My large chunk comes after 9pm, when the kids go to bed. Before that time, I try to read while the kids are playing or reading but I have to put it down often since they keep interrupting me every five or ten minutes. When I have a good book in my hands, I'll even stay up long after hubby sleeps, but I don't do that often since I have to get up early for work. But I do carry the book with me everywhere I go with the chance I'll sneak a view at a couple of lines at least:)
I know its so hard when you're in the middle of a great book to NOT pick it up while at work. I used to have to leave it in my car..otherwise, I'd keep peeking and 15 minutes would turn into 30 minutes!

I read when it's slow at work, I read in the car at stoplights, and at night before bed, and on the weekend. I squeeze it in when I can.
lol...in the car at stoplights!! I have done that...but only with a really really good book.. one of those 5 star reads!

I listen to audiobooks when I'm driving to and from work. I also listen to audiobooks while at work when I have time. Having an actual book on my desk, would be very frowned upon where I work, so with my earbuds in place, everyone is happy: they think I listen to some music while working, while I do some work while listening to books:)
I've done that too Fani! I found it difficult to split my concentration though. So I only do that when I'm doing a refresher on a book ..like before the movie comes out or we're going to do a discussion on it and i've already read it. Otherwise, I tend to tune it out a little bit and end up doing a lot of rewinding!
I read mostly during my commute (an hour each way daily in the subway), during lunch when I can get away from my desk and during the weekends. I seldom read during the evenings because I like to spend it with my hubby - although if the book is going well, I can't concentrate on our conversations thinking of the book, LOL!
Any chance I get. I can't remember the last time I left home without a book to read. I read while standing in line at the grocery store, at stoplights, waiting on the kids after school, during lunch, any breaks I get, while cooking supper (after homework), in the tub, while DH is watching hunting, while the kdis are watching Spongebob, while I'm watching TV . . .
I am going through menopause so I don't get to sleep much, I read a lot at night and while cooking and in the bathroom. While they are watching a movie.
hmmm.. i read at work... most of the time.. i have a 16hr shift 6am to 10 pm... and i can finish a book in that period of time. i also MUST read at night .. is like brushing my teeth.. such a ritual since i was a child. and well if its a 5 star book.. every chance i get!!

I read on my commute to work. Now that I'm relocating to a different office, I'll be driving to work so I'll listen to my audio books. Then I read during lunch breaks. I try to read some more when I get home. I really utilize my days off. Then sometimes I go through dry spells so when I finally get back on my reading horse I go crazy and devour books.

I read when I'm waiting in line sometimes too, Mandy. I always bring at least two books with me, and I have rescue books in my car, just in case. :)
That is a great idea.... rescue books!
is a rescue book, a formerly read book good enough for a reread or one you're ok with starting at any time?
I have those..... books I save and won't get rid of.

For me, the rescue book is just a book I have in my car, just in case I forgot to bring a book or I finish the one I brought. It's most likely a book I haven't read yet.
I will put one of each. I never go anywhere with out my nook now. But if the battery dies I will need a back up plan so that is what I'll do. Thanks for the ideas.

I think the Kindle has more books to offer.... am I wrong? I always use amazon for the reviews on everything and I have found books there that are not offered on nook. How ridicules would it be to have both??????

I think there is a huge selection of books on Kindle, and you can put PDF documents right on the reader. Plus, it's easy to shop at Amazon for me. That's why I bought it. I know some people who have more than one type of ereader. Must be nice!
Christmas is coming!!!!!!! All I want for christmas are my books to read ..my books to read.
Okay I don't know what .... PDF is or how it works soooo if I can put books from amazon on my nook that would be great but if I am not clever enough .... well then I will have to tell my family I want one gift only and they can all chip in and get it for me!?!?.
Is that bad?

I read while I ride my exercise bike for an hour in the morning(now that its winter, but int eh summer when I walk, I don't read in the morning) then, sometimes again in the afternoon, if I get a chance. I always read in the evening as soon as the table is cleared, the dishes done and the kids are occupied with video games, the computer or watching hockey(which is a nightly event at my house) so I get plenty of reading time. Weekends are a bit harder cause we do alot of traveling for the hockey team(I can't read in the car, I get sick) so thats out, but as I said I get plenty fo time.

Faithmarie, I think the Amazon Kindle book format is protected. I'm sure someone can tell you how to do it, but it's not as easy as converting a document to read on your Kindle, as far as I know.I am excited about Christmas coming. It's my favorite holiday! I have to think about what to put on my wish list--we exchange those in my family.
Oh I know.... that is what we are doing this year with 4 of our 6 grandchildren. Drat they now know what they want. Let the "money" letting begin.

how do you manage your reading time? Do you have a large chunk of time set aside everyday to read or do you take any and every opportunity to open up your book?
