Albert Seoh | 1 comments There are two parts. The first part is about the past. In this part, there is this ship heading towards a planet. There is a pilot, a smart computer, and people in stasis. The pilot tries to do some dimensional travel stuff, but in the process somehow creates like 13 or so clones of the ship. Then, I think they were tempted to fight each other, but then decided not to, and the whole time, the computers on each ship were communicating. Eventually, they decided to settle on the planet but set up force fields on each ship to prevent the clones from interacting with each other. Something like that.
The second part of the narrative is following life on the planet many years later. I don't remember this part so much, just that I think he took down a couple force fields? I don't know. Any help appreciated, thanks.

This sounds like Pathfinder. There are at least two more books in the series in which the mc travels to various sections and discovers how different cultures have developed over the thousands of year that have passed. It's quite good, but then it is Orson Scott Card.

Albert, are you still looking for this or did you find it?
