Mr. Bunny-my almost husband-didn't stay long in one town until he met me. He's moved all over the place. He didn't feel like he had real place to call home.
I lived in Pittsburgh for a year, when I was in Culinary school. City living wasn't my sort of thing. I only really liked being able to walk every where and find entertainment easily.
I am alarmed by people who are constantly rearranging their furniture. I wonder what they are running away from.

They tend to leave the chairs and couches in the same place.

moving when you can take your things with you is one thing. abandoning most of what you own because you cannot afford to transport your belongings 2000+ miles is another. I left my furniture behind in Las Vegas and shipped half of my books and music (LPs &CDs) because they were the most important to me. Now I can begin to collect again. I just finished building a 2nd block&2x4 bookcase and it is full allready. no room for another, so I'll have to buy smaller bookcases for any new books.

Or he might like watching you run into the furniture he moved :-).
Once I get a room the way I want it, it tends to stay that way. Sometimes I might have to fiddle with it if I have a New piece of furniture (another bookcase or small chest of drawers) but that's it.
This is the 6th state I've lived in so I never grew up in one place. I went to 11 different school between kindergarten and 12th grade. My dad and stepmom, however, live in the house my stepmom grew up in. My stepmom's childhood best friend still lives in the house next door with her husband and kids.
I have found something to like about everywhere I have lived. Living in a new area always enriched my life in some way and I have great memories tied to those places. That's how I usually date my memories: where was I when this happened? I've lived in the South, the deep south, the west coast and New England and loved them all.

I'm still within 15 miles of the house in which I grew up and in which my parents still live. I refer to myself as "The One They Can't Get Rid of."
And I would adore a book lojak because of the 7-8 times per evening I put my book down and can't find it.
