This is a pretty basic question, but I just came across separate listings of a Japanese book -- the book
and its English translation. I tried to combine them, but I noticed that the Japanese-language one has the author's name listed in kanji, and the English has the transliteration into roman letters.

I should change the Japanese text into Roman characters and then merge the tranlations, right?

Right. I might make the author's name in kanji the secondary author on that edition.

You might also want to put links in each of the two author's bios pointing at the other one so that people browsing can see that they're the same person.
