Lazing around in the tall and luscious grass, Keelyn's head fell gradually down to the ground as she was lulled to sleep by the warm summer breezes.
A figure walking across the fields cast a shadow across her face that startled her awake again, so that she was no longer in napping drowsy mood but in a curious one. The figure had sat down a few yards away and held a book in his lap, and Keelyn could not tame her inquisitive nature when at its liveliest.
The boy may have not notice her inching forward until she came to be only a few feet away from him. "Hello."

Maxwell had been staring down at the sheet of paper, sketching the very basic outline of the star, he hadn't noticed the approaching until she'd greeted him, which in turn caused him to jump, and therefore caused an ugly grey line to cross the sketch.
He let out a breath of relief when he looked over at the girl.
"Oh gods. You scared me."

Keelyn's mouth parted in a slow gasp as her eyes wandered over the dark line. She had probably ruined the drawing, that of which looked like a star.
"Oh geez, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that." Her arms gesticulated awkwardly to the sketchbook as she sat up. "Ah, um, I really hope that was in pencil."

"It was," Maxwell replied bluntly, slightly peeved. "But it's not like it erases easily."
His lips formed a slight frown as his dark eyes looked her over. She looked apologetic enough. He shrugged.

"I'm so, so sorry."
Keelyn was convinced this was probably the single worst introduction ever to have happened. Cool down. Taking a quick few breaths, she relaxed. "The drawing is really good--like, wow." Her charmingly bashful smile made up for the stumbles, though, and she did look very honest-to-the-gods sorry.

Maxwell shrugged again. "It's okay."
He closed the notepad and placed it beside him, pencil on top, and leaned back to rest his weight on his palm. "And thanks," he added. "But it's not much--yet."

"That's cool, drawing. I'm not much of an artist, in any way or form, but I can appreciate people who are talented." She picked a blade of grass and held it up to the sunlight, looking down at the green dot of light that shone on her knee.
"So what's your name? I'm Keelyn."

"Thanks. I'm Maxwell."
He offered his hand for her to shake, casting her a sideways glance. She seemed a bit odd to him. Then again, oddity wasn't always a bad thing. No matter. Most of camp was odd anyways.

Keelyn dropped the blade and shook his hand with friendly smile before glancing again at the sketchbook. Curiosity flooded her eyes as to what was in the rest of those pages. "What kind of things do you draw? Besides stars."

"Several things. Trees. Et cetera," Maxwell replied, smiling. He extended the notebook towards the girl. "Help yourself."
"Sweet, thanks," she said brightly, taking the book with great care and opening it. The drawings were much better than she could ever manage, and a lot of them were of stars.
"Aw, that one is cute in a deadly kind of way." She pointed to the page where the head of snake looked down on a rodent. ((It's Snake goes om nom nom. xD))

((yei~. Kim finished it. She showed me, but she hasn't uploaded it yet. :3))
"Thanks," Maxwell said, glancing over to where she was pointing. "I drew that a while back." He leaned back onto the palms of his hands and waited for her to finish going through his sketchbook.

((I thought it was so epik as it was. xD))
"Cool." She took her time, clearly fascinated by the detail and overall awesome of the sketches before handing it back to Maxwell. "That was nice experience; the art has reinvigorated my senses." ((That's not a portal reference...))

"Thats nit strange," Maxwell chuckled out. "I suppose jazz music does as well." He took back the book and placed it carefully om the ground.

"I didn't mean it in a strange way, sorry if it weirded you out." Keelyn grinned. "So anyways, what I meant was that I thought it was really awesome."

"S'alright. I wasn't too weirded out. And thanks," Maxwell added. "I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my drawings."
"It clearly pays off." Angling her head so that the sun beat down to warm her front, she sighed in the scent of the sleepy day. Even the bees seemed to be at ease.
"What cabin are you?" she eventually asked.

"Anemoi," he answered lightly. "Zephyrus, would be my parent, which I assume you were wondering. And yourself?'
"Nemesis." Keelyn replied so hesitantly. Some tended to judge by the name of her divine mother so very quickly and shy away from her. It was a bit discouraging, but Maxwell was cool.

He gave a slight nod, recognizing the goddess. "I see." He gave no further comment on her parent, sensing her discomfort.
"So can you create breezes?" she asked lightheartedly. The demigods with the powers to control aspects of nature were intriguing.

Keelyn nodded, becoming drowsy by the soft sounds of summer and the light conversation. Her eyelids began to flutter, so she forced her eyes open and stood. "It was great to meet you, Maxwell, but I'm going to fall asleep any second and I would be more comfortable on my bed."

Maxwell nodded. "Go ahead. See you around, Keelyn," he replied, placing his sketchbook back on his lap and began sketching again.
"Later." Rubbing to sleep out of her eyes so she could at least find her way back to the cabin, Keelyn walked away with a warm feeling inside her. It felt odd, but in a good way.
Adrian walked under the sun in thought, thinking about his future. And Sappho, but that was nothing new. She always came to mind.

Baling through the lush green grass, Maxwell sat, and opened his notebook to the page where the incomplete star sketch lay. Quick strokes of his pencil skimmed across the page as he worked to finish the drawing. Keelyn's change in behavior had concerned him, but then again, he didn't exactly know what her normal behavior was. Mentally shrugging it off, he refocused his attention onto his sketchpad.
((Ironicity (I doubt thats a word) Adrian draws the sun. :D))
Despite his thinking mode, Adrian's eyes skimmed the ground and scenery around him. He found a particularly soft part of grass and collected his thoughts while situating on the ground.
((How should they interact?))

Distracted from his train (CHOO CHOO) of thoughts, Adrian peered at the slightly older boy and his notebook. His art was impressive, but he didn't want to be creepy so he spoke up instead of spying. "Hey, watcha drawing?"

Maxwell turned, eyebrow raised, shrugged, and turned back to his notebook. "Stuff," he replied nonchalantly.
Maxwell turned, eyebrow raised, shrugged, and turned back to his notebook. "Stuff," he replied nonchalantly.
"Ahh, see 'stuff' is a generalized term. For example: 'Hey bob, what's in that sammich?' and if Bob replies 'stuff' he could mean cheese and ham, or possibly infant toes. So, let me say it again- Whatcha drawing?" Adrian replied, trying to hide a smirk.

"Yeah, it was sort of the point," Maxwell replied, chuckling. "But it sounds a little better than saying, 'I'm drawing a star'."
"What about, 'I'm drawing a ginormous fire ball suspended in the nothingness of space'?" Adrian suggested, picking at the grass.

"You guess?" Adrian asked, raising his eyebrows. "I'm eighteen, almost nineteen. I've been fighting-" Here he jokingly threw a punch in the air. "Since I was six on the streets of Greece. Yeah, I think I'm okay in the man area."

"And you make a joke involving infant toes. Maturity defines a man," Maxwell replied easily, smiling. "Simple."

"Touche." Maxwell chucked, and closed the notebook. He set it aside, and leaned back onto the palms of his hand.
