name will be responsible for the next raffle and the subsequent 3, will just win prizes.

So the winners are....

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Congrats all! Jims gonna be a happy little camper :)

Looking forward to your picks Mistress. Why does it give me a little thrill saying that?!?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Woot! Huzzah! Yippee! and a dozen other exclamations to boot.

I've heard about this book from a couple different groups here and have been waiting for it to show up in our used book store. Our Half-Price Books has a surprisingly large erotica section but this has not made an appearance yet. Thank you so much!

BTW, I love how you made sure to offer books across a wide range of genres. Nicely done.

message 464: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Thanks, Jim. I read all sorts of stuff so I figured I should spread the love. :)

Macwolf01 [Elise] (macwolf01) | 1012 comments Congrats Everyone!!! So are all 4 running the next round?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments According to D.G. MistressMoon is running the next. However, I was thinking that one RRRC pay it forward at a time might not be enough. Some people might like to run a shorter time frame or just international or just US only or whatever. I'll wait to see what MistressMoon puts up for book choices and I might start a second one of these.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

NocturnalRavings(Jodie) (mistrissmoon) | 270 comments Ok,I did the best I could on getting a big variety.(It's not easy being selfish, lol.)
Sorry,I can only ship U.S right now.

1. Master of Ecstasy Master of Ecstasy (Mackenzie Vampires, #1) by Nina Bangs
2. Valley of Silence (Circle trilogy, #3) by Nora Roberts Valley of Silence
3. Mistress of Mellyn by Victoria Holt Mistress of Mellyn
4. Somebody's Baby by Tara Taylor Quinn Somebody's Baby
5 Finding the Dream (Dream trilogy, #3) by Nora Roberts Finding the Dream
6. Rainbows Rainbows (Wheeler Hardcover) by Katherine Stone (It's a bit old and dog-eared.)
7. Sex as a Second Language (Lust in Translation) (Harlequin Blaze #316) by Jamie Sobrato Sex as a Second Language (Lust in Translation) (This was under a lot of other books,so it's a bit warped.)
8. Dylan by Norah Hess Dylan (Dog-eared)
9. Once A Pirate by Susan Grant Once A Pirate (Again,dog-eared.)

Deadline is the 26th,right? Good luck to all! :D

Sounds good to me Jim.

D.G. I'm sorry I have not mailed your book yet it has been a crazy week. My father had a stroke (it's his third!) and is now in a rehab facility for a little while. I packed it up and will mail from work on Monday. Since you are close by you should get it about Wednesday.

message 471: by Joyce (new)

Joyce (eternity21) | 739 comments I'm out on this RRRC raffle as I've read almost all of these already. P.S. The Master of Esctasy was a great read. As was Valley of Silence and you can never go wrong with a gothic from Victoria Holt. That is who I bit my romance teeth on when just a babe.

message 472: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments @Joyce- I'm so sorry to hear about your father- sending my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

@Jim- I think the idea of a shorter wait time is great- it's hard to wait a whole week! Also, I would be fine with a second raffle if that's good with everyone else. :)

message 473: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments #1 Joyce, sorry about your dad. His third one, that's really tough. My thoughts are with you and your family.

#2. Jim a second raffle sounds good to me.

#3. I'm in for Master of Ecstasy please :)

message 474: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Perhaps stagger the second raffle and make it one where the participants are happy to ship o/s so that it doesn't need to be noted at the beginning of each new raffle...

I'm all for having more than one raffle at a time. I just selected one person to run the raffle because that was the way it was done prior when multiple people won.

I think having multiple staggered raffles with different deadlines will definitely add more variety and will get more people involved. I'm just concerned how to keep everybody organized. Should we open different threads with Raffle 1, 2 etc. the way it's done with the Random Book challenge?

OMG, Joyce I'm so sorry about your father! I hope he's getting better.

And don't worry about the book...mail whenever you can...it's not as if I don't have anything else to read!

message 477: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 236 comments Even if I did come in last place it still feels good to win a book! haha Thanks D.G.!

Also, I think more than one raffle at a time is a good idea and/or a shorter time period for each one. :)

message 480: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 2218 comments Congrats MistressMoon and all the other winners!

message 481: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Well, our four winners can run a raffle. We just need to figure out how to do it well organized (I think posting all the raffles here would make it a bit confusing.)

message 482: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments You're welcome, ladies!

I like your idea about running the new raffle's like the random book challenges. I could ship overseas or US if a new thread is started.

message 486: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments I'll just contact Yz to make sure she's fine with it. Maybe she'd rather create its own folder for the raffles or just tag the topics so they show up on top. :)

message 487: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 2218 comments Fantastic! Thanks DG!

message 488: by Joyce (new)

Joyce (eternity21) | 739 comments Thank you everyone for the well wishes for my Dad. He is doing better. But he's frustrated. I had to convince him I need to call the ambulance in the first place...just a stubborn old man. LOL

I definitely think we should have a different thread for each raffle. Perhaps calling it RRRC RAFFLE #2 OVERSEAS. I don't mind shipping overseas. And RRRC RAFFLE #1 US ONLY. And only the people who are willing to ship O/S will participate in both. Does that make sense? I have zombie brains tonight.

message 489: by AlbertaJenn (new)

AlbertaJenn | 0 comments I would definately be interested in an international raffle (being outside the US). And I would be super-stoked if we had a one week turn around.

But that is just me. :-)

Macwolf01 [Elise] (macwolf01) | 1012 comments Joyce, soo sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope he recovers soon.

I'm in for more than 1 at a time :0) I live in Canada but am willing to workout sending overseas or through Book depository now that I know how it works.

Master of Ecstasy for me please!!

MistressMoon is only shipping to the US for this one.

message 492: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Yz has created a new folder for the raffles so we have a new home. :)

As our four participants are willing to do a raffle, we'll create a thread for each. Yz has asked me to monitor the different threads so I'll start the thread for each raffle and change the name whenever we have the next raffle stating whether the person is willing to ship overseas and the due date.
