Félix (habitseven) How humiliating.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I have laundry that's been sitting in the dryer since Thursday. Guess I should do something about that.

I take about ten minutes to shower, because I'm usually pretty tired, so I don't linger. Unless I'm shaving.

I'm glad for the laundry basket update. I was worried as well.

message 54: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments I think I win in the laundry waiting to be put away department. I've got whites in my basket that were washed early in the week and a dryer full of colors from Thursday.

message 55: by Lori (new)

Lori Hahaha. Oh dear. This is true humiliation. Y'all think since TH is how behind you are, I have clothes lying in my hall from 2 weeks ago. I've gone longer. When I wonder why I seem to have no clothes it's not to fold. And then they're all wrinkled! I'm such a mess.

Hate showers, take baths except when I can't hold off washing my hair, which is a good week. Sometimes a day or 2 later.

message 56: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments My showers are usually 15-20 min. I don't like baths, they annoy me...I'm not really sure why, but they just do.
I don't want to talk about laundry, because it's evil and wrong and never ending...as is all housework...nasty stuff!

message 57: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Laundry. Boooooooo.

message 58: by Lori (new)

Lori Sisyphus. Housewife is rolling the ball up just to have it roll back down IMMEDIATELY.

message 59: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments Exactly Lori!

3 minutes was the recommended shower time due to the drought in Australia. Thank goodness the drought is now over (however temporary) I no longer feel guilty over those extra precious luxurious minutes spent wasting water.

message 61: by Lori (new)

Lori 3 minutes, YIKES

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

Yikes indeed, 3 minutes isn't really long enough to wash your hair. I don't think I got it down to 3 minutes but I was always conscious of not spending to much time enjoying myself too much. :D

It's probably best that you don't read my posts Sally. I am always going to put something in there that makes you cringe.

You shouldn't judge all Austalians by my performance, not all of them are as illiterate as I am. :(

15-20 minutes, and I haven't taken a bath since I was 12.

Thanks Alecia.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments while in haiti in october i again took showers using water that someone graciously hand carried in buckets for us to us. haitian women would warm about 1 gallon of water on a fire and we would mix that with 2 gallons of cold water. we would pour it over ourselves to get wet, then soap up and then rinse with 3 gallons or less of water. i have done this routine many times in many diff places as well as not having any water for days/week. this has caused me to appreciate and conserve water

message 76: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) no wonder you savour a nice bubble bath.

You didn't drop the soap, did you?

My inner ear, with a Q tip.

message 82: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Ouch!

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

I did that when I was 2 or 3 and burst my ear drum.

Won't hurt much, what with that small mouth & all.

message 87: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I prefer showers, but we only have a bathtub. And no heat in the bathroom. So in the winter I tend to shower at the gym. It works out well, since it gets me to the gym a lot. I think my showers are in the 7-10 minute range? My hair is thick and rinsing out the shampoo and conditioner take time. I don't think I could do it in three minutes, Gail. Are you allowed to save up minutes so you can take six two minute showers and then one nine minute one on the seventh day?

message 88: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
My bathroom is nicely heated, which I can't always say for the rest of my abode. I have a big built-in closet above the bathroom radiator so I sometimes store clothes in there so they're warm when I put them on.

Yeah I disagree too...I only had a bathtub in one apartment when I was a student. It was rigged with a very small rubber tube so I could wash my hair. Very inconvenient.
