Annika What is holding your interest this week?

message 2: by Annika (new)

Annika I'm finally out of my slump:) I flew through The Hunger Gams and boy does it ever live up to the hype. I'm now a little over 1/2 way through Catching Fire. It's also just great.

message 3: by Tina (new)

Tina (lancejrmommy) | 59 comments I loved that series.
I've been reading Lucky by Alice Seibold.

Melissa (melissa419) | 123 comments I am halfway through A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway and then on to Black Girl/White Girl by Joyce Carol Oates.

message 5: by Liz (new)

Liz I'm reading "Evidence" by Jonathan Kellerman - petty good so far. I think next up is "Forcing Amaryllis" by Louise Ure (for my ABC Challenge).

Catching Fire was my favorite of the series. I loved the whole thing, but Catching Fire just did it for me. My 16 yo son also loved the books and Cathcing Fire was his favorite too!

Sara (rstjm4) | 70 comments I read The Art of Racing in the Rain this weekend, which was really good, even though I wasn't really sure bc I am NOT a dog person at all! I am getting ready to start Our Kind Of Traitor by John Le Carre.

Tonight at LBC we got to do a phone "meeting" with Pope Joan author Donna Wolford Cross. It was really good!!

message 8: by Stacey (new)

Stacey I'm on the last 50pgs of Room!!!

message 9: by Gretchen (new)

Gretchen (gkonkler5) I started Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi. Ellen talked me into it. lol Actually saw Portia on Ellen and thought it would be a good read since i have teenage daughters. So far so good. Pleasantly surprised.

Also, still reading We Don't Live Here Anymore by Andre Dubus. It's three novellas so thought would be nice to break them up with Portia's book. All kind of heavy and intense though.

Listening to Slaughterhouse Five. Not sure how I'm feeling about that one yet.

message 10: by Theresa (new)

Theresa 36 Arguments for the Existence of God, which is good so far. I raced through Mr. Peanut this weekend and thought it was amazing.

Slaughterhouse Five is one of my all-time favorites!

message 12: by Laurel (new)

Laurel (laureljean) Almost finished with Michael Connelly's Nine Dragons. Trying to decide if I'll go right on to The Reversal or try something else. A friend recommended I read Unbearable Lightness.

message 13: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 67 comments I AM READING I'D KNOW YOU ANYWHERE BY LAURA LIPPMAN. THE CRITICS LOVED IT - I AM FINDING IT SLOW.

message 14: by Jennifer (last edited Nov 19, 2010 02:18PM) (new)

Jennifer (jml_417) I was in NYC earlier this week and somehow managed to start AND finish A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini - LOVED it!

Right now, I'm about halfway through O, Juliet by Robin Maxwell and I'm really enjoying it. It's an historical re-telling of Romeo & Juliet in 13th century Florence, during the reign of Cosmo d'Medici.

Up next is Bel Canto and Women of the Silk.

message 15: by Elise (new)

Elise I just finished Lisa Unger's Fragile, which I liked a lot. Now I'm ~trying~ to get into TC Boyle's The Women. I think I just need to have a longer stretch to read and be able to concentrate! This weekend, I hope!

I read I'd Know You Anywhere. It picked up the pace.

message 17: by Stacey (new)

Stacey Elise, I just received Fragile yesterday. I'm thinking of abandoning my current reads to start it. It looks so good!

message 18: by Madelyn (new)

Madelyn Lubin I have been reading "Life" by Keith Richards since the book was released last month. I'm trying to savor it, reading it slowly b/c I don't want it to end. I can always read it again.
I have left my usual genre and have been reading rock n roll biographies lately, mostly rolling stones related.
