Amina (journalistam) In front of God, everyone isn't the same. There are pious people and bad people. As I said, it depends if u did more good or more bad. If ur doing more bad then that means ur a bad person and therefore deserve hell.

message 52: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) In my opinion, in front of God everyone is good. He chases away all the bad sites of people, as God is the power of good.

So a bad person who lived for, say, 75 years and did some bad stuff there, deserves to be totoured and punished in Hell for the rest of eternity? Is that fair? Now if he got 75 years in Hell, maybe it would be less unfair, but the fact is that, according to you, that person would go to Hell and stay there forever. That is not justice.

message 53: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) I didn't say they wld b there forevr. It's God's desicion how much time that person deserves

message 54: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Uh-huh, but I don't think people "deserve" stuff like that. Especially not when they did what they did because they thought it was the right thing to do. Do you think that people with mind sicknesses deserve to go to Hell? Most of them don't know what they're doing half the time, so should they go to Hell for soing something because of the way God created them?

message 55: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) I told u already, God gave us free will to do bad or gud

message 56: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Yes, but people with mindsicknesses don't have free will like the rest of us. I don't know how uch you know about it, but I happen to have an uncle who is, ah, challenged - What some people would call sick in the head. He didn't choose to become like that, I don't think anyone would choose to have a sickness like that, BUT WE DON'T GET TO CHOOSE THAT! And when people don't have that choice, don't have the link in their mind that helps them learn, makes them see right from wrong - How're they supposed to be keot responsible for their actions, in Gods eyes? In life they're locked up at a hospital with special treatment and care, but you rarely see a mind-sick person get a death sentence, 'cause they cant help what they do in the same way we can. So i don't think they will be held responsible in the eyes of God.

message 57: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) every bad persons lik dat

message 58: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) not*

message 59: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Uhm, so? Is it their fault? No it ain't, cause appearently they were created that way, without any sense, without the ability to see right from wrong. So how is it their fault?

message 60: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) I already said, not evryone is like dat. and being dumb in the head will probably not get u in hell then

message 61: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman Amina, do you really believe that people with proven mental illnesses that affect their ability to tell right from wrong should be treated the same as those without such an illness who commit crimes?

message 62: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) Nope, I never said dat. read what I just rote. if ur ill then God orgives ur past sins too. thas what I blv.

message 63: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman Sorry. When I wrote my post your response had not come up yet so I didn't see it. Understood.

message 64: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Then how are they Amina? If they aren't mentally challenged, why would they do this kind of stuff? Please inlighten me, 'cause I cant see any normal person going around killing people.

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

not everyone who kills someone is mentally challenged. some people kill others for reason like jeolousy, hatred, misunderstandings.

i think when we die, we go to heaven or hell and people who do bad things (Not necessarily kill people) go to hell and serve time there and when the time is over they go to heaven.

and if ur ill, then your forgiven.

message 66: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) I agree wid Barca. Thas what I've been trying to say all along. Killing isn't the only bad thing. Like for example, if I lie, I KNOW m lying, therefore I will be doing a sin.

message 67: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) And I disagree. I don't think anyone can be bad in front of God. They might have done bad actions, but they'll look back and see that they did wrong.

And people who kill others for those reasons are insane. Maybe they weren't born that way, but they became insane trough their lives, due to something that has happened to them.

And do you think soldiers go to Hell too? 'Cause they kill lots of people. And what about suicide bombers?

message 68: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) suicide bombers do, soldiers dnt if they have a reason for fiting; like protecting their contry/relegion.

and I still dnt think it wld be fair for two people both to go to heaven wen one of them was bad and the other good. and for the hundreth time, not al murderes are mad.

message 69: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) And for the hundreth time, murders aren't normal.

So it's okay to kill someone if you have a good reason?

message 70: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) That's not kiling, it's defending urself. murders arnt normale, but murderes are normal

message 71: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Wait. Murders aren't normal, but murders are normal? That dosen't make any sense.

It's not defending yourself if you're sent to another country where you really could have chosen not to go, and then kill someone there. If someone comes into your house and tries to kill you, and you fight back and accidently kill them = that's defending yourself. Chosing to go to a country where you're pretty sure you'll kill people, that's a choice.

message 72: by Amina (last edited Oct 27, 2010 07:10AM) (new)

Amina (journalistam) Yes, if u aciidently kill sumone wile defending urself, u'll be forgiven if u accept u made a mistake, and ask forgiveness.

I mean, MURDERS are not normal, but MURDERERS are usually normal people.

message 73: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman As I've said before, there is such a thing as "justifiable homicide" and soldiers killing enemy combatants during a war or conflict falls under that heading, so I don't think they will be judged the same way (unless they start killing civilians or others for non-combatant reasons, which is a whole other discussion).

I do not agree that someone who kills for the reasons listed by Amina are automatically insane simply because of the act. If that were the case, we would never be permitted to punish anyone here. You need to be very careful about using the word "insane" to describe people. Just because they have a different sense of morality than those who don't kill does not mean they are insane.

message 74: by Emma (last edited Oct 27, 2010 07:42AM) (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Murderes are people who might have been considered normal, but turned out to be, well, not. Usually murderes do have some kind of horrible backgroundstory or sickness.

message 75: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman Wait, have you done research to back that claim up? I would strongly disagree with you on that. And even if they do have such a history, how does that make them insane?

Just because you do something out of the ordinary doesn't mean you are now insane. That's a leap that needs some serious support which has not been given here.

message 76: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Which is why I wrote "usually". It might not make you insane, but it can very well make you many other things. I do not believe that anyone who is normal can kill someone, when it is not self-defence. If the "excuse" is anger, they pprobably have some serious anger-management problems - Or more llikely they've been trough something horrible, had a horrible up-bringing, are on drugs, etc. I am not saying that this is an excuse to kill, nothing is and excuse to kill. But I don't think anyone deserves Hell, and I don't think God, beeing the force of good, would sent anybody there (This all assuming that I believed that Hell exists).

I was actually discussing this rather interesting subject with my cousin, and he sugested something I thought sounded pretty fair. You see, my cousin don't believe in Hell either. Anyway, he thinks that people who've done horrible things in life, will be places in some sort of waiting room. So then they sit their until their "time is up". They don't go to a place of toture and death, but they don't go directly to heaven. I lked that, that sounded fair.
And anyway, why would God sent someone of to a faith most humans think is too horrible to even consider doing to criminals, even the worst of them?

message 77: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman What you and your cousin are describing is like the concept of "purgatory", where you are neither in heaven or hell but sort of a way station where you would need to grow in your faith and prove your worthiness before you could go to heaven.

message 78: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Yeah, kinda liked that. I think that seems fair, and it also does not go against the God I believe in.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

i believe that god is THE most merciful but if u do wrong, then you will get punished. however, if u repent the He will forgive you.

and emma, i wanted to ask u a personal question. it's ok if u dont answer but i was wondering what religion u are?

message 80: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) Yep, I think me and Barca have kind of the same beelifs. Can I ask you, Barca, what ur relegion is?

message 81: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) @ Barca: I'm a protestantic Christian :) - But I don't always follow Christianity and the Bible, I look at things and evaluate what I believe. The main reason I'm a christian ain't because I believe everything it says in the Bible, it's cause I believe in why the bible was written, and what the intentions behind it were. Plus, I believe in God and Christ :)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) I believe that when I die, I'll go to the grave and little bugs will eat me and I will rot and decompose and be nothing but a dead smelly brown corpse (too graphic?) OR my family will burn me and I'll be in a little box for god knows how long

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

Rj Amina wrote: "My beleif is that the good go to heaven and the bad to hell. It is God who does justice between the two."

I have kind of a different version of what happens to the damned....not exactly a "Hell" though some may call it that...

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

what's it like?

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

I believe that if you are damned, you must stay earthbound after you die until you can find a way to make it right....to change yourself. Then you may go to heavan.

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

oh...
i believe that the world will end and then you get sent to heaven or hell and once you've spent your time in hell then you go to heaven.
