Noran Miss Pumkin Has anyone read a book, where the detective does not solve the case? I was wondering. I am referring to Fiction.

Hmm.... Good question I can't quite think of any.

Closest I can come up with is the film version of Zodiac, and The Ripley books.

Then again Ripley is the protagonist and he's just making everyone look stupid so I'm not sure if that counts.

Lisa Barton (cultjam) | 3 comments There's the book The Colorado Kid by Stephen King. I wasn't crazy about that one, though. It was one put out by the Hard Case Crime publishing company. I was expecting something better. It was kind of plodding and the characters weren't very interesting.

But it is an example of a novel (novella) where the crime isn't solved.
