Northern Ontario, haha.
Last year was craaaazy with snow days. Three in a row! I didn't even think it was possible.

Aha, I would but I'm stuck doing a project.

I must admit, I've been pretty disappointed with them - in many ways they're just a lower quality re-hash of Percy Jackson.
Throne of Fire in particular was not up to Rick Riordan's usual standard, in my opinion. Anybody else think so?

Yeah, they're not awful. You might like them, there just not my cup of tea.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, Asa. Even the quality of writing has gone down, though, and the beginning of both books in the Kane Chronicles just went on and ooon.
Percy Jackson was great, I've gotta give that to Riordan.
It's sad that authors can't keep a series going for long with all the books being fantastic, except perhaps JK Rowling

And you're right Klymene, many authors have difficulty maintaining a high-quality series over several books. But if you look at all the brilliant series released in past years, they have one thing in common; planning.
JK Rowling knew right from the start she was going to write 7 books and what was going to happen in each of them.
When a writer just decides to keep extending the series without a clear idea of where it ends, that's when it falls apart.
JK Rowling planned each and every chapter of every book and all the foreshadowing and everything was planned. She is fantastic!

I'm not sure how much she had the final two books planned though. Certain elements (ie. Voldemort and Snapes' backstories) were definitely planned but other parts feel like they were just thrown in because she hadn't quite drafted the books thoroughly and was running out of material. The Deathly Hallows, for example, were scarcely mentioned in previous books. I reckon she knew she was going to write about them in book 7, but wasn't really thinking about it until about book 6. Also, the endless camping in book 7 was likely because she hadn't completely planned enough action to fill the seventh novel.

Hey guys, check this book out, I listened to an hour long podcast about this guy and it's believed he is Jack the Ripper as well.
They have actually taken his personal diaries and matched his hand-writings to those of the Jack the Ripper letters.

I just ordered the death cure from B and N and they sent me an email saying it will arrive in like november.

- That's only slightly sad Asa, you try hard and we all get busy. ^.^
* For the rest of october, this is my new photo. It is breast cancer awareness month! In nov I will change it back to the bee.
- Hey guys don't forget that yes Breast Cancer is important but there are SO MANY other types of cancer out there, my mother as Carcanoid Cancer and whenever people hear that they dont know what it is, sometimes even doctors dont know.
So please remember that is more than just Breast Cancer out there.

Yeah, my mom was diagnosed with neck cancer just a month after I was born. Its still hard on us, financially and family wise. She can't eat certian things like Pinneapples without hurting because of the acidity of the fruit. Her salivary glands were destroyed during the radiation therapy, so she can't eat without water. The hardest part is when there are people in our family who are just so un-understanding about her situation. It was especially hard when we went to Malaysia.
Yeah, my mom had most (parts) of her organs removed and so she has barely a stomach and is allergic to sugar.
She can barely eat anything at all now adays - she eats lunchables everyday and she has found she can eat one ice-cream sandwich a day.

Aww. I'm so sorry guys. But on the bright side at least they are still with you. I just really care about breast cancer because my (favorite) aunt was diagnosed with in it june, a few weeks before her wedding. They had to call off the wedding and the doctors wouldn't let my uncle see her because they weren't married so they ended up eloping....I'm getting of topic. She is getting better at least. And my best friends mom had breast cancer a few years ago.
Hey guys I am not really gonna get to post until late-ish tomorrow night so don't really expect me to reply...
http://www.goodreads.com/user_status/... I am really, really sorry. But I need to get control of my life! If Arena 4 starts without me, I don't mind if my charries are killed. I do mind kinda about Dei (She's AWESOMELY ANNOYING!!!), but not Jase. Honey can have Jase if she wants. Ah! If I come back on, please ask me if I've done my homework. Because I need to focus. Goodreads is like an automatic reflex for me when I turn on a computer.
