Why, Mary, did you choose to read this book, and is it satisfying your interest? Have you read enough to recommend it or not?

I'm still working on it. It's not light reading. In fact, I'm taking a pause because I'm out of steam and reading Live Not by Lies: A Manual for Christian Dissidents by Rod Dreher at the moment.

There’s a fee $15 to register.
THE ROBE ~ This is the story of the Roman guards who won the robe of Our Lord rolling dice.. I am really enjoying this book. I love historical fiction so this really fits. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

I’m currently reading Militant by Michael Voris which I’m finding it a hard read and I started reading A light in the window by Jan Karon
Ciara wrote: "I just finished The diary of a country priest by Georges Bernanos"I got Diary in French for Christmas. Looking forward to reading it.
I'm currently reading The Glories of Mary. I love his writings! He just has a way with his wording that never fails to strike a chord within me. Which is phenomenal considering the fact that he died in the late 1700s! I feel the same about St. Theresa of Avila's works. I'm taking my time with this and am not very far in, but I already love this book.
Adela wrote: "I just finished reading Silence, by Shusaku Endo, and I really really recommend it :D" Reading it now and LOVE it!
Lucas wrote: "I'm on the Last part of The Count of Monte Cristo (never watched the movie), and I can say for sure that it is worth the one thousand pages"Oh Lucas this book is AMAZING thanks for recommending!

Three Philosophies of Life: Ecclesiastes—Life As Vanity, Job—Life As Suffering, Song of Songs—Life As Love by Peter Kreeft
Wedding Flowers Will Do For a Funeral by Christopher LansdownA murder mystery. The investigators are friars, who also give sound advice.
I just finished Blackout by Candace Owens, and am now catching up on Lives of the Saints so I can finish before the new year.
I finished The Glories of Mary a short time ago, and it was beautiful! Particularly the meditations on the seven dolors of our Blessed Mother. I highly recommend it!
One Bright Star to Guide Them by John C. Wrighta fantasy work following a character who had been in a Narnia-like tale when younger -- and it comes back to him in his middle age
I'm reading Understanding Divine Mercy by Father Chris Alar. It is excellent! He always has such a way with words, and his points are so easy to comprehend.
I've been reading We Die Standing Up by Dom Hubert Von Zeller. Wonderful book. The other book I use and always find helpful is the Sinners Guide by Ven. Louis of Granada.
Christine wrote: "The Count of Monte Cristo, a classic and wonderful read!"Just finished this last year. So much is in that book.
Christian Just War Theory: The Logic of Deceit, by Rev. Charles McCarthy An exposé on the mutual exclusivity of loving one’s enemies and killing them.
Slowly making my way through Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist: Unlocking the Secrets of the Last Supper. Fascinating so far, with historical / cultural context I have not read about before.
I recently re-read The Aquinas Catechism and enjoyed it immensely. A couple of nights ago I began Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement: The Wisdom and Spiritual Power of Venerable Bruno Lanteri since I seem to be in a dry spell. Oh, how I hate those. But I'm still soldiering on, and it will pass. This book has some wonderful insights!

You know, our dry spells, our temptations, our crosses are all allowed by Our Lord. We embrace them and it makes it much easier, we offer them up to Our Lord and that helps. St. Michael, Pray for us! Keep moving on, many blessings!
