Does anyone is the group have an e-reader? If so, which ereader do you have? How do you like it? And how did you decide which ereader to purchase?I have mixed feelings about ereaders - my mind says "support the old school publishing industry and book stores," my back says, "stop breaking me by carrying books in multiples of 2 wherever you go."
I will enver stop buying old school books, but I'm curious about what ereaders folks are using - and am particularly curious because as someone who reads lots of fiction from the Black diaspora, will I still be able to find Nalo Hopkinson, Toni Morrison, Victor LaValle, et al (and 'dem) if I get an ereader?
I don't have one yet but I plan to get one. I see it as just one more way to support my 'book problem.' Like you, I enjoy old-school books, the hard feel of a novel, seeing it in my library. And I'm sure a lot of Black fiction will be available electronically - some of it is already. And when you're ready to read electronically, I hope you try out my new e-book as well.Best,
Rachel
The View from Here

Nicole Baxter has always tried to control every element of her life, but that control is slipping away. She has issues. Abandonment issues. Marital issues. Conception issues. And she thinks her house in the hills is haunted. It doesn't help that her husband Truman spleunks and climbs, making her worry more with each adventure he takes. As the two grow apart, Nicole makes decisions that may ultimately shatter her fragile marriage.
Her life changes on the afternoon she receives a phone call from the harbor. During a scuba dive, Truman disappears. No one -- not his diving instructor, not the Coast Guard -- can find him. Is he still alive? Or is grief making her believe the impossible?
Rachel Howzell is a science writer at City of Hope, a cancer research and treatment institution. She is also the author of A Quiet Storm (Simon & Schuster). She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. The View from Here is her first Kindle eBook, and can be purchased for $5,99 at http://www.amazon.com/The-View-from-H....
