I think this was a fantasy book of some kind, and started with a girl waking up in an empty house and just walks away, I think through a mirror.

Mirror of her Dreams by Stephen R Donaldson. (sorry, I can't link from my phone) has the main girl alone in her upper class apartment when a man comes through the mirror (she has lots of them). He convinces her to come with him tosave his kingdom. She was sad, lonely, and questioned whether she was even real so she walked away from her life and went with him.
