I don't watch BBT, but whenever I see an interview with Jim Parsons, I think I should.
When I am in a lot of pain (anything over level 7 on a pain scale of 1-10 with 10 being worst) I hide in my nice,quiet dark room and huddle in the sheets/blankets (depending on season). I am like a wolf hiding in it's den. Just leave me alone, please.
I don't understand the pain scale. Like, I get what 1 and 10 are, but when someone asks me that I'm just like, "Yeah, it hurts really bad....what?"
when I kept going to the neurologists about the migraines they always ask how bad the pain is on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 is the worst pain you can imagine. Hint: never, ever say 11 or 12. Then they do not take you seriously. Personally, i used to think it was a crazy question. If it hurts enough for you to notice then it's bad. But when you have chronic,daily pain you kind of fall into it. In my migraine diary I am supposed to record the pain scale level of the migraine. I HATE keeping a migraine diary. It makes me depressed because then all I am focusing on is the migraine. Depression city!

I once told the neurologist I felt like someone was hitting me in the head with a 2x4 every 30 seconds but he still wanted a numerical index. today, someone is hitting me in the head with a big stick..not a 2x4. Not one of my best days but certainly not one of my worst. I feel really cold even though the thermostat reads 72. nausea...light sensitive..the computer is making my eyes water. oh well. I will survive.

hope you are feeling better today, RA. hope it's not that darned flu going around. but you sure do have a lot of energy for someone sick. baking a cake? about all I can do when I am sick is read or watch tv/dvds. and if the migraine is bad enough, just lie in bed and take sleep meds so I can sleep through it.
I am SO happy to be back. the computer had to be wiped and re-done. really badly infected this time. How about your computer, Britt?

It's a bad year for illnesses! I'm sorry you got it, Bun. You, too, RA. I'm putting in a word for zinc cough drops. They do seem to help.
