Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments If you are/were blessed with the gift of writing novels, what would you write about? Would it be paranormal in nature or other? A paranormal romance or urban fantasy? Would it be YA, General Adult or Erotic?

Have you ever thought about what you'd like to write about? What kind of world you'd like to create and share with the world?

Shelleyrae at Book'd Out | 346 comments If I could I'd write urban fantasy, I have an idea that's been burbling along for a while (Title: Bloodwitch) but no time to actually do anything about it. I've also been writing mainly how to's and tutorials for the past 6 years or so as well and it's sucked all the description out of me. It's really hard to get away from the bare bones style of that type of writing suprisingly. I used to write for fun when I was younger.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments As much as I like a good PNR, I am definitely drawn more to UF. So, I figure I'd write what I love.

I used to think I'd write a book about vamps in a closed world. Definitely adults, not YA. But, the more I read, the more I'm drawn to shifters and a semi-open world. Semi-open, in my mind, being where humans know "others" exist, but "they" try to blend in and not cause trouble. That or just full blown out in the open, like Kate Daniels, Riley Jensen, etc.

I wrote poetry when I was younger. The words of a tortured teen soul. LOL! I haven't written much of anything in a long time though. Doubt I'd have what it takes to write a novel. Much less a series. I envy those that can. I enjoy just sitting back and reading and enjoying what they write for me/us. :)

Aske | 119 comments I would definitely write either general adult or erotic. I don't really like YA books. I like both UF and PNR, so probably write books in each or maybe a mix of both in one. I LOVE writing and have tons of ideas simmering in the back of my mind, but I hardly have time to write. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to it. :)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Wouldn't it be nice if we could have a writer sit with us and take down our ideas, write everything out, we edit it with them and presto! our book!? LOL! :D

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Would you make changes to a series ender??
What would you write differently? Would you change the ending completely? Or just a few pieces parts?

I just finished (and loved) Alpha by Rachel Vincent. But, it had me thinking, how would I have wrapped up the series if it were mine to write?

I have thoughts on that, but don't want to post spoilers for the book. Thought it would be a good ? to purpose to the group though.

Jenny Schwartz (jenny_schwartz) I'm lucky enough to have a few stories published, but I still have secret wish-I-could-write... dreams. In fact, I really want to read Ben's story in Patricia Briggs' Mercy series, so much so that I'm prepared to write it if I had to! Anyone else weave stories for side characters?

message 8: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Good question, Jenny. I certainly have characters I hope get their own story. One I'm dyin' to read is Qhuinn and Blay (Black Dagger Brotherhood). I think if Ward doesn't give them their sweet, sweet, brolovin' a good book, I'm gonna wish I could write so I could do it. LOL! I mean, it's only fair! To them and US! ;)

Patrick (wingkon) | 46 comments Possibly a dark urban fantasy. :D

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments That's a great choice, Patrick. There aren't enough really good dark UFs out there. At least not that I've found.

Would you stick with a certain type of supernatural being?
